Lately as I've been trying to heal from love wounds, I've learned a great deal from books I hadn't revisited since high school such as Morrison's "Beloved." This quote is a reminder to never settle for anything other than what we truly deserve. I love thickly and strongly, and this piece is a promise, that I will cherish those who love me thickly and move forward when thin love won't do. When I think of thick love, the only color I can imagine is pure gold. I painted this with the hope that we can love ourselves golden.
