RFR End of Summer Stretch

We love getting out on the road and playing shows here at RFR. If we had our way, we’d be living out of suitcases and using our YMCA memberships to shower in cities across the country.

In that spirit, we’ve decided to go a little end of summer stretch playing three dates back to back starting on Thursday September 21 at the Hideout in Toronto, then to the Asylum in Sudbury, and finally to the Apollo in Thunder Bay on Saturday September 23.

Come out and rock with us as we celebrate the equinox and get wild.

Let’s dance, because it you aren’t dancing, you’re dying.

We’ve been working hard getting everything ready for our next release, “Lift You Up”. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks as we start to show you more and more of what we have in store. We are really happy with how the album turned out and we can’t wait to show it to you all.

Sunday Night Shenanigans

Last Friday at the Bovine was a riot. We got our cosplay on, cirrhoded our livers, and got to kick off the cobwebs from a summer off stage. So...

This Sunday Nov 6 we’re back at the Bovine with our buddies The Reed Effect in support of The Hazytones from Montreal. Now, I wouldn’t expect to see any costumes, but I would expect a loud-ass show in a chill-ass space. 

Doors at 9. Our brothers in the Reed Effect are kicking off the night followed by the Hazytones, and yours truly.

Silver Dollar - July 2nd

Looks like we'll be taking a break from getting studio ready to put on a show at the The Silver Dollar Room in Toronto on July 2. We'll be wrapping up the night and bringing that same high energy, crazy eyed, wall of badassery that you've come to know as Return For Refund.

CMW Showcase @ Cherry Cola’s

Hello All,

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It isn’t Christmas. Christmas sucks. No, it’s CMW, a week full of amazing music in the city, and we’re going to be taking part for the second time.

We’ll be showing off what we’ve been cooking in the RFR kitchen on May 6 @ Cherry Cola’s. We’re on at 10 pm sharp.

It’s a 4/20 Celebration!

Alright, we're feeling loose and limber after a couple shows last week. Let's do it again this Wednesday at the Supermarket Restaurant and Bar. It's 4/20 and it's only appropriate that we pay homage to the sweet leaf that is responsible for so much of the music we write and have been inspired by.

Oh yeah, we're also celebrating the birthday of a beauty of a man, Anthony Dell'Orso from Of The Bear Bookings. It's a privilege to take the stage for a man responsible for bringing so many like minded people together in the Toronto music scene.

Come out and pay your respects to two beautiful creations that ask for so little, yet have given so much.

The Ides of April - Barrie

Hi,

Is there an Ides of April? One always hears about the Ides of March and all that Caesar business, but one never hears mention of any other Ides. We’re going out on a limb, chopping the month in two, and iding it. 

To celebrate this potential first of April Ides, we will be taking a short drive, up a wide, straight highway, to the Roxy Theatre Side Room in Barrie. The usual details apply (we’ll be playing in the middle of the night for a minimal cover). It’s a great sounding room with a stage big enough to let a bunch of goons like us stretch our legs a bit. It should be fun.

Come and aggrandize trivial events into ceremony to be mindlessly recreated for years to come, or have a drink. Whatever works.
