Extract:
"Shh.." The low voice matched the rough fingertips as they stilled him. "I'm not done patching you up."
Part of Matt tried to raise an alarm. Something about that voice was supposed to set off warning bells, but the drugs in his system were dulling the instinct and allowing the deep seated comfort the voice brought to flood him instead.
Matt relaxed back into the gurney and allowed himself to drift back to sleep as the fingers slowly resumed patching him up.
