Equity mutual funds were the most popular option, with 75% of all respondents investing for their golden years, according to a study of more than 1400 respondents between the ages of 34 and 55 done by online wealth manager Scripbox.
The Public Provident Fund (PPF), which earned 43% of the vote, and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), which was utilized by 44% of respondents, were the next two most popular investment options after equity mutual funds.
Only 23% of respondents chose insurance as an option for retirement investments.
However, the survey reveals a concerning trend in that 80% of the respondents were uncertain of their retirement plans.
