With corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and a perfectly fried egg between two pieces of toasted rye bread, this burger is a tasty take on both the classic Reuben sandwich and the Croque Madame.
Ingredients: 1/2 lb ground beef. 2 slices Swiss cheese. 2 slices rye bread. 2 slices cooked corned beef. 2 slices sauerkraut. 2 slices cooked bacon. 2 eggs. 2 tablespoons Russian dressing. 1 tablespoon butter. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then shape it into a patty. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patty to your desired doneness, adding a slice of Swiss cheese on top to melt during the last minute of cooking. While the patty is cooking, toast the rye bread slices until they are lightly browned. In a separate skillet, cook the bacon until it's crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside. In the same skillet with bacon drippings, fry the eggs to your preferred level of doneness. Season with salt and pepper. Assemble the burger: Place one slice of toasted rye bread on a plate, add the cooked corned beef, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. Place the cooked beef patty with melted Swiss cheese on top of the sauerkraut. Add the cooked bacon slices and then the fried egg on top of the beef patty. Finish with the second slice of toasted rye bread. Serve your Toasted Reuben Madame Burger immediately, and enjoy!
