S.. so about reverse tdtlu... what would happen if reader tried to escape... and ended up injuring herself by breaking the tank. Now black has a flooded room and a floppy fish gf. Does he drag her to the bathtub? What kind of precautions are added? Can he even keep her if he has no tank?? Questions OwO (Also, I love your fics and your blog!)

Reverse TDtLU ask

Black was out fishing when it happened. He came home to see water seeping out of his door... And he quickly thought of the tank. He rushes inside to see you, on the floor with the tank cracked and spilled. There are glass shards here and there and his eyelights shrink when he sees red in the water, from where you’d cut yourself from the tank.

When you finally look up from your struggles to just move from one place to another (the cuts on you not helping), you can see the cold rage on his face. But it’s not at you. He’s not mad that you broke the tank. Hell, he’s not even upset that you tried to run away. It’s the fact that you got hurt. He’s going to quickly hold you and angrily tell you to be careful. You’re on land, don’t you know how easy it is for you to get hurt? You need him!

Thankfully unlike TDtLU reader, mermaid reader can breathe air, but she still needs water for moisture (Sometimes Black takes her out of the tank to hold her... She needs to hold onto him so she doesn’t fall off, and he likes that..). Black needs a tank to keep her mostly for those reasons but if it’s only for a short while he can use a substitute. For the moment he is going to put her in a tub until he can fix the tank (which not only needs some repairs to the glass/walls, but the tank also has specialized water, so it’ll be a while.)

When she’s moved back to the tank, the glass is higher, and the top is covered with thick rubber. And in addition to that, Black’s going to take a page out of his alternate self and place bones over the tank. Being on land she should have a hard time escaping even if she did get out of the tank, but considering her silly little attempt... He’s going to instill something that stops her from making bad decisions again.

For Reverse TDtLU, I can just imagine the mermaid mc being really fascinated with just everything! What is that spinning thing on the ceiling? Why does that box change colours? What are buttons? Can I eat it? Why is that brick in your hand talking? Do I have a twin?! Huh? What's a mirror?

She’s always been curious about land even from the limited things she can see from the shore- so now that she’s actually on land, in a house??? Wow, how did he get to “grow” his house into something like this? She didn’t know grass on land would look so similar to that she finds in the sea! How do they survive being somewhere so dry?? What the heck was that animal she saw moving around from beyond the trees, it didn’t have legs it had round things...???

She might’ve been kidnapped by someone completely obsessed with her, but that doesn’t mean she’s not amazed by what’s around her. Black loves the look in her eyes when she looked around.. Seeing the fear turn into curiosity. He doesn’t mind indulging in her questions, far from ever being bothered by it- he loves how cute she looks when she’s fascinated.

She was definitely in awe when she got to see herself clearly for the first time- sure she sometimes saw a bit of herself on the ocean surface for a while, but she’s never seen it with such clarity before. Black can’t help but agree... You’re really a marvel to look at.

I think she’d find out about phones when Red breaks her out of his house- calling his brother for help or for anything else.... Technology is such an amazing thing. And Red can’t help but indulge just as much from the way her eyes sparkle when she sees she can move all those little squares on the screen with her finger, while gripping onto him with one hand.... Red... really likes the way she has to cling onto him and how her fishtail kinda flops to his side a bit... N-not that it means anything to him.

so with that ask about a reverse tdtlu, what if when black ever tried to give any affection of some kind to the reader, how would be react if she struggled, or out right refused? because you said something along the lines of black likes to take the reader out of her tank thingy and hold her, but she never refused (as far as I'm concerned). so what would his reaction be?

Well... She’s like TDtLU reader, in that she doesn’t really have a choice in the matter whenever he wants to hold her. And if she tried to refuse or struggled... Honestly, that’s what he was expecting. He might be completely lost in his obsession for her, but even he knows that she wouldn’t like being taken away. He just needs to convince her that he’s the best for her... She’ll learn to love him back, in time....

When she backs away from him in the tank when he reaches for her, he’ll chuckle. “what do you think you’re doing? all i want to do is to hold you... i won’t hurt you.” He gives her a chance to come to him on her own. If she doesn’t... Well. You being away in the ocean never stopped him from reaching out for what he wants and taking it for himself... Why should this be any different?

Like when reader tried to escape in the original fic by swimming away, only to have him drag her back down with his tentacles and cage her in bones, in reverse tdtlu he’d only have to reach out and grab her soul. She’s immobile all of a sudden and he only needs to tug his phalanges for her to come to him... She’ll struggle, and he won’t lie that he likes feeling her soul squirming in his magic hold, or the slaps of her tail when he has her... He’ll just need to calm her down, soothe her. It’s ok, he’s not hurting her... if she wants that grip on her soul to be released, she’ll have to relax.

He’s done so much for her, he’ll do anything to get what he wants.

Okay, so I kinda have an obsession with snow globes... And last night while I was trying to fall asleep, I randomly imagined what would happen if someone lived in a snow globe, which led to the thought... What if in Reverse TDtLU, MC was a really tiny mermaid, and Sans just kept her in like a small fishbowl or something?

odfsjdk when you said snow globe, I most definitely thought of something else......... But yeah why not fish bowl au for reverse tdtlu <u<

I would imagine it to be similar to the fairy idea I had a while back. A fusion of that and TDtLU. She wouldn’t have talked to him, but just the sight of her after that tiring day was enough to lift his spirits, watching her flit around along with the other tiny fish... And then like the fairy au thoughts I had, he’d observe her for a long time, not moving for hours so that he’d blend into the background. Studying all he can... It’d be much easier to transport her too, because unlike the fairy au- she’s not a fairy, and unlike regular reverse tdtlu, he wouldn’t have to make nearly as much preparations- a small aquarium already made for fish would do. Capturing her would be as difficult as catching any other tiny fish (very nimble and agile... again, like a fairy....) but as soon as he has her out of the water, she has no escape left. Bring her like you would a captured fish, like a bucket. It’s temporary, he knows it’s not the nicest way of carrying her, but he wouldn’t want to accidentally crush her on the way home. And also, no one gets suspicious of someone carrying a bucket from the beach... Even if they know there’s something inside. Seeing someone carry fish in a bucket from the beach ain’t the most surprising thing now is it? Much easier than carrying a regular-sized unconscious mermaid, anyways.

Has the combined adoration of the original Black, with the added “so small and pretty...” thoughts one would for something small and delicate, like again, the other au. Her chances of escaping on her own are practically 0... Just like how he’d like it.
