It’s a common myth that if you have a slightly larger bottom/hip area, you should increase the size of your bikini pant and vise versa a smaller derriere should be in an itsy bitsy handkerchief. This simply isn’t true. We are all built in different shapes and sizes, neither of which means you can’t find the perfect bikini pant.
This blog is designed to help you choose the right bikini pant for the right shape, whether you have larger hips, a bigger bottom, no bottom, even a flat bottom or god forgive the perfect downstairs shape we are here for you. This is one of the reasons Coco Bay sells their designer bikinis as separates. Believe you me nobody is perfect!
Goddess Ice Tie Side Pant
You’re not going to believe this but a Tie Side Pant can be the perfect pant for you as it cuts out the unsightly bulge, hence making your hips and bottom look smaller.
Belted Pants are also perfect for you particularly with a different coloured belt, this breaks the pant up, making the block of fabric seem smaller.
Our Retro Pants are also a favourite, but you need to go up a size as our retro pants do not bag around the bottom. It’s important to have the bottoms clinging to your figure…but in a flattering way.
Goddess White Twist Band Pant
Our Twist Band Pant is also a great choice, if you feel confident with your tummy area the cross over at the front gives a very flattering cut. This pant is a favourite amongst our customer base.
Black Sash Band Bikini Pant
The Sash Band Pant is perfect if your bottom is your least confident area. The ability to roll the sash up or down is perfect, this can create a look of a mini sarong. Always choose a darker colour though.
Seafolly Passion Short Pareo Sarong
Sarongs are also the perfect cover up when moving around the beach, in particular the short mesh sarongs.
Believe it or not this is as bigger problem as people with big hips. Women who have what is normally called a boy figure would die for some shape. This is what we need to try to create with a bikini pant.
South Pacific Tie Side Pant
Again a Tie Side Pants works well as the detailing on the side gives the pant a focus.
The Retro Pants also look great as they are cut straight across the hip area.
Coastline High Waisted Pant
This group of ladies are also very lucky as they can get away with the hardest look of all, the High Waisted Pant.
Another pant that looks amazing on the smaller frame but isn’t really a great seller in the UK, is the daring Brazilian Pant, a very small tie side pant that generally has a sweetheart back to it. Oh we wish!!!!
This is probably the normal area that women feel least confident about. Please don’t worry it’s easily sorted out, no need to think your bikini days are numbered! Just a bit of clever coverage and your fine.
East Coast Banded Hipster Pant
Our Sash and Banded Pants are perfect for you as they have a little bit of tummy support within them, again remember there is no baggy effect with our bikini bottoms so the tightness will give you the confidence.
Coastline Ruched Side Retro Pant
The Ruched Side Retro Pant is another great choice, by having the ruched detail on the side of the pant it takes the focus away from the tummy area.
Coastline Indigo Trapeze Singlet
If you can’t quite bring yourself to wear a bikini, there is always the Tankini, again these will have the coverage and the support inside them to give you the confidence to feel stylish yet comfortable when on the beach.
We hope these few little tips gives you the confidence to carry on wearing a bikini next summer and beyond. It’s all about getting the right style for you and enjoying the feel of the sun and the sea on you bare flesh!
