being a forest cryptid is great and all, we've talked about it a million times. but consider; desert, cave, liminal, mountain, ocean, and plains cryptids. might draw these later but rn im just puking up ideas.
Desert cryptids slowly ambling along the endless sands, black eyes staring endlessly forward. it leaves no footprints in the dry sand, walking with no destination. lost explorers see it as they take their final breaths. after storms when the desert blooms to life they too gain some blossoms of their own.
Ocean cryptids that wreck whole ships, ocean cryptids that live too deep down to ever see any. with a million eyes and glowing markings. with sleek scales or smooth skin. ocean cryptids that glide along the surface and ocean cryptids that scuttle at the bottom of the deepest oceans.
mountain cryptids powerful enough to survive the harsh conditions of the mountains. mountain cryptids that dig burrows in the thickest layers of ice and the toughest rocks. mountain cryptids with thick fur coats and eyes that watch hikers with analyzing precision.
cave cryptids that devour bioluminescent mushrooms. cave cryptids that follow explorers with the sound of their claws scraping stone floors. cave cryptids that glow and cave cryptids with bright eyes and cave plants woven into their flesh.
liminal cryptids that stay long after the closings of arcades, offices, restaurants, and theme parks. liminal cryptids bound to their spaces so long they've taken up the qualities of their habitats. liminal cryptids behind the scraping noises in the vents and the messes made after-hours
plains cryptids that are so obviously visible but everytime you get closer they get farther. plains cryptids that watch from afar. plains cryptids that are gone when you blink, leaving you wondering if you even saw them until you feel something touch your neck.
