You're still not sleeping when you hear the key turn in the keyhole. But you don't move either, you're way too tired and much too comfy in bed, wrapped up in a cozy blanket, fuzzy socks on your cold feet, Rex's crew neck warm and heavy on your shoulders.
He moves around the house quietly, almost unnoticeable; and no wonder, considering what he does for a living. But you make up the way he drops his suit to the floor, boots forgotten by the door, grabbing a glass of water on the way to the shower.
The door closes with a quiet click and short after there's the sound of the water running, drops drumming against the tub and tiled walls. Rex sighs, loud enough for you to hear even through the walls. Whenever he comes back this late, he's efficient, cutting his shower short. And it saddens you every time, knowing how much he loves to just stand under the stream, washing off the dirt and the weight of the day off his sore muscles.
When he walks into the bedroom, you turn with a weak smile on your face, happy to finally see your man back in one piece. You trust him, you know he's amazing at what he does—but there's been so many close calls, and it would be a lie to say you don't worry every time he goes into the battlefield.
"Did I wake you?" Rex asks quietly, voice low and soft around the edges.
"No," you mumble back, "just couldn't sleep."
He lets out a small exhale through his nose as he slides under the duvet. "You worry too much."
"It's not that—"
"Oh really?" Rex deadpans, curling against your back, his arm wrapping tight around your waist.
"Okay, not only that."
"Bad day, huh?"
"Yeah," you sigh, interlacing your fingers with his, "but not as bad as yours, I guess."
"Hey," he nudges your ear with his nose, "no comparing, yeah? Just because you don't fight freaky aliens for a living, doesn't mean you can't complain."
"Alright."
For a while, it's just the sound of your synced, calm breaths, and his heart beating steadily against your back, grounding you in the moment.
"Wanna… talk about it?" Rex coaxes, rubbing your knuckles with the hardened pad of his thumb.
"No, not really. You?"
"Nah. I just want to be here, with you."
"Say less," you mutter, nestling closer against his broad chest, letting the warmth of his skin seep through the fabric of his crew neck. You feel his smile on your neck, then a soft kiss close to your hairline, leaving you with goosebumps down your spine. Your eyelids grow heavier, and at last, sleep sweeps you away in its warm embrace.

Light seeping through the blinds catches the cloud of smoke coming from Rex's mouth as he exhales. He passes the blunt to Mark who is busy fixing his overgrown mohawk.
The room is heavy with the IDLES playing surprisingly quiet for these two. Rex waves the blunt again, dramatically clearing his throat, but the black-haired man ignores him, now set on replacing his eyebrow piercing to black studs.
"Dude, we don't have a bass player," the redhead says, passing another cloud, then proceeds to cough like he's choking. "And the fuck is this stuff?"
"'S from my dad," Mark replies lazily, then looks at his band mate with utmost pity. "And, we have Dex on bass, you idiot."
"Not anymore," Rex rasps, putting the blunt out in the ashtray, leaving the rest of it for later. "He got arrested."
"What?!" Mark turns with eyes wide open, halfway fixing his piercing. "When?"
Rex shrugs, putting both of his arms under his head, bloodshot eyes glued to the ceiling. "Like, a week ago."
"And you're telling me now?"
"You were busy with whatever the shit you do with your dad. When exactly was I supposed to tell you?"
Mark groans and hides his face in his palms, shaking his head slowly with disbelief. "What'd he do this time?"
"They caught him dealing on the college campus."
"Oh for fuck's sake," Mark gets up, raising his arms and dropping them with pure disbelief. "We have a gig, in like… two weeks!"
"Don't sweat your balls off. I already got it figured."
"You?" Mark laughs cruelly, pointing at the redhead. "Figured shit out? Then we're doomed."
Rex rolls his eyes and sighs, then props himself up on his elbows, looking at the ink-haired guy with complete nonchalance.
"Listen, asshole," he points a finger back at Mark, squinting his eyes with a lazy smirk, "I posted on Instagram and on some Facebook groups that we're having an audition. Tomorrow."
Mark's shoulders drop even lower, and for a moment, he just stares at his band mate.
"Rex, you—"
"Yeah, I know." Rex grins and flops back on the pillow, "I'm a fucking genius. You can thank me later."
🎸 🎶 🥁 🎤
Mark gets up midway through the riff, raising his hands, signaling the guy to stop playing. The bassist straightens up, like he already knows what is coming his way.
"Alright, thanks a lot. We'll be in touch, yeah?" Mark flashes him a shallow, fake smile.
"Whatever, dude." The bass player shrugs and doesn't even look at them when he leaves.
"Bye?" Rex scoffs when the door closes. "Dickhead."
The room drowns in heavy silence as Mark plops down on the sofa next to Rex who's now busy with scrolling through his phone, seemingly no care in the world.
"This was, what… 7th guy in a row who could barely hit any accords properly?" Mark whines, slowly slouching down the couch. "I'm so tired, and so fucking hungry… How many people we have left?"
"Just one," Rex mumbles, not looking up from the screen. "A chick."
"Great. Just great."
"She's hot, dude."
"She can be Zoë Kravitz for all I care. I need a good fucking bassist."
Just when Rex opens his mouth to respond, a few quick, rhythmic knocks makes the two guys turn their heads to the door. When they don't answer, the knocking becomes persistent, and even more rhythmic.
"Come in!" Rex shouts and the door opens soon after.
When you step in, the sharp smell of weed hits your nose, and then your eyes set on two men sitting and staring at you like you're their last hope.
The redhead, Rex, does a quick once over with a playful glimmer in his dark green eyes. You mirror his action, focusing mostly on all of his piercings—the lip ring, the industrial and the plugs in both ears. On the right side of his neck, peeking from above the hemline of his Melvins t-shirt, you see what must be some sort of a tribal tattoo.
Whereas the guy with the mohawk, Mark, lifts up a corner of his mouth like he knows something you don't. He also has a collection of body mods, starting with the black studs in his eyebrow, one ear pierced top to bottom and you could swear you saw a glimpse of metal in his mouth, most likely a tongue piercing.
