— ღ for a drabble about a romance/their love life
Harleen stared down at her notebook, a mechnical pencil to her lips as she went over her list of admirers. People who were head over heels and obvious about it, the shy ones...even the ones who might not like her that much, but had the possibility of falling deeper for her.
As the usual for Gotham, it was raining outside. Honestly, did this place ever have any other weather aside from overcast, gloomy, and raining? Harleen was beginning to believe that such a thing as “sunlight” never really existed...
A knock on her door had her to her feet, discarding the notebook into her backpack as she adjusted herself for what must be one of the lovestruck boys who tailored to her needs and fawned over whenever they got the chance to. The door opened and that was confirmed by the ruffled, unkempt ginger hair and blues peering at her, hopefully shy, from behind his glasses.
“Fred! A delight,” she said warmly, a smile blooming on her face. His own flushed as he nodded and held out a folder.
“H-here ya go, Harleen... The paper you asked me to do!”
“Awwe, thank you!” To be so sweet was sickening, but whatever she had to do in order to get through this place, the better off she’d be. She kissed him on the forehead, thanked him again, and managed to get him off her back with relative ease.
Once the footsteps became near quietly dim, Harleen sighed in aggravation and looked over the papers. It wasn’t bad at all... This should do her some good for this assignment!
After all, her only goal was to get in and out of school as soon as possible, no matter the means. Then she could get into Arkham and start delving into the minds of the world’s greatest...! Maybe even find a reason for her father’s own horrible choices while she was there. Nothing says “success” quite like a ton of money from the novels she’d print and figuring out her own father....
Surely, all things would go right, then.
