SUNDAY, LAST DAY OF LARISSA FAIR.
NEAR THE END OF THE BONFIRE.
As the embers flicker off the top of the bonfire, it all seems fairly normal --- if you ignore the dancing gods and nymphs, all surrounding the fire that marks the birth of the town of Larissa. Facts and mythology are intertwined in the one night where neither really matters to those that have attended the celebration. Fun, music, food and wine are all part of the last night of Larissa’s fair and many wish this night never came to an end.
Suddenly, time slows down so much so that everyone around you seems completely still ---- everything is so clear and yet unfocused. There’s silence around you, as you blink more and more as if trying to make everything around you less blurry. You noticed thin red lines connecting you to fourteen other people, all intertwined together. You’re all connected but you don’t know how or why.
It’s then that you notice that only you and those fourteen other people seem to be the only ones that are moving normally, breathing normally --- existing normally. You are the only ones aware that something is going on whilst everyone around you keeps... still. None of you can speak, though, no matter how much you try. None of you can move your feet, no matter how strong you are.
And then, there’s an incessant and loud ringing. You cover your ears to try and make it hurt less but to no avail; it’s all around you. Even though you can’t see the other fourteen, you know that you are not going through this alone. For a few seconds, the ringing is all you can hear. Then it stops and for a few heartbeats, your ears have some peace.
You think it’s all over but before your chest can rest in relief, someone starts speaking. No... not someone. You look around and see no one but your brothers in arms. There’s no one there but the fifteen of you. It’s hard to tell but you’re sure there are three disembodied voices, all speaking in unison and yet with such distinguishing tones.
Fifteen essences shall answer the call
Or otherwise, doom us all
To return the four the golden mantle stole
For the pit never releases a soul
Poison runs through Larissa since their return
Olympus will stand tall or burn
They were monotone and they spoke only once yet their words replay inside your mind once more. Suddenly, you hear more ringing, this time so much louder. Before you can process the whole thing, everything has gone back to normal and, for a few moments, you feel like something has sucked the energy out of you. You stand in the middle of the crowd; people are walking normally again and the bonfire no longer moves in slow motion. You look around to see the exact same look of confusion on the fourteen faces that experienced the same thing you did.
No matter who you are, no matter who the others around you are, there’s one question that plagues your mind as it does theirs: what does this all mean?
There it is — our first plot drop! We are so, so excited to start this rollercoaster with you. It’s going to be a long journey and this is just the start. We’ve laid out what has happened to the characters at the bonfire and we can’t wait to see how your characters react to it! This occurence is now canon, so don’t forget! Go wild with the plots! You are not limited by what we wrote and we want to see you guys take it and mold it. Try and branch out, feel free to plot a series of actions beyond what you read, with anyone you like! We anticipate this plot’s aftermath to last a while as characters put the prophecy together. Don’t hesitate to use the conspiracy theories channel ;) and if you have any questons or notice something that doesn’t quite add up (it happens to the best of us!) let us know!
The event will come to an end on Monday morning GMT and a post will be made then to signal it. Until then, feel free to start new threads both involving the fair and now the bonfire + plot drop! Just keep in mind that any thread that happens after the bonfire will have to feature this plot drop!
If you have any questions, please send them to either the main or the members questions channel!