"Took you guys long enough," you mutter with a smirk as you close the door with your foot and come up to them to introduce yourself.
Mark and Rex get up with the speed of light, bumping shoulders, both of them extending their hands toward you at the same moment. You glance between their palms and their faces, internally laughing at this instant fight for dominance, and end up criss-crossing your arms to greet them both at the same time.
That earns you a grin from both of them, genuine ones. It's all going as you expected.
"Fancy thing you got there," Mark points to your Gibson struck at your back. You grab the neck and twist it around your torso to the front in one swift motion.
"Yeah, she's my baby. I've been saving for her for years." You mutter, sliding you hand slow along the curve of the guitar's body.
When you look up, he's watching you, somewhat expectantly. You hesitate for a second, but decide to take the strap off and hand the guitar to Mark. Who, to your satisfaction, takes it with the utmost care. He strokes a few chords, at which he whistles low and nods his head in approval.
It shouldn't have, but it does make your belly tie into a knot low, lower than you'd like.
"Okay, you stringers, I kinda feel left out." Rex chimes in, grabbing the guitar harshly from Mark, which makes you internally flinch.
"Not my problem, stick swinger." Mark growls, grabbing the instrument's neck over Rex's hand. This time you actually flinch, barely swallowing down a whimper. These fucking assholes are going to rip your guitar before you even get a chance to play for them.
But they both must have noticed the micro expression on your face, because they hand you the instrument back.
"Show us what you got."
"Then you both better sit down," you grin at them, ignoring the spark that ran from your fingertips to the top of your head when your hand touched theirs briefly.
"Oh, let me guess," Rex scoffs, plopping down on the sofa with a cocky smirk. "Anesthesia by Metallica? The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin?"
You roll your eyes, scoffing back at him with an equally sharp smile.
"Actually, asshole—"
"I like her already," Mark mock-whispers, nudging Rex with his elbow.
"—assholes," you fake-cough, and Rex stifles a laugh while Mark crosses his arms like an upset child. "I have your song ready. The best one you've got, in my opinion."
The way both of their faces falter, then come back up with an even wider grin, makes you snort quietly, but triumphantly. You have these pricks in the palm of your hand.
"Which one?" They both ask at the same time, and you swallow down a cackle.
"Fecal Baptism, of course."
"Okay, damn." Rex spreads his arms along the line of the sofa's backrest, his voice nothing short of impressed.
"You better not butcher that one, it's my baby." Mark squints his eyes, smile half playful, half terrifying. You nod quickly and tune your strings, your hands suddenly trembling.
The last thing you want is to get on the nerve of this freak, you've seen his reaction at the shows when people booed them for even uttering the title of the track. Whatever happened to punk rock?
"Whenever you're ready, sweetheart." Mark waves a hand at you, almost dismissive and the nerves leave your body in an instant. Instead, it's replaced by the anger and need to deliver. You plug in your bass, take a wider stance, deep breath in and let the music flow through your fingertips.
🎸 🎶 🥁 🎤
"Thank you, you fucking bastards!" Mark rasps into the microphone, his voice tired and low after two hours of singing and yelling in a sweaty, smelly basement bar. "You were bat shit crazy!"
The audience is still chanting and jumping, some people are still in a mosh pit, and as usual, two or three folks are already in a fist fight. You feel drunk and dizzy in the best way possible, adrenaline pumping through your veins—not only have you given a god damn great gig, you've also became a bass player for the fucking Sex Splodes.
Mark beckons for you and Rex to come to the front of the stage, but you're frozen, still in disbelief, mouth hurting from smiling and screaming. Rex circles his drum set and grabs you by the waist, bringing you between him and Mark who also curls his arm around your torso, and all three of you bow, sweat trickling down your foreheads and necks.
🎸 🎶 🥁 🎤
How you ended up in a cheap hotel room a couple of hours later is a blur. Maybe it's the high from the concert, or maybe it's the lines of coke mixed with countless joints washed down with shots of the worst tequila you've ever had. Probably all of the above.
Now, completely zonked out, you lay flat on the king size bed in absolute bliss while Mark and Rex bicker about something, you're not sure what, because you're not really listening. The bedding's a bit scratchy, but you've had worse before. And it's surprisingly roomy—it's the best deal you three could get that would fit you all for the night.
"Hello?" Rex shouts over the music blasting from the speakers, and startles you back to the grimy room, your attention shifting from the broken ceiling fan to the redhead. "Earth to the metronome?"
You giggle, which then turns into a full blown laughing fit. "What did you call me?"
Mark turns the volume down a little, just enough so y'all could hear each other without screaming.
"Well you didn't react to your own name, for like," Rex pauses, mock-pondering, "ten minutes."
"What do you want?" You say weakly, wiping a tear away, still catching your breath.
You hear Rex open his mouth, but Mark cuts in, the slightest tremor in his voice making you quiet down completely. "Dude, forget it. She's so high she doesn't even know she's here."
"What?" Is the only thing you can say, suddenly very much interested in their conversation.
"Exactly my point," Mark replies more so to Rex, than to you.
"Forget what?" You press on, pulling yourself up on your elbows. When you glance at the guys, you notice that now they are shirtless, which you don't blame them—it's so hot and clammy, you also would love to shed any and every layer covering your body.
And it doesn't hurt they look fucking incredible just in their jeans.
"Ah, it's nothing," Rex waves a hand, his shoulder slumping down. Whether you want it or not, you watch the way his back muscles shift deliciously underneath his tan, olive skin.
"It's also fucking stupid," Mark adds, jabbing a finger at Rex.
You sit up properly this time, resting your back on the wall, glancing between your band mates with a knowing smirk. "Well, now I gotta know. What you two morons were talking about this whole time?"
"You really didn't hear?" Rex sighs, somewhat hopeful, but more so disappointed.
It's not like you have zero clue what they were scheming, the last two weeks you've spent with them left little to the imagination. But hearing them actually say it out loud would be priceless.
"Duh? I wouldn't ask otherwise."
