Reus 2 is even better after the cataclysm update and the ice age dlc. Like it is so freaking good.

Oh man, there are so many good ones. A personal favorite that I feel like no one has ever heard of is Reus and its sequel, Reus 2, by Abbey Games. The first game is basically an inside-out RTS, where you instead of harvesting resources and building units, you control the map and the resources, and the units spawn themselves and build what they want. The second game is similar but it's less real-time and more puzzle-like. Both games are about finding optimum synergies between different resources to maximize the value of each one. It's got a relatively short, compelling loop that I adore. Highly recommend.
Look at them! They made them pets and put bows on them!
Okay I am shouting about reus 2 again. Like it is so fucking good and fun and cute. Best game ever.
