Thinkin abt some headcanons for azmuths father in the Way Less Sad AU
- back when albedo was still azmuths assistant, he definitely ended up meeting azmuths dad (who is just going to be called retaliator) as retaliator likes to check up and make sure his son is doing alright
- upon meeting albedo, retaliator was reminded of how azmuth was when he was a lot younger. retaliator immediately took a shine to albedo which albedo was anxious about because this was his Boss's/Father Figures Dad but did end up getting over that.
- retaliator wasn't blind to the fact that albedo really looked up to azmuth and essentially went My Grandkid Now
- he felt the same about malware and later eunice. he only met malware a couple of times but desperately wanted to help him, since he was once so ill his son had to stick him in a clone body, he understood his pain. unfortunately, there wasn't really anything he could do but attempt to comfort malware when he lashed out.
- he was incredibly excited to meet eunice. he adores her and thinks she's simply wonderful and definitely considers her his granddaughter. he even tries to spoil her despite azmuths protests. eunice loves retaliators visits, she thinks of him as her very fun grandad as opposed to her grumpy father.
- retaliator was... disappointed and upset to say the least when he heard about albedos termination and everything that happened after. while he was upset at albedo, he was even moreso upset at azmuth for how azmuth decided to punish his former assistant. retaliator thought keeping the boy trapped in someone else's form was cruel. after that there was a slight strain on azmuths and retaliators relationship.
- he's even more gutted when he hears what eventually went down with malware. he truly believes that he and albedo need help and for someone to point out the mistakes they've made in a better way.
- part of him is proud that albedo managed to build multiple omnitrixs of his own and that he's a surprisingly good fighter. he likes to think albedo somehow got that from him.
- he's also definitely used his armour to help show eunice a few moves. even helping train her occasionally with myaxx
- myaxx is too part of the family in his mind and has managed to convince his son to give her a raise several times. myaxx personally loves when he tells stories about when azmuth was child. makes for excellent blackmail.
- eventually, when ben starts to befriend albedo and the tennyson's take him in like a stray cat, retaliator is overjoyed to know his grandkid is getting the help he deserves and is changing. as much as he wants to see albedo again, he puts it off until they're in a better place and ready for it.
- upon learning that albedo's non binary, he very excitedly yelled 'one of each!' much to azmuths dismay and everyone else's amusement.
- despite their disagreements, he loves his son more than anything and is very proud of azmuth when he eventually admits to certain mistakes and when hes trying to learn to be a better dad.