"Let me tell you then," Mark wiggles his brows suggestively, "Rex here—"
Rex's hand flies up in the speed of light, clasping against Mark's mouth. "Shut your trap, you dick."
But it doesn't do much.
"Oh no, why would I?" Mark hisses with a sinister grin on his face, "it's your terrible idea, wasn't it?"
Rex narrows his eyes so hard they almost shut, his jaw squaring. One of his hands curl tight into a fist, like he's considering something before he lets it go, and only presses a finger forcefully into Mark's sternum.
"Like you don't fucking like it," the redhead spits, words coming out slowly and carefully, filled with venom and betrayal.
"Of course I fucking do," the man with the mohawk groans, swatting Rex's hand away. "But you remember how it ended last time, when we had a chick in the band. Right?"
"Oh, come on." Rex raises his arms up in disbelief, voice going an octave higher. "That was totally different! Shit hit the fan because her and Dex broke up!"
"Yeah, well." Mark lets out a short exhale through his nose, eyes glued to the floor with a mischievous smirk. Then, in a blink, his brown, warm eyes are up, glimmer of something between victory and twisted satisfaction in them. "He dumped her because you fucked her in the shower while he was sleeping—"
"While he was passed out in his own puke, you mean." Rex cuts in, crossing his arms over his bare chest, muscles popping and sharpening with every micro movement.
"You just couldn't keep your cock in your pants, could you?"
If the whole back and forth didn't get on Rex's nerves, now it does. Rex gets up with the speed of light, furrowed brows over angry eyes.
"Oh, here comes mister purity himself." The tan drummer shouts, and you can't decide whether it's funny or scary. Maybe a little bit of both. "At least I'm not fucking teenage girls by the dumpster after a gig."
Now Mark is up on his legs too, immediately after Rex's words left his mouth.
"She lied to me!" Mark raises his voice, face inches away from his band mate. "She said she was 21!"
"Dude, she barely looked 16, at best." Rex scoffs, a triumphant smirk on his handsome, asshole face.
The tension in the room is close to a snap, electricity buzzing from both men in a completely different manner than it did just a few minutes ago. You glance between their faces, foreheads almost touching, and despite yourself, your traitorous mind shows you an image of both of their lips crashing.
"Rex, I swear to fucking God—"
"Oh my God. Get over yourselves, you two." You whine with a heart in your throat, and the two man snap their heads toward you. There are much better ways to rid of these big feelings than fighting it out.
Though it would have been quite a show.
"You're complete assholes with a negative moral spine, and giant walking red flags at that. Tell me something new."
Rex open his mouth, then closes it, then does it again. Mark only blinks at you a couple of times. You wait, stretching the silence until it becomes unbearable and you're sure you have their undivided attention. They're completely still, eyes set on you, like they're awaiting a judge's verdict. That's when you know you've got them by the balls.
"Now spill, fuckers." Your smile is so sharp it could cut glass. A few beats pass in complete silence, and you can see the gears in their heads working overtime.
So to speed up the process a little, you spread your legs wider, your tiny, loosely fitting shorts revealing no panties underneath.
Rex breaks first.
"You can't just do this and then act all innocent!"
"And why's that?" You ask, while your hand plays with the hem of your tight crop top. The way their gaze is burning through each layer of your clothing, makes your nipples perk up.
Mark's lips curl up in a smile so wicked it's almost addictive. He drags his eyes slowly, very slowly, over the curves and lines of your body it leaves you tingling.
He definitely is coming with a scenario in his mind, and you want to play it out raw, no rehearsal.
Now, the shape of your buds is clearly visible through the thin material.
That's when it clicks for Rex, too.
What comes next, happens so fast you could miss it if you blinked.
Instantly, you're on your feet. Two strong, calloused, hands wrap tight around your waist, crushing your chest against both men.
You're not sure who you're actually kissing. What you do know, is how Mark's and Rex's lips feel against yours. Rough, claiming, impatient.
"You fucking tease," Rex groans, the sound vibrating over your pulse, his lip ring cold against your hot skin.
Mark is quiet, if not for the hums and pants coming from him, as he busies himself with leaving a wet trail down your chest, pierced tongue warm over your top. He finds your bud with ease, and bites it down through the material.
You want to say something, anything, but the only thing that leaves your mouth is a broken, whiny sound. And you swear you feel both of these idiots grinning.
Before you know it, Rex drops down to his knees, his lips never leaving your skin. His open mouth kisses start a heated path that goes straight between your legs.
Your pussy throbs once when the drummer's hand lands on your inner thigh, so close, yet so fucking far from where you ache the most.
The view below takes your breath away, and if the two men weren't holding you down like they're not going to ever let go, you'd fall.
Mark notices the effect Rex has on you and his competitive side kicks in. He slides his hand underneath your top and starts rolling your other bud between his fingers, not neglecting the one beneath his tongue.
The combination of Mark's piercing over your nipple, as well as Rex grabbing your shorts' waist between his teeth, leaves you whimpering. The sounds coming from your mouth are nothing short of obscene.
But then—they both stop.
Mark moves away from you and Rex slowly gets up from his knees. Both musicians are panting, their chests and necks flushed, thin gleam of sweat on their faces.
"You guys," you laugh weakly, suddenly feeling shy. Your breath is shallow, body trembling under their stares. "Why'd you stop?"
"You said it yourself," Mark replies immediately, so full of himself he looks even hotter than before, if that was even possible. "We're nothing but a bunch of red flag assholes."
"Now you know how we've been feeling these last two weeks," Rex adds, equally satisfied with their plan.
"So that's what you two were talking about?" You ask, your pride hurt and telling you to leave immediately. But the heavy, thick air of arousal keeps you glued to the floor, unable to move a muscle.
"Maybe," Rex grins, then nudges Mark with his elbow. "Is my idea still terrible and stupid?"
"Nah," Mark shifts his weight, and your gaze drops down to his jeans, his cock straining against the thick fabric. "For once, I gotta give it to you."
"Told ya," Rex snorts, then immediately fidgets, visibly uncomfortable with the pressing matter down his crotch.
"OK, so… What now?" You cross your arms over your chest, still torn between fury and the passion coursing through your veins.
