This song makes me think about Reverse!Agent Lads a lot, usually Dan, but I realized while listening to it yesterday that this section in particular could be really devastating in the context of some Kevin backstory (both reverse and main au ^-^) that I haven't discussed yet.

Ok so I saw this and thought about it while I showered because that's obviously the best place to think of ideas.
this is all subject to change if I find something more compelling!!
With that being said: i think the direction of their relationship is the same (the trio -> Dan) but the power dynamics change!
The trio still wants him. They're actually pretty good at hiding it- they are in the main au, too, but they want Dan to know. I'm unsure if they all know that they're into him (like main au) or if they all think they're on their own.
Kevin falls head over heels. He finds him charming and handsome, and his inner monologue whenever they're having a tense standoff is mostly WE SHOULD MAKE OUT on loop. and then Dan does something particularly cruel or bloody or honestly maybe just something Kevin finds distasteful. And its like a bucket of ice cold water and he's normal again until they meet again and Dan is just as funny and cute and Kevin starts contemplating the weight of the blood on his own hands.
Seán... I'm not totally sure what to do with Seán yet! In the main au he experiences. basically extreme cuteness aggression. he finds Dan so attractive he needs to punch him in the face and make him bleed and cry. I don't think that's the vibe for the reverse au!!! even reversed (ha) so its Dan -> Seán doesn't really fit. Maybe he's a true crime buff or something and is very normal over violence and Dan. Idk, I'll come back to it!
Brian hates Dan's guts. He's an asshole who acts like he deserves the world and people are idiotic enough to nearly give it to him just because hes, what, funny? Handsome? Is that all that matters? Does the fact that this man shot someone in the face last week mean nothing. and then Idk he has a DreamTM (you can imagine >:3) or something like that and has the angriest OH FUCK NO moment of all time when he realizes that he is unfortunately one of those idiots who finds him hot. He still doesn't really like him.
Dan doesn't realize this at first I think. Daithi has to point it out to him because he can see how down bad they are plain as day. Once he knows though, he 100% takes advantage of it. He's on the losing end of a fight? He leans in a little too close until Kevin can feel his breath on his neck. He needs to make a quick getaway? He presses close to Seán, runs a finger over his cheek, and drops a nickname as he dashes away.
Dan and Daithi might (genuine might, I'm undecided not being coy) also have a nebulous undefined relationship that's perhaps a bit closer than a boss and his employee should be. I'm not sure yet

Ok so yesterday I watched a hr-ish long documentary on the American mob- and idk if this is common knowledge or today's 10,000 or what, but Las Vegas was lowkey (to my understanding! if this is wrong I'm so sorry!!!) kinda kickstarted by the mob. The Flamingo Hotel was built in 1946 and opened in 1946-1947 (twice) by a reporter (Billy Wilkerson) (who founded the Hollywood reporter and was coincidentally was the guy who had the newspaper column that kickstarted McCarthyism and the red scare in the 40's) and Bugsy Siegel, a prominent mobster! Bugsy died in 1947 in a still-unsolved murder, which is a tangent but pretty cool. The Flamingo is still around today, and it was the first of many mob-owned ventures in Las Vegas!
ANYWAYS I got off topic. Today while thinking about the agents au, it started spinning in combination with this documentary, and then I started thinking about Dan's Balatro stuff in combo with those and that's how I knew I was fucked.
In this hypothetical reverse au, Dan is a casino tycoon and a prominent figure in the underworld. The trio of villains (and other less important villains I haven't mentioned yet) in the main au are all leading double lives- not reverse!Dan! He's out and proud about his ties to villainy. Visually, picture his vtuber but I gave him a jester theme and brighter purple. His TENTATIVE name in my head is The Dealer :D
I haven't figured out where Daithi fits yet- head of Dan's security? His main muscle? Something about how in the main au Daithi is in charge of Dan as his handler and how in this au it's very firmly the other way around? I don't know, but I think there's a lot of potential to be had with that concept here.
Brian, Kevin, and Seán are still a little trio because I can't separate them. But they're a trio of agents- collectively much stronger together than they are on their own, and they work as a team. I'd imagine it's rather unorthodox for whatever AgencyTM Agents!Dan and Reverse!Trio works for to have group agents. Of course, they're all very capable on their own, but they get the best results as a unit.
Brian is still mechanical, but I'm not sure if the circumstances are the same!!! Seán's backstory changes quite a lot, but because I haven't talked about his MAIN backstory, I don't think I want to reveal how it changes yet >:) Kevin's is the same, he just made some different choices somewhere along the way. Their agent names are still undecided- if anyone has any suggestions 👀 hit me up.
Im considering if the reverse!agent lads is more of a parody of secret agent movies but also its a buddy movie- not quite like Austin Powers, but definitely different from the straight James Bond of the main au. Idk!!!! That might not be the angle I wanna take, but it's fun to think about!!!!
