Reverent 🌿
What did Jesus mean when he said we have to hate our lives, our parents, siblings, spouse and children (Luke 14:26)? He meant that our love for God should be so overwhelming, so all encompassing that our love for anything else appears as hate by comparison.
Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Only this moment is life. (Thich Nhat Hanh. Drink Your Tea)
We are as forlorn as children lost in the woods. When you stand in front of me and look at me, what do you know of the griefs that are in me and what do I know of yours? And if I were to cast myself down before you and weep and tell you, what more would you know about me than you know about Hell when someone tells you it is hot and dreadful? For that reason alone we human beings ought to stand before one another as reverently, as reflectively, as lovingly, as we would before the entrance to Hell.
Franz Kafka
I want someone to kiss my hands
The highest form of success, is to behold, and ever defend the significance of every person, as reverently and devoutly, as your own. — Bryant McGill