"Now," Mark mirrors your pose, "you give us a show."
Your smirk sharpens. He probably thought you'd be shocked, or outraged. But it's the sort of answer you were hoping for, anyway.
"But I get something in return."
"And what would that be?" Rex brings his brow up, lazily, like he's got all the time in the world.
You could tell them to do absolutely anything, and you're certain they would do whatever you demand. Even if they're putting up a front of blazed, unbothered douches, their tented jeans say otherwise.
"I want a show, too."
The way their faces drop a smidgen, how their postures become a bit more rigid, makes you giggle internally. You snap a mental photo of them and tuck it away for later.
"So what, do we have a deal?"
The room falls quiet again, charged to the absolute max, tension so taut it might snap any second now. You shift your weight, waiting for these morons to grow a pair (or two, hopefully) and give you the green light.
"Uhm—" Mark stutters after a long while, and it's the first time you're seeing him like this. Hopefully, it's not the last.
"Yes, fuck. Yes, whatever you say." Rex cuts in, breathless. For once, being a hothead has finally paid off for him.
Your lip corner curl up, and you uncross your arms slowly, resting your palms on the swell of your hips. The change in your demeanor is almost palpable, judging by their alert eyes, and their jaws going slack.
"Sit. Both of you." You command, and they listen like the obedient dogs they are.
Taking your sweet time, your hands glide upwards on both sides of your waist, stopping shy away from your breasts. You take one, two steps in their direction, enough to show intent, but still leaving them craving more.
Your breasts feel full and heavy in your hands, your nimble fingers massaging over your alert buds in slow, circular motion. One of them gasps, you don't know which one, because your eyes are already closed, head lulled back, exposing your warm neck to your audience.
You move up, sliding off one strap of your top over your shoulder. Your fingers trace the line of your collarbone to the other strap, which falls on your arm, too. The shirt is now barely holding on your frame, only your breasts stopping it from falling down to the floor.
Without thinking about it, your hips start swaying in the rhythm of the music. Some sultry, low-bass track is playing in the background, leaving you feeling like the main character in their stories.
Taking the hem of your crop top between your fingers, you begin to lift it, inch by inch. While doing so, you lift your heavy eyelids, just a little, enough to peek at your band mates. As you expected, both Mark and Rex are wound tight, both clutching their boners through their jeans, but not moving.
Not yet, at least.
Their free hands are curled tight into fists, wrinkling the duvet cover, holding on for their dear lives.
Just when your breasts almost spill out from underneath your top, you cover them in a swift move. The redhead exhales hard through his nose, while Mark whines, but doesn't dare to say a word of discontent, scared to break the moment.
Despite yourself, you smile. A small, genuine upturn of your lips. You'd be lying if you said you didn't think about this exact moment from the day you joined the band.
All the rehearsals, heavy drinking nights, conversations flowing easily until the early morning hours led you right here, to this cheap hotel. In which the staff had no issue with three horny people sleeping together in a room with one bed.
The song has changed to something jumpier now, and you take that as a hint to move on. You twist on your heel, right on the beat, and your hands land on your butt cheeks with a smack. Mark, or Rex, sucks in a breath through his teeth.
You can't help but tease them a little more. You hook your thumbs behind your waistband and begin to pull it down, revealing the roundness of your ass.
"No touching," you mutter, looking at them over your shoulder, your shorts halfway down.
Rex, quite literally caught red handed, hides his arm behind his back and gulps down. Mark is still holding on to the edge of the bed, seconds away from combusting.
You don't know the track coming from the speakers, but you do know music theory. Your shorts hit the floor exactly when the accent drops in the song.
"Holy shit," Rex curses, voice low and strained.
Still turned with your back to the two men, you pull your shirt over your head on point with the end of the song. Then, just as if you queued it, one of your favorite hits start spilling from the speaker. You intended on ending the striptease already, but you just can't resist the rhythm flowing through your veins. Your hips sway with the bass line, your hands playing with the fat of your ass.
At the best part of the track, you drop to the floor, sitting on your heels. You trace your legs upward, starting from your ankle, through your calves, knees, up to your thighs. The gentle brush of your fingertips leave your skin prickling in its wake. When the song ends, you turn your head one last time, checking on the sorry state of your boys.
Mark is clenching his jaw so hard he might grind his teeth down, whereas Rex is biting down on his fist. You have them exactly where you want them.
"Did you like the show?" You ask, voice low and sultry, enunciating each word carefully.
Both of the musicians groan and nod furiously, and it's only now that you notice the flies of the jeans are open, hands past the waistbands.
"I'll take that as a yes," you giggle and turn, careful not to show your frontal nudity just yet, laying down on the carpet. The fabrics scratches your breasts and tummy, and you rest your chin on your hands. "Your turn."
Mark and Rex look at you, then at each other, then back at you. Mark finally speaks up, first time since telling you to strip for them.
"What do we do?" He rasps out, slowly, reluctantly taking his hand out of his boxers. Rex doesn't budge, still pumping himself slowly up and down, awaiting your requirements.
"Touch each other," you state simply, as if you were asking them to pass you the headphones.
"What?!" Rex jumps away from Mark who is staring at the swell of your ass splayed right in front of him.
"I held my end of the deal," you add, bit more stern now, but still playful.
The redhead hides his face in his hands and just sighs, loud and long. Mark still hasn't moved, clearly weighing down his options. You wait, patiently, because you know they'll cave, eventually.
"Rex, we're both bi." Mark chuckles, turning to Rex, but not reaching out to him just yet. There's a faint smirk on his face. "Or was it a lie to lure chicks in?"
"No, it wasn't." Rex mumbles from behind his palms, voice muffled. "I like dudes as much as you do."
"Am I that repulsive to you then?" Mark gasps in mock offense, and you let out a quick, quiet giggle.
"No, man." Rex risks a peep from between his fingers at his friend. "It's not that either."
"What is it then?" You press on, watching as the drummer unfolds right in front of you, ignoring the growing pressure in your lower regions.
"Do I really gotta spell it out for y'all?" The redhead groans, then shifts to face Mark, coming a little bit closer to him.
