Temperature Monitoring in Logistics: Single Use Loggers vs Reusable Loggers
Storage of sensitive products like medicines and chemicals comes with tons of challenges. One of the biggest challenges that cold chain logistics have to face is maintaining the right temperature. Even though you may maintain the right temperature, it is essential to constantly monitor the temp to ensure that the products are safe inside.
With that thing in mind, temperature loggers are used. Loggers will monitor the temperature in frequent intervals and create a detailed report to ensure temperature compliance. Mainly there are two types of loggers: single-use and reusable loggers. As the name suggests reusable can be used multiple times whereas the former can only be used once.
When it comes to picking the right one, then it entirely depends on its usage. Both of these loggers can provide PDF and CSV report on the taken readings automatically. Single-use loggers can have a recording time of up to 180-days but can only be used once. On the other hand, reusable ones can be used multiple times.
The best thing about both of these loggers is that they do not require any additional software to evaluate the cold chain. In addition to that, the single-use loggers are reprogrammable as per the requirements of the user. The other features are the same on both of the types of loggers.
Picking the right one depends on the need of the cold chain. Both of them can provide the right results that allow you to have an insight into the temperature to ensure the safety of the products.
