Today, on World Water Day we acknowledge the vital importance of water that all people, plants and animals need to survive . However, #climatechange is projected to alter the frequency and magnitude of both floods and droughts . Increased incidences of flooding threaten to destroy water points and sanitation facilities and contaminate water sources. In some regions, droughts are exacerbating water scarcity and thereby negatively impacting people’s health and food security. Low-income communities, who are already the most vulnerable to any threats to water supply are likely to be worst affected . The #ParisAgreement aims to keep global temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius and as close as possible to 1.5 degree Celsius.