You hum in response, your eyes set on Mark's hand coming closer to Rex's thigh with every passing second.
"Spit it out," Mark tilts his head, his grin utterly venomous. "Unless you're a coward."
Rex rolls his eyes, then drops them down, suddenly finding the carpet absolutely fascinating.
"You're low-key really fucking hot. And it freaks the hell out of me."
The air in the room shifts. You can feel it getting heavier, and so does Mark. He looks at you, then at his band mate with genuine surprise on his face. But there's no disgust there, no. Only curiosity.
"Well, I was not expecting that." Mark states after a few beats, visibly flushed. The black haired man moves even closer now, his palm landing confidently over his friend's thigh. "But 'm glad. 'Cause I think you're pretty damn good-looking yourself, too."
"Yeah?" Rex glances at the point of contact, at Mark's large hand traveling up, stopping dangerously close to the strained fabric. When the redhead looks up, the singer is much closer than before. For a split second, their eyes meet, exchanging a charged, warm look.
"Yeah," Mark says, softer now, almost tender.
Your walls flutter involuntarily as they close their eyes, resting their foreheads against each other.
Then finally the drummer gains some confidence and touches Mark's abs, hesitantly at first. The moment Mark lays his hand on Rex's chest, the latter moves forward and closes the distance.
The man with the mohawk gasps at first, but then gives in immediately, threading his fingers through Rex's coppery strands, undoing whatever was left of his bun.
"Damn," you mutter, voice barely above whisper, and shift to sit up. You pull your legs closer to your body, not caring about covering yourself anymore. It's not like they are going to look at you now, anyway.
Then, the redhead grabs Mark's face with both hands, deepening the kiss, and then one of them moans.
You gasp at that, your hand playing with the curve of your breast, bravely ignoring the throbbing, aching spot between your legs. You gotta focus real hard to record this moment to keep forever in the vault of your mind.
When the black-haired man trails his hand lower, past the waistband of his friend's boxers, your resolution snaps and your fingers fly right to your clit, massaging it in tight, but languid circles.
Rex lets out a strangled noise and doesn't wait for an invitation, shoving his hand down Mark's pants not long after. They pump each other's lengths with visible restraint, both knowing it's not the time to bust just yet.
The two of them slowly get up, and just as if they communicating telepathically, they both start undressing each other, their jeans and boxers being shoved down in one go.
Now, Mark and Rex are standing butt naked in front of you, almost eating one another alive, as if to make up for the lost time. Their chests are flush, cocks rubbing against one another as both of them rock their hips, chasing that high.
"You guys," you laugh breathlessly, "I'm still here."
At the sound of your voice, both their heads snap in your direction, a string of spit connecting their mouths.
The view of them utterly undone, flushed, with chests heaving, lungs craving air after their make-out session, sends a shock wave right to your core.
"Or should I leave?" You tease, now that you have their attention back, their eyes dropping to your middle and ring fingers going in a controlled motion over your clit.
"No—fuck. Sorry, we—I mean—"
"Get the fuck up," Mark cuts in between Rex's rambles, making a beckoning motion toward you, "and c'mere."
You don't need to be told twice.
The moment their arms curl around you, inviting you to their caresses, you get dizzy.
Maybe you got up too damn fast. Or maybe it's the drugs and liquor. Or it's Rex's calloused hand on your ass and Mark's hot mouth on your jawline. Probably all three.
One of them—you don't know which, you already got lost where their bodies start and end—throws you on the bed. You land on your back with a yelp, but happy to be finally manhandled the way you craved.
Rex crawls on the bed, like a predator coming up to his prey, heavy eyelids drooped over the lustful, green eyes. He takes your foot into his hands, and starts kissing it, slowly making his way up.
The drummer isn't breaking the eye contact, and the sheer intensity of his gaze leaves you out of breath. In your peripheral vision, you notice Mark's stroking himself lazily with a slack jaw, his other hand cupping his balls.
When Rex reaches the upper part of your inner thighs, you feel the mattress dip at your feet. The mohawked man is on his knees on the bed behind his friend, smoothing his hands down Rex's back.
"Can I…?" Mark trails off, his fingers gently spreading Rex's ass.
"Go for it," Rex rumbles between leaving pecks on your skin, just where your hip and thigh meet.
It's already all too much.
You can't choose who to look at, eyes rapidly jumping from the redhead between your legs to the black-haired man behind him. When Rex teases your lips once again, promising the sweet relief of his tongue, you snap.
"God damn it, can you please—"
"Already begging?" Rex chuckles, his warm breath ghosting over your slick folds. "Mama, you're not gonna survive this."
"Ravish that pussy, unless you need a few tips." Mark adds from behind, busy nipping at Rex's thighs.
"Fuck off and get to work," Rex quips, eyes with pupils blown wide still glued to yours.
Before you could say anything yourself, the redhead finally dives in. He flattens his tongue, gliding it up from your entrance to your clit. His mouth curls over your bud, and when he starts sucking, he groans into you from his own pleasure.
With a quick glance, you notice Mark started going down on Rex, and whatever he's doing there, makes the drummer hum and whine in agreement. Despite that, he never loses the rhythm, changing between his tongue and puckered lips on your clit.
Only a few minutes in, you can already feel the climax building, faster than you ever experienced before. The mixture of Rex's nimble tongue and Mark's groans make the heat pool down in your tummy, scaring to boil over any moment now.
The moans and whimpers coming from your mouth are shameless, so loud you probably are keeping the whole hotel wing awake, but you don't care. Instead, you thread your fingers through the red strands, and curl them into a tight fist, bringing the man as close to you as humanely possible.
When you're seconds away from your orgasm, Mark is suddenly lying down next to you. He takes your chin between his fingers and nips at your lower lip, then your jawline, neck, down to your breast.
Just a couple of swipes of his pierced tongue over your nipple send you over the edge. Your voice comes out high, broken, powerful.
"Yes, good girl. Let it all out," Mark murmurs, his voice vibrating against your ribs.
