🍺: Modern Times Critical Band IPA Not exactly sure if this is an unfiltered ipa which is all the rage right now, but holy hell this beer is amazing. I tried it on tap at Doghaus Alhambra for the first time and was blown away. I had to buy more. This ipa falls under the category of “IPA’s for people who don’t like IPA’s.” It’s not offensively tart, nor is it heavy on lupulin resin. It is “juicy” as modern times suggests. Definitely not a chug at a party beer, more like, pour into a spiegelau glass and debate on whether your favorite artist falls under a certain genre of music. Beer Megapost 1.) Stone Enjoy By 9/4/2017 unfiltered IPA -I'm not sure if I'm just getting used to these releases but this is starting to taste more like a regular IPA to me. Still amazing though. 2.) Old Rasputin Never Say Die Russian Imperial Stout -Holy shit stouts are underrated. So much nuttiness and earthy flavors in a beer that defies the common conventions of the definition of beer. Not something to drink quickly. 3.) Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo IPA -if you have a friend that hates IPA's but loves Capri Sun, this is the IPA for them. It doesn't bite as much as their pale ale or torpedo IPA, but it's still a great session able summer ale. 4.) Firestone Walker Leo Adversus IPA -not sure why but I wasn't super impressed with this. There's some IPA's that tend to be a bit "syrupy" especially double IPA's to mask the abundance of hops that might be too offensive for the general palate. Not a fan of this, but firestone walker still makes good stuff. #beer #craftbeer #ipa #ris #respectbeer

🍺:Ballast Point Unfiltered Sculpin IPA I've been stoked to post this for a while. The only other beer that can compete with this is #stonebrewing 's unfiltered IPA. The voracity of an IPA with the heavy undertones of a wheat ale. This is what beer can and should be. Granted this was a bit pricy for a 6pack but it was worth. It's not as bold as sculpin but you taste resinous notes of hops that sculpin and other hop forward IPA's often miss. The bouquet is straw like, amongst wheat ales, but the palate starts and ends as an IPA. This is a beer for the ages. #craftbeer #respectbeer #ballastpoint #unfilteredipa #ipa

🍺:Lagunitas 12th of Never Ale This is one of those beers where the packaging doesn't match the taste. But packaging shouldn't matter when enjoying an easy and session-able pale ale. Initial palate sensory sensations are timid, but the finale takes your taste buds to the next level with a hoppy finish. I'm told there's hints of coconut, but I don't smell or taste it. The head dissipates quickly, and clarity is moderately opaque. A great go-to beer. #lagunitas #12thofnever #ale #craftbeer #respectbeer #glassware

🍺: Boatswain American IPA After having a poor experience with Boatswain's other beers, I had low expectations for this. And somehow it was lowered even further. Not much in the hop department, and it honestly tastes like old syrup water with malt liquor thrown in the mix. Most of Boatswain's beers can get you on a level, but your palate will hate you in the process. #respectbeer #ipa

🍺:Weihenstephaner Original Premium So I'm not particularly well versed in lagers since my preference is in Ales, but for a lager I feel like this is a great stepping stone for those seeking to believe beer is more than just American adjunct lagers. Despite its 100 rating on BA I'm not personally too fond of it because of the sweet aftertaste, but overall the composition of flavor trumps those of your typical macro swill. Carbonation dissipates quickly, bouquet is of a light grain, and it is transparent like most lagers. Overall, great for turning your frat bro friends into refined beer connoisseurs but probably not so much for whale beer tasting parties. 🍺: Trappistes Rochefort #8 So I'm very limited in my scope of Trappist ales (only have had Orval and Chimay Cinq Cents) and by far this beer has some really interesting notes on the flavor palate. It's the only Trappist ale I might describe as being smoky. I'm not into cigars or cigarettes by my brief exposure to them had some semblance to this beer. I'm a big fan of Trappist ales because of their origins and intricacy, but by far the beer holds a special place in my palate. Other notes include, the head dissipates very quickly, even agitation does not bring back any head, the bouquet is very malty, and has elements of charred wood. This is the closest thing to an Old Fashioned that would be considered beer in my defenition. #beer #trappistbeer #trappistrochefort8 #respectbeer #craftbeer

🍺: Weihenstephaner Kristall Weissbier Not sure how to really describe it but almost every German beer I've had has a spice (I want to say coriander but I'm not sure) that makes it distinct from other light class beers. I currently have three Weihenstephaner beers (I've only tried Vitus) and by far this one is very refreshing for hot days like today. Pours like most lagers and pilseners, and a nonexistent bouquet to accompany a distinct but not mind blowing flavor palate. #beer #respectbeer #weihenstephaner
