“I don’t know why they bother with a curfew, do they really expect people to follow it?” In New Orleans? Of all cities? Really?
He scoffed, shaking his head, hell--he didn’t even have to do much to hide. If he was caught, he could always compel his way out of the situation. Besides, he was actually behaving for once--just doing some shopping. A little curfew wasn’t going to keep him from the supplies he needed for his spell. And it seemed like there were others who shared his mindset.
One of the magic shops stayed open despite the curfew, after all--many of their clients were more---nocturnal than most. None of whom were interesting until he was leaving and ran into her--rather literally. Taking a step back, he muttered an apology while looking her over, a brow arched.
“There is something--familiar about you.” He paused. “Have I threatened you before?”