You're screaming, repeating your band mates names like a prayer, completely lost in the pleasure washing over you in forceful waves as Rex laps down on you like a man parched, coaxing pleas and whimpers from you.
Your knees are pulling to a close—or rather, trying to—but Rex is holding on them strong, forcing them to stay open. The once blinding pleasure is quickly turning into something bordering pain. The good kind of pain.
And then it stops, suddenly, leaving your folds cold with the lack of Rex's mouth. When you open your eyes, you see his chin and lips glistening with your slick and his spit, all wrapping up that cocky smirk of his.
"Rex, I—"
"Never had better head? Yeah, I know," the man between your legs grins, then kisses the inside of your thigh. Mark is still beside you, tracing mindless shapes with his rough pad along your ribs.
"We're not done with you yet," the inky haired man adds, stopping his hand just under your breast. Before you get a chance to say anything, Rex grabs your waist and flips you over to your tummy, raising your hips up.
Mark settles with both of his legs around you, his painfully hard erection right on front of your face. He swipes his thumb along your lips and you part them, sucking on the finger with low pressure.
Behind you, Rex is nudging at your entrance with his cock, waiting for you to give him your consent. You want to turn your head to him, but Mark holds you down, shaking his head.
"Tsk, tsk. Let him wait. My turn now."
"Dude, seriously?" Rex whines from behind you, but doesn't go any further than gliding the tip along your oversensitive folds. Something between a chuckle and a gasp gets past your lips.
Mark tilts his head, raising his pierced eyebrow with a deadly grin. "No one was taking care of me while I was eating your ass, lover boy."
The redhead mumbles something under his nose, but you can't make it out. He waits, surprisingly obediently, with his length only moving slowly up and down your folds.
And with that, Mark takes his thumb out your mouth, and then replaces it with something much, much larger.
You eagerly take him in, circling your tongue around his shaft, head bobbing up and down. It doesn't take long for you to gag, especially with his size. Your band mate gathers your hair into one hand, guiding your movements just the way he likes it.
"Rex, get inside me," you command quickly when you gasp for air, spit trickling down your chin. "Now."
"Yes ma'am," Rex beams and slides into you in one fluid motion, burying himself up to the hilt.
He starts rolling his hips slow at first, and you match the rhythm of your head to his cock moving inside your walls. Mark only lets out a strained sound and pulls you down harder, his tip hitting the back of your throat with every movement of your head.
It doesn't take long for Rex to pick up pace, slamming his thighs on yours with brute force and speed. You moan right on Mark's cock when Rex hits that perfect spot inside you, again and again. You're dangerously close to another orgasm.
The redhead must feel it with the way you're clenching around him, and to your disliking, he slows down. You'd have groaned if you didn't have your mouth full.
The smell of sex, sweat and liquor fills the room, along with the lewd sounds of skip slapping against skin and your gags. When you gasp for air, Rex slows down to a full stop. Mark looks up from your eyes to his friend, and they share a knowing look.
You've seen this look already, not only today. These two can talk without words like no other people you have ever met.
Without a warning, Rex pulls out and you want to whine, but Mark puts a finger on your lips, shushing you.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. We're just gonna switch. That alright?"
His pupils are blown wide, and gone are the beautiful brown irises of his. The way his gaze is devouring you alive, it leaves you speechless for once in your life. You only nod, and the two men change places, and before you know it, Mark's giant cock is trying to get inside you.
"Now you can repay the favor," Rex smirks and gathers your hair with one hand, and tapping his dick on your lips with the other.
"God damn, so tight, s' fuckin' tight." Mark mutters as he unhurriedly slides in, inch by inch, giving you time to adjust to him. When he's fully buried in your walls, he stills.
It's your cue to take Rex between your lips. You take the hilt of his length into your hand and flatten out your tongue, sliding it up from balls to the tip. You spit on it and smear the lubricant up and down before wrapping your pretty lips around him.
The second your head starts moving up and down Rex's length, Mark starts pumping into you, skipping the adjustment part altogether. You have never felt so fucking full in you life, front and back holes filled with cocks.
Mark hips are snapping against yours, adding a smack here and there on your ass. The sting is deliciously painful, and you moan on Rex's length, the vibrations making him growl. His jaw is shut tight, brows furrowed over the heavy lidded eyes.
"I'm getting close," Rex admits with a strained voice, barely holding composure.
"Me too," Mark echoes, slowing his tempo a little, but still delivering forceful thrusts.
You take Rex's cock out your mouth with a plop and start stroking him, just enough to keep him on the edge, but not letting him fall over it.
"I got an idea." You speak up, mischievous smirk painting your features.
"I like the sound of that," Rex chuckles, swiping his thumb over your cheekbone.
You sign to Mark to move away, then swiftly jump off the bed, padding hurriedly towards your bag. As you search for the one item that will help with the perfect culmination of this insane night, the boys get busy on the bed taking care of each other.
"Where the fuck is it," you mutter, emptying the contents of your travel bag. You're almost ready to give up when your hand finds the velvet pouch.
Bingo.
When you turn with the rabbit wand in hand, Mark and Rex are lying on their sides, kissing with passion that you wouldn't expect from any of them, stroking each other languidly. You let yourself mentally videotape the scene for a lonely moment in your tiny bedroom.
"Got it," you chirp, coming up to the foot of the bed. "Now move, you two."
Reluctantly, they separate, and you lay down in the space between them. You hold up the sex toy triumphantly in the air, glancing between Rex and Mark, curious for their reactions.
"What's your plan?" Mark asks, his hands immediately on you. Rex follows suit, warm, rough fingertips rolling your nipple.
"Get in front of me and jack off while I experience the best orgasm in my life."
"I am offended," Rex mock gasps, but follows the order anyway.
Soon after, Mark is on his side, both of the men on their knees, pumping their lengths as you glide the toy inside your pussy and turn it on to the highest setting immediately. The toy starts moving, hitting your G-point every single time without a miss.
"I'm not gonna last long," you whimper when the vibrating part touches your clit.
