Sick Puppies Live at The Glass House
A few days ago I traveled down the West Coast to Pomona, CA. The reason I was there? To see Sick Puppies on tour on July 20th, celebrating the release of their latest album, titled Connect.
The first act to take the stage was a band named Sederra, hailing from Orange County. Their blend of indie and hard rock, combined with the band members' passionate energy on stage, made them one of the best opening acts I have ever seen.
The next act was Reverend Crow, a trio also hailing from south California. Their music was definitely very melodic and had most of the crowd swaying along.
And finally, Sick Puppies took the stage. The lights began flashing, and the unbearable anticipation was palpable as we saw the drummer, Mark Goodwin, sneak onto the set. Shim, lead vocalist and guitarist, and Emma, backup vocalist and bassist, ran out soon after him, launching into "Die To Save You", their first song off of their new record, Connect.
(You can find more videos from the concert on my YouTube channel.)
The band played a variety of songs from all three of their records. Shim had the whole jumping as they played "Connect", telling us to put our hands on the person in front of us and "connect" with each other.
Another moment during the concert was when he attempted to crowd surf by jumping into the very much surprised people next to me! It didn't last for long as the security guard pulled him back over the barricade and we had to hoist him back up.
Honestly, seeing Sick Puppies live was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. I even got to meet the band, and that was absolutely priceless!
What are some of your favorite memories from a concert you went to?
