     kanda knows it’s rude to stare.  especially at people trying to work.  but the child IS CURIOUS TO HOW PAINTING WORKS.  besides, his foster parents have seemingly lost him && HIS SERVICE DOG, so kanda’s curiously moving closer to look at the painting.

     while not exactly wrong, chuutarou wasn’t being entirely truthful either. he didn’t know where exactly everything is, like all the roads in the shiga prefecture or who lived in every house and where to find them-- but he did know just enough to about guess where they could be, and that’s nearly the same thing anyway!

     “listen, i know this sounds weird,”  ya nuo puts their hands up, brow furrowing DISCONTENTEDLY, clearly somewhat alarmed by the way things are heading.  “but i swear, i really don’t know where i am.  please don’t attack me.”  i don’t want to have to hurt you.

      “It would be wise not to go there, Sakichi-dono.”

      The first appearance of the stranger of the Ishida clan had surprised the twins pleasantly, though that was a time in which they did not expect the man to get into their way so often and ruining their well thought out plans repeatedly. They did not know what the master of trickery called  FATE  had planned for them this time with this peculiar encounter.

      “Should you find yourself in a dire situation, be aware that there will be nobody to come and save YOU.”

      A pause accompanied by an exchange of a glance meant for one another. The unspoken words and thoughts shared by the two unmistakingly understood and perceived in the short moment of silence. The one question plaguing their minds worrisome. So another attempt to stop the man left their lips, voices indifferent and synchronous. 

      “You may be left dead.”

     Deep eyes concentrated on the miraculous task displayed before her as hands moved without an ounce of hesitancy. The movements were fast, but not less precise and certainly not out of order. She watched in curiosity and might have wanted to learn a trick or two for herself if it was not for the obvious growl of her stomach — disrupting the steady flow of knife on cutting board — revealing the truth behind her interest in observing the man’s superior skills in this matter.

      “I’m hungry.”

      A blink is followed shortly after the revelation, and another one before the fate of the cucumber was decided and swallowed in no time. Okuni believed that making rice balls should be a simple and most importantly quick task, so she was not prepared to have to wait any longer as another growl filled the room.

      Amusement was well visible on the man’s features as he found himself in front of the place considered the Kumou’s garden, an area home to various living beings — plants and animals and the most frequent guest being the lovely tanuki, enticed by the infinite warmth emitted by those who inhabit the shrine possess. However odd, the spirit has involuntarily found itself a rival. The man, hardworking, swinging his sword expertly in what appears to be a dance.

      “Quite bold of you to simply use our garden for your own purposes, Sakicchan.”

      Slow and lazy steps were taken to approach the visitor, his mood not once dropping as the raven halted at a reasonable distance with his hold onto his own treasured weapon. The end of the sheathed sword directed towards the other.

      “Let me be a good host and entertain you — shall we?”
