“Well then, it’s been some time. I expect your crew has continued to do their best to test your patience and psychological fortitude?”
Jace/Tali
SEND ME A SHIP INVOLVING MY MUSE AND I'LL TELL YOU;
Who would be the big spoon?
Jace would be the big spoon, protectively cuddling Tali. Granted, he tends to sleep little so she usually winds up falling asleep sprawled all over him and his work.
Who would wake up first?
Jace usually does, if he even manages to get any sleep at all. But he lingers in bed with her when possible, knowing she enjoys the company.
Do they have nicknames for each other?
Admiral and Commander, spoken with a hint of affection and playfulness.
What happened when they met each other’s parents?
Both of their parents are deceased. Considering their backgrounds, I do not believe either set of parents would have liked who their child was romancing.
How do they apologise after an argument?
Jace apologies quietly, but with sincerity. Tali stumbles over translating her thoughts to words, ending with Jace whispering ‘Pasha’ and reassuring her all is well.
What would they be like as parents?
Overprotective. Tali would coddle their child but would be warmly affectionate and attentive. Jace would be a little more distant than Tali and stern, but still loving. Their child would be spoiled.
Who is the better cook?
Neither know how to cook.
Who is more romantic?
Blatantly, Tali is. But Jace is far more subtly and quietly romantic, being attentive to Tali’s desires and needs.
What sort of gifts do they get for each other?
Things of practical interest or need. Omni-tool upgrades, drone mods, new tools, reading material, bits of tech and salvage. However, upon occasion, they do offer gifts that hold more sentimental value than practical, such as the necklace from Jace’s mother that he passed on to her.
Who gets jealous easiest?
Jace. He is less trusting of the intent of others.
Who gets more excited for events e.g.. Birthdays, Christmas?
Tali, despite the fact she usually doesn’t quite understand most human traditions. She enjoys the lift in morale the crew experience and the silliness found in exploring these odd customs.
Who is the most adventurous?
Tali, if only because of her curiosity. It may have gotten her into a bit of trouble more than once.
Who is the most protective?
By far, Jace is. He keeps a careful, concerned eye on her.
What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts?
Given their diverse backgrounds and cultures, they would not have been. Coming from the Fleet and Mindoir, the prejudices of their people would have kept them from ever liking one another.
Do I ship it?

% - What do you use for inspiration when writing?
Answered
§ - A trait your character has that is easy to write and a trait that you find challenging.
An easy trait: Tali's habit of being curious and introspective. It may be something I'm somewhat similar to and thus it is easier to convey but it is also something I enjoy delving into. Indulging in her analytic attributes, puzzling out how strange things like human traditions work, figuring out new information given to her.
A challenging trait: Aptly writing expressions. It's a challenge when dealing with a character that, for all purposes, is somewhat faceless to everyone she interacts with, save one. So finding ways of expressing how Tali feels via her body language or other such cues without becoming repetitive, is hard for me.
? - Name an unexpected way in which your character has developed.
Jali. AKA Tali and Jace.
Having Tali in a relationship wasn't something I thought of too much when I first started. Especially not with Shali. Prior, the pairing was one I was fairly neutral about, at best. But then this guy ↑ comes along and ruins that idea.
But seriously, both our characters and writing had an interesting compatibility, a synergy that was enjoyable to play off of. Looking back, even before we approached the subject of the pairing, there was a subtle chemistry between Tali and Jace. Enough alike that they had a mutual foundation, somewhere familiar, and yet what differences they had complemented and nurtured, encouraged growth and depth. In many ways, it became the best thing I got out of merp.
ooc: The not entirely serious shenanigans that go on behind the scenes.
A labeled box sits beside your console station, sealed and marked 'KIT-10 Unit'. An additional omni-note reads 'Enjoy. Hope it is right.'
She had not thought Jace celebrated the holiday. Even if he was human, she had presumed his previous settlement on Mindoir did not share many of the same customs as the majority of his species. Or, at least, that is what she had gathered, for the Commander often tended to be just as naïve as herself about the various holidays and traditions the human crew enjoyed.
However, when a package containing a tiny KIT-10 mech was left next to her console with little fanfare, Tali found herself second guessing her conclusion. While it was true she had recently been wistfully commenting upon the mech series, she had only spoken of such to a few individuals. Mostly, though, her excited rambling about the functional applications and programming of the KIT-10 had been shared with Jace. Quietly confiding in him her whimsical desires, a rare indulgence in entertaining something that had little practical value.
In truth, she had not believed Jace had fully been paying much mind to her, often such conversations being held after they had retired to his cabin, the Commander busy with poring over reports and data. It appeared, however, that her assumptions had been wrong. That Jace, as ever, was quietly attentive to her despite what responsibilities he held.
Although it was perhaps a simple gesture of affection, it was one that saw an excited glee warm within her eyes, restless fingers toying over the careful packaging, tempted to go ahead and open it now regardless of the work waiting for her. But Tali refrained, despite her interest. Instead, she decided she would wait, wishing to be able to share her excitement with Jace and thank him properly for the very thoughtful gift.

How do you create characters?
Well, I didn't create Tali, so... but with my headcanons for her I tried to expand upon what has already been given within canon and use the lore as information to build off of.
Why do you rp?
For the most part, I enjoy writing. And I enjoy writing with others. I find the back and forth to be delightful, creating relationships and worlds with someone else, fostering character growth that is organic and unique to whoever you are writing with. As you well know, I also take joy in the discussion and analyzing behind it. It's fun to share with another.
Why did you chose to write the characters you write now?
I find Tali to be interesting and, to a certain degree, relatable. She's got a lot more depth to her than I think the general fandom tends to realize, a lot more to offer. Her growth throughout the series was notable and enjoyable to watch, however, it never felt like it was fully resolved. I wanted to write and play with that unresolved growth, to explore the possibilities of her fully maturing into her own and all that would entail.
restrictedtodecaf replied to your post: “Are all humans this open about their… ah… intimate relationships?”:
No.
I see. I wasn't entirely certain if this was more of a cultural difference between species or a factor of personality. It's rather... different than what I'm used to.
