FORGIVENESS AND REVENGE. when you're looking death in the eyes, none of it really seems to matter anymore. every day felt getting closer to the edge. his body was heavy, his mind was foggy. it was difficult to distinguish what memories were his and what memories were tainted by johnny silverhand. even when songbird managed to free him of his parasite, if only for a short amount of time, it felt like ripping off skin with a bandaid. the realization was heavy. there was no more v without johnny and vice versa.
the demon inside of him yearns for revenge. arasaka hq, round two. but there's very little left in him that wants to go out in a blaze of glory. the quiet life, a quiet death, sounds all the more appealing. valentine heaves a sigh and takes a long drag of the cheap cigarette between his fingers. embers are flicked away with the ashes. he hated the taste this shit left in his mouth, but the nicotine had a chokehold on his system. that or johnny's cravings.
"ain't got much left in me, so mi. this revenge shit? best to just look the other way, take your get out of jail free card and run with it. reed's dead. myers couldn't give two shits about you or him either." he speaks honestly. it wasn't about forgiveness for either of them. it was about living, right? finding some level of normalcy in this shitshow of a life.
he puts out the cigarette, stomps it out under his sneakers. his gaze is slow to meet hers, but there's an genuine look in his eyes. " just, take your wings and fly away with 'em. get the hell outta this city. do somethin' with your second chance. i want you to have that. if anything comes from any of this."
