I found this at our local scrap store yesterday. It's a flyer for a spinning wheel. Now, I don't have a wheel, except the old great wheel I'm working on (which doesn't use one of these), but I often see old wheels for sale that are missing their flyers, so I posted it in a fiber group on fb to ask how interchangeable they are.
The answer is that they're not that interchangeable, but this goes to a popular type of wheel (Ashford Trad & Traveller). Immediately people were offering to sell me the rest of the wheel (I wish! Ain't got wheel $$), or to buy the flyer and double my money. All within like 10 min, while I was still walking around the store.
So I bought it, and I'm gonna make 15 bucks AND make somebody happy, because she's got the wheel but no flyer, and she's gonna get this one for ~half what it costs new.
People even wanted to know if I also bought the pin loom in the corner of the picture. This store actually has a lot of fiber tools, at low prices, though usually not ones I want. I guess I've got a new tiny business venture: find fiber shit at the scrap shop, ask fb what it's worth, sell at a profit while getting somebody else a deal too. It ain't gonna make me rich, but I think it's worth my while.