With your other hand free, you start playing with your breasts. Both Rex and Mark are focused now, chasing their own pleasure. The heat of their gazes only adds to your arousal, and you're mere seconds away from falling over the edge.
You take your hand away from your nipple and curl your fingers around your throat, blocking your own airways, intensifying the growing pressure ready to snap.
"Come on, ma. You're doing s'fucking good," Rex rasps, his eyes jumping between yours and your glistening, throbbing pussy greedily swallowing the wand.
"Be a sweet girl and cum for us," Mark adds, voice similarly strained.
And you do.
You muster up all your willpower no to close your eyes when your second orgasm crashes like a freight train. You let go of the rabbit wand and your pussy pushes it out, revealing a projectile squirt landing on both Mark's and Rex's thighs.
"God damn, girl, you—" Rex groans and then he's spilling his hot cum all over your tummy.
"Fuck, fuckfuckfuck, I'm—Oh, God—" Mark follows suit, thick, white ropes painting your tits.
You're still riding out your high, putting the rabbit wand inside you for a few seconds, letting the pressure rebuild, only to take it out, squirting more on your band mates.
When it's more than you could take, you turn off the toy and flop your head down heavily, chest heaving. Rex and Mark fall down on both of your sides, their breath equally uneven, stupid, easy grins on their faces. You look between the two in silence, before all three of you break down in a full blown laughter, arms shaking, bellies aching.
"God, that was—" You start, but you're at a loss for words.
"Fuck yeah, it was," Rex heaves, throwing his arm heavily behind his head.
"Look at us, we're such a fucking mess," Mark groans happily, sliding hands down his face.
And then it's quiet again, if not for the forgotten music coming from the dying speaker.
"You assholes better do aftercare," you sigh, covering your eyes with the soft inside of your elbow.
Rex props himself up on one arm, resting his cheek in his hand, the other hand tracing your waist. Mark sits up and puts his large hand on your thigh, reassuring but also claiming.
"We can bathe you, if you want." Rex proposes, and when you peek at him from above your arm, you swear he's blushing like a virgin.
"But only if you tell which was a better fuck." Mark squeezes your thigh once, not daring to smooth his hand down.
"I'm never fucking telling you that," you snort.
"So there is a clear winner!" Rex gasps, but he doesn't stop drawing shapes on your side, almost tickling you with that.
You uncover your eyes, and take a really good look at your friends—lovers, actually. Mark's mohawk is completely disheveled, his piercings crooked, shades of red and pink painted over his handsome face and broad chest. Rex looks like he was blessed by the archangel itself, his features at ease, freckles standing out more with the sheen of sweat all over his toned, olive-skinned body.
"I think I need a larger sample to pass such dividing judgment," you quip, tracing your finger on the outline of Rex's tribal tattoo.
The boys groan, but they don't say anything. They are more than happy to give you more examples to conduct your very important research thoroughly. But not tonight.
Tonight, you teach these morons what it truly means to care for a woman.

"You ran out of clean shit to wear, or what?"
Your head snaps back, catching Rex's reflection next to yours in the mirror where you were admiring yourself just seconds ago. He's leaning on the doorframe, hands in his pockets, and that cocky grin on his handsome face.
"Uh—no, I—" you spin on your heel, palms up in front of your chest pleading surrender, "—this isn't what it looks like."
"Oh yeah?" He pushes back from the doorframe, taking one step toward you. "And what does it look like, exactly?"
"I just—" you take a deep breath in, or at least try to, given how tight your chest is twisting under the weight of his gaze. "I didn't know you were home."
His brows lazily go up, giving you a once-over with those big, green eyes that make you knees go weak. He's clearly enjoying the whole catching you red-handed (or rather red-suited) situation a lot.
Maybe even a little too much.
"You done this before?" Rex points with his chin at you, swallowed whole by his suit.
You drop your eyes to the ground, staring at his combat pants pooling at your ankles.
"…No."
"Liar," Rex scoffs, taking a few more steps in your direction, making you back out before you hit the wall with a soft thud. He cages you in, his hands on both sides of your head, leaning in so close you can see the mischievous glint blowing his pupils wide.
"And what you got underneath there, huh?"
You laugh nervously, biting your bottom lip. "Well, um—not much."
"Nothin', I hope." His lips brush the shell of your ear, his voice low and smooth.
The sheer closeness of his chest pressing onto yours, his warm breath tickling your neck, how his breathing becomes heavier leaves you a melted puddle, and you can't control the whine that escapes through your lips.
"I think you wanted to get caught," Rex chuckles, his hand finding your waist with ease. "And I'm really fucking glad I got home early."
tags&content warnings: slight face and body dysmorphia; insecurities; descriptions of face and body (neutral enough so y'all can immerse)
The early morning light reflects in your vanity mirror, highlighting every high point of your face. A face you've seen countless times, a face you know so well; a face that despite always looking the same, it somehow surprises you with how much you can't stand it on some days.
And today is that day.
Your fingers run along your skin, tracing everything you feel is out of place— a fine line here, a breakout there, multiple creases from the pillow that disappear slower as you age; all your imperfections weirdly coexisting with your favorite parts of the most animate part of your body. It's what pops up first in people's heads when they think of you—your face is essentially you.
And yes, of course there's so much more to you than just your face, or even your body. There's your special interests, about which you can talk for hours on end; your laugh, that never fails to brighten any space you're in; your whole personality, that has helped you forge friendships with like-minded people.
Still, today you look yourself in the eyes, and barely recognize the reflection. You know it's you, yet, it feels odd. Uncanny, even.
A groan gets past you as you bury your head down, resting your forehead on your forearms, half-laying on the vanity desk. You stay there frozen for longer than necessary, loathing the moment when you'll have to walk out and, for lack of a better word, face the day.
It's only when you feel a warm, large hand on your shoulder you move. You peek from between your arms to the left, and there he is, all in his morning glory—Goofy mug of freshly brewed black coffee in hand, easy, gentle smile on his perfect, tan face. You almost hate him for how effortlessly amazing he looks when he wakes up. But you could never feel this way towards him, no. Not when there's a coffee cup for you as well, placed next to you in your favorite mug.
