#ethicalfashion menswear @CockandBullmen arrive in Brick Lane, and I start salivating.
Sound the klaxons, beat the banjos, pop on the kettle!
Cock & Bull & Co have set up shop in Brick Lane, and I’m rolling up my sleeves to spaff 300 words of sheer overexcitement.
I was introduced to ethical menswear brand Cock & Bull & Co by my friend Veronica Crespi (London’s first slow fashion consultant and founder of Rewardrobe) a couple of weeks before their fabulous launch in Cheshire Street.
Cock & Bull has the most delicious line of clothing and accessories. Just so we’re quite clear, this is very serious fashion journalism and definitely not an excellent excuse to perv on a bearded chap with a fabulous arse in gorgeous organic briefs. Behold!
I am utterly delighted that Cock & Bull have opened in London. We’re short on sustainable fashion bricks-and-mortar shops, and we’re seriously short on a decent menswear offering. The under crackers are organic cotton, the prints are un-fussy and flattering, the tweed is Scottish, and the whole lot is is made in the UK.
I arrived at the launch in September, handed a G&T and was immediately directed towards the knitwear (mmm), and had I seen their line of hand-finished shirting?
The launch itself was a total delight. It was relaxed (rare) and friendly (rarer). Plus it was a shameless excuse to catch up with old friends Arthur&Henry and Elvis&Kresse.
The goody bag was generous, and I discovered Conscious Skincare, an organic skincare brand (based in Wales) which you can buy from the shop. Old favourites People Tree made an appearance (a collar necklace, which is always good fun to chuck on over a dress), and a Cock & Bull t-shirt. The printed bag itself lives in my handbag (replacing a rather tatty Pure bag from the SS11 tradeshow).
Jumping on the Christmas gift ideas brandwagon early, I’m working out which chap in my life is desperately lacking the Cock & Bull hemp Fisherman scarf.
