MCST 2200: What is Television Pt. 2 FINAL POST due SUNDAY, 5/15 @ 5pm (revised deadline)
This assignment finalizes your draft Tumblr post that was due on 4/30 with any changes or missing elements to you in-depth research and analysis into a narrow, and clear, and well-supported research question you will develop about about an aspect of the current state of television of your choice (note the requirement for a narrow and clear research question -- your post should not be a broad and vague rambling on a large topic -- it should narrow in on an issue that clearly defines what television is today, have sources that support a thesis about both the topic and what television is today, and should not leave the reader wondering “so what?”). Your post should be 750-1000 words using a MINIMUM of four hyperlinked popular press sources, two academic sources (academic/scholarly journal articles), and at least three embedded images or videos. Minimums = average work = C grade, so think above and beyond. Per our syllabus, academic sources should use APA style (see the hyperlink, which is also listed in our syllabus) for BOTH in-text citations and be listed as works cited (also APA style) at the end of your post. Plan ahead and make appointments to use the Writing Center for help with your work, including APA style.
Again, you’re not just re-writing your general definition of what television is today this time. Instead, you need to drill down into a specific issue of the current state of television per our readings and class discussions so far this term..
Please see the announcements on ULearn (or your email) for a schedule of times I can meet to help you with this, but also remember to use the librarians and the Writing Center as a resource, as there is only one of me and several of them.
Your final post is due on your Tumblr Sunday, 5/15 by 5pm MT and is 20% of your total grade. Late assignments will lose a letter grade for each 24 hour-period they are late and will not be accepted more than 48 hours after the deadline (5pm on Tuesday, 5/17). Keep in mind that you also have another, longer analysis post due on Wednesday, 5/18 that is worth 25% of your final grade will absolutely not be accepting late work, so plan and manage your time wisely on these two projects.
Remember to tag your post with “mcst 2200″ and your last name.
