As the shouting and pointing intensified, along with the splitting headache he had, Ryou’d had enough. “WILL THE BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!?” Two shocked expressions quickly turned in his direction.

As for the prompt...

So...I started writing this using the Returned AU and well...it mutated into something. Unfortunately there is another Returned addition that was also inspired a bit by an older prompt (that I completely forgot about until this turned into another addition), and I want to finish that one and post it before this one on AO3 (I want to be able to mark Returned as part of a series and post each part in order, if that makes sense?).

I won't leave you empy-handed though! I have the first 156 words that I can share without spoiling anything below the cut!

TK continued to lazily flick through channels as Ryou walked through the door after a long day of work.

"How was your day?" he asked casually.

"Fine. I may or may not have met a ghost." Ryou replied.

TK didn’t have to turn his head to know that his partner was smiling at the idea.

“You didn’t bring it home, right?” he asked jokingly.

No answer.

TK immediately turned and faced Ryou.

“Ry, you didn’t bring it home…right??” he asked again, this time more insistent on an answer.

Ryou’s eyes shifted around nervously, avoiding eye contact.

“For fucks sake, Ry! Didn’t you learn your lesson with the last spirit you let possess you?!” TK asked in disbelief.

Ryou immediately glared at him with a scowl.

“Seeing as I’m now dating the last spirit that possessed me, what do you think?”

TK immediately sank back into the sofa in defeat, a palm across his face in exasperation.

This is definitely Returned AU material. TK is TKB for those who haven't read this fic.

"I'm not ruining anything, I'm enhancing it." The death-glare TK received as a response told him he was very close to a trip back to the Afterlife. The tool he’d been holding in his hand clattered loudly on the table, shattering the threatening silence of the room. “Ya know, on second thought, I think it could do without my touch,” he said nervously. Ryou leaned in close, following TK as he tried to lean away until he was trapped against the wall, their faces too uncomfortably close for TK’s liking at the moment. “Do. NOT. Touch. ANYTHING. In. MY. Crafting space. Understood?” TK quickly nodded his head, wondering if the only reason he’d gotten away with altering Ryou’s Monster Word figures-in-progress before was because at the time they’d shared a body.

(For the 1st line fanfic ask <3)

Up early and had a bit of time to kill. Decided this prompt fits the Returned universe. You get a bit more than 5 lines lol

"Tell me you didn't steal it,” Ryou demanded, refusing to accept the box of new (and expensive) paints that TK had presented as a gift. TK hesitated before replying. “I didn’t steal it.” Ryou covered his face with a single palm. “Tee-Kaaaay…” he said in exasperation. “Did you forget the one rule I made about staying here?” There was a brief pause, which prompted Ryou to peek through his fingers. TK was just standing there looking a bit dumbfounded. “Ummm…I haven’t tried to kill anyone…recently…” Ryou threw his hands up in defeat. “I don’t know why I bother…” he said while snatching the box out of TK’s hand to put it away.

I've mentioned it a few times now, but I've been slowly adding to a sequel chapter for Returned (actually two sequels, meaning I'll be adding another series to my AO3).

Returned AU lives rent-free in my head, and it's been banging on the brainrot door lately. I don't get much beyond a few hundred words at a time on current sequel, but I gotta share my favorite part so far.
