Jon Foley and Todd Reubold of the University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment refer to Minnesota as the Silicone Valley of Sustainability. They point to the wealth of research institutions, the number of Fortune 500 companies doing sustainability research and work as well as the environmentally-concious culture in the region. Minnesota is a regional, national and global force for sustainable change.
