For the reverse fic writer asks: 11 and 12 for TWAWKI, get as silly or as serious as you want with it. (Also 16 if you feel like it as a bonus)
Oh you really know how to pick the fun ones.
11. Make up an alternate title for one of my fics
Ok I'm going to take a number of cracks at this one and give you a little thinking as to the reasoning: 1) The Future is a Foreign Land (alt. When It All Burns Down)
This is the title to a song by Ghost I really like that's functionally about a broken up couple through multiple apocalyptic scenarios with the theme being that they can forgive and hold each other through the end. Obviously this situation isn't romantic, but I think the concept still applies. "When It All Burns Down" is the main line from the chorus.
2) Keep The Porch Light On
Idk why this one just kind of came to me. I wanted something that evokes the fact that this fic takes place entirely (at least up to this point) inside Lucanis' house, and that it is Lucanis letting Illario in that kicks off the whole thing. The idea of a porch light symbolizing hope and welcome and home, all things that feel very out of reach for these men yet are undeniably all they've got going for them right now...yeah.
Yes I do see the irony that there are no porch lights because they have no power.
3) Three Feet Under
A little play on the idiom "six feet under." They're in a grim fucking situation, but they're not dead yet, even if they might want to be. The idea that the situation is grim but there's still potential for life, for escape.
4). You, Me, and the Rats in the Walls
A bit long, but I feel like this one doesn't need any explanation
5) No Exit This Way
The inspo here is from Sarte's No Exit and the line "hell is other people," because what better way to describe this fic? But I didn't want to just straight up steal that title so I decided to expand a bit. I went with No Exit This Way thinking that "this way" is really representative of their strained relationship and their inability to talk, and that there is no exit (i.e. no path forward) if they can't find a way to reconcile their pasts and work together.
12. Write an alternate blurb for one of my fics
Your blurb as it exists is SO good it's difficult to think of a better one, but I'll give it a go.
Illario leaves the bar on a Wednesday night. By Friday night, everyone he knows is dead. Everyone, except Lucanis. Sometimes, here at the end of the world, he wishes it was anyone else.
That's it, that's the whole blurb. Sometimes short and snappy is the way to go.
