                                 ♚; When the demon was sealed so was Shizuka's fate. Her duty is to protect the shrine and keep the demon in eternal sleep. She isn't allowed to be a normal girl and she isn't allowed to be tempted by the pleasures of the world, this includes love. Her parents entrusted her the shrine with their dying breathes and cursed her to keep the rest of humanity from death. Shizuka has accepted this to some extent.

Shizuka is cursed to live forever or more so until the demon is completely destroyed. If she is ever killed during her duty she will be reincarnated with no memories of her past life except the mission to protect the Chiba shrine well. This will continue until something puts a stop to it.

If Shizuka is ever killed it is said that she will die by the hands of someone she loves dearly. She will die due to her own faults and with every rebirth the spell will try to rid her of this fate or it will repeat. Shizuka's soul is bound to this world for something her parent's couldn't destroy.
