The time is at hand For the church to rise up and repentance before the Lord, and to follow his every word. The Holy Spirit cannot move until the churches are on obedient.
The problem is there’s too many liberal churches today, that are not following the Lord Jesus Christ. The roots of the early Christian church go back to Pentecost, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit which was initiated with speaking in tongues, and miracles. It wasn’t just the apostles either as some groups like to claim, there were disciples who also were gifted with laying on of hands, and had ministry Of the supernatural power of God flowing through them. After all Jesus said he would give us power to be his witnesses.
Mark 16:7 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. These signs will follow them that believe, they would lay hands on the sick and people would recover, they shall speak with new tongues. A true revival of the Holy Spirit will have these characteristics, if we’re going to be true to our roots that is. This dissension, and departure from faith and miracles, is foreign to anything of the New Testament, and the gospels as far as that is concerned. The ministry of Jesus was plenty full of miracles of healings and supernatural signs and wonders.
Jesus said these things I do you shall do even greater. John 14:12) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. There is however a group of Christians who are against speaking in tongues, miracles, and supernatural signs and wonders. For whatever reason they don’t believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever. They believe that somehow he has changed and doesn’t do these things anymore. They have basically concluded that any miracle that is done in Jesus name is done through human origin rather than the divine hand of God. I don’t understand how human beings could perform miracles that glorify Jesus Christ, that doesn’t make any sense to me at any level. I don’t understand how people that need supernatural assistance today in preaching the gospel would deny that supernatural assistance because of some arrogance that is in them.
It is truly a mystery to me, if we would just read the Book of Acts through the lens of the Holy Spirit in which it was written, we would understand that this is a history lesson to teach us what the church was supposed to be doing, and how it was supposed to do it. There is nothing in the New Testament at all that says signs and miracles would cease during the age of the gospel. When you read through Paul’s letter to the 1Corinthians 12 and 14th chapters, you actually see a structure in which he lays out how the gifts of the spirit would operate in the church. This was something that God was not going to do away with. He would’ve said this somewhere in these scriptures, however we don’t find that at all, in fact ,rather we find that there is a continuum here in which he lays out for the church to follow. Paul himself prayed in tongues, and wished everyone else would so also. This doesn’t sound like somebody that was believing there to be a phasing out of the gifts of the spirit, but to the contrary, He was vigorous and encouraging the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate in the church. Then why do those naysayers and doubters today say that the gifts of the Holy Spirit doesn’t perform such miracles today that it would end with the last apostles. Because they don’t want to have to admit that they’re wrong Doctrinally, and they don’t want to have to admit that just because there are a few nut jobs out there that don’t really handle the spirit in the right manner, that there are still true genuine gifts and moving of the Holy Spirit, because then that would mean they’d have to apologize to Pentecostals across the world.but Thats not going to happen, because it’s pride and arrogance that keeps them from admitting that there is a true moving of the Holy Spirit and gifts according to the Scriptures. For them to have to admit this would revolutionize and change their whole ministries, because they have based their whole ministries on attacking charismatics and Pentecostals. But even Billy Graham in his latter days, gave credit to some Pentecostal organizations across the world for their vast missionary efforts. For instance, the Assemblies of God denomination is the largest missionary movement in the world. They have been spreading the Gispel with the power,signs, and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. Sounds a lot like Paul’s ministry.(Romans 15:4) So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.through the power of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders. Paul said he did the preaching of the word with power with corresponding gifts of the spirit, by this power the gospel was preached throughout Europe. Those that are hanging onto these old archaic arguments against Pentecostals and those that believe in gifts of the spirit and speaking in tongues, is something that really should make us all shake our head at, and get over. I’d reach my hand across the aisle to anyone who doesn’t believe the way I do, because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. It only matters that I believe it, and that the Holy Spirit is accompanying my ministry and what I’m doing for him. But I am saddened for my brethern that don’t believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, that don’t allow the fan of the Holy Spirit to flame revival. To my Dear Baptist brothers and sisters in whom I share the same passion for soul winning, it is the Baptist church that has been solely against the moving of the Holy Spirit, more than any other denomination of the world. It’s no wonder that the Baptist Church in general is the only denomination left in the world that hasn’t experienced a genuine outpouring of the Holy Spirit., But when you are impervious to the spirit of God, and say that those that speak in tongues are of the devil, and make accusations that are based not on scripture, but religious pride,Then it is no wonder they haven’t received any of the latter rain revival that has poured out over the world by God himself. I don’t write these things in hate against any other Christians.
Sodom, which had no Bible, no preachers, no tracts, no prayer meetings, no churches, perished. How then will America and England be spared from the wrath of the Almighty, think you? We have millions of Bibles, scores of thousands of churches, endless preachers—and yet what sin!