"You good?" Rex asks, head tilted and voice still husky from short, interrupted sleep—middle of the night patrol will do that to a man. And you're not complaining about it. You gotta grab onto whatever's good this morning.
"Yeah," you sigh and straighten up, then take a sip of your coffee. "No," you add quickly, realizing he's not buying your lie.
"Can I do anything about it?"
"Not really," you mutter, your finger tracing the brim of the hot mug.
"You wanna vent?"
"No, it's just… It'll pass."
"I don't like the sound of that," he sits down on the edge of bed, brows furrowed over his sleepy, green eyes. "Come on, spill. But not the coffee, 'twas too expensive."
"I don't feel like myself." It comes out barely a whisper.
Worry flashes his tanned, handsome face. "What do you mean?"
"I look in the mirror, and yeah, it's me, but… I don't like what I'm seeing."
"Why?"
"Everyday I have to do something about my face, my body… I can't just get up, get dressed, and leave. Not like you."
"Babe, I'm the last person you should be comparing yourself to."
"But you're the person I see the most."
"And? Before I've met you, I didn't even know what a moisturizer was."
That earns him a chuckle. "Yeah, and you were offended when I told you you should wash your face with something else than a 5-in-1 shampoo."
"I still think it's a capitalist, consumerist trick to make you buy more shit."
"Yet you still looked better then than me whenever."
"Okay, cut it. I don't wanna hear it, okay? You're beautiful."
"I know you think that, but it's hard for me to believe."
"Babe, sweetheart," Rex gets up and puts away the coffee on the bedside table before kneeling in front of you, "the love of my miserable, fucked up life—" you open your mouth to protest, but his fingers curl tight around your thighs, grounding you, "—listen to me. You are the most divine being that has ever graced this shit hole called Earth."
Your lips press together in a thin line as the words wash over you in soft, warm waves. If he goes on like this, you won't be able to stop what would follow the trembling of your chin.
"And even if you feel like you need to do something about the way you look everyday," the redhead continues, his worried, emerald eyes dragging over your face and body, "then so be it. It's called self-care, and you're the absolute queen of it. You taught me that yourself."
"I did," you laugh wetly with the faintest smile.
"That's what I wanna see," Rex mirrors the expression, swiping his thumb under your eye. "That gorgeous smile. The spark in your eyes whenever I get back home in one piece. That small line you have when you laugh."
"Well, the lines are getting deeper and bigger with time," you mutter, suddenly finding the carpet below him very interesting.
"That's good!" Rex is up now, his calloused palms hugging your cheeks. "It means you got to see another day."
A sniffle barely stops the downpour ready to drop from you. You curl your fingers around his wrists, his skin warm to the touch, and close your eyes, letting him rest his forehead against yours.
"With me," he adds, quieter now, his breath ghosting your lips.
You hum, melting slowly from the tenderness of his large hands against your face, from the undying love pouring out his soul, soothing the ache in your chest, even if just a little. Rex plants a kiss on your temple, then turns both of you so you're facing the mirror again.
"Look at us," he murmurs, his lips brushing your ear. "What do you see?"
First, you focus on his reflection—the dark circles under his eyes, the always-present exhaustion glowing through his skin; and the sharp, hooked nose that makes him who he is. He's perfect in your eyes, and not because he's handsome—he is, of course—but because his imperfections along with his best features combine into this cohesive image. That's what makes Rex, Rex. And he's beautiful.
Then it dawns on you—this is how he perceives you. Gorgeous, radiant, stunning. If he ever tried to talk you out of seeing him as the most breathtaking thing on Earth, you'd fight him with your bare hands.
You smile wider now, your eyes joining, creasing in their corners as your lips lift up.
There's the way your hair frames your face, softening your features. There's this tiny scar from your childhood you don't remember getting. And then, there's the shape of your nose, standing out proudly, telling the world this is me. All of this making you unique, one of a kind—you.
"I see two striking people, madly in love."
"That's my girl," Rex smirks, but the expression is far from smug, or cocky. "Now, how 'bout I help you fall in love with your body again, hm?"
"And how would you that?" You tilt your head, smirking back at him, already knowing where this is going.
"By worshiping every single inch of you." His voice gets lower, thicker, and it's not with sleep anymore. Oh no, he's quite awake now. "In the shower."

It was quiet.
The flight to the military base was spent in complete silence, if not for the constant hum of the propellers. Rae and Kate weren't talking, which wasn't a surprise, since they weren't fond of each other. Just like you. No wonder you and Rae are best friends.
Rex was quiet, too. Normally, he'd fill the empty space with his corny jokes and pearly laughter, but not today. On the outside, Rex was still, his head resting on the only small window. But inside, his mind was loud like a crowd before their favorite artist enters the scene. His brain screaming his own words at him.
That's my girl.
The sentence echoed around his skull, stomach tightening with every second passing. Why the fuck would he say that? Right after you dumped him, at that? What's even worse, is that he backed out, like a goddamn coward. And Rex Splode was not a coward.
Or maybe he was.
Maybe, he just wasn't ready—and probably never will be—to admit to it before himself. Before anyone, really. Especially not before you.
Not that it matters anymore. You already said goodbye to his sorry ass, for the second time. Because he fucked up, again. What's new, right?
"Rex!"
The redhead flinched when Rae shook him by the shoulder.
"We're here." She looked at him expectantly, but he didn't move a muscle.
Kate groaned, grabbing him by his sleeve to bring him upright. "Come on, get a move on. I do not want Cecil all on my ass if we're too late to stop them."
If there was one thing that always helped Rex to forget his sorrows, it was combat. He felt like a fish in the sea fighting these weird-ass lizard people. Dodging punches, spinning back kicks on the head and throwing his charged batons always made him feel better.
"Hey Kate!" He shouted, ducking from Iguana's claws. She almost got him, but he caught both of her wrist inches from his face. "Remember, whoever dies first—pays for pizza!"
Kate's body flew across the room, just over his head before smashing into the console and breaking in half. After years of hero work, such a view didn't make him flinch, especially when it was her. Rex was so used to her being killed over, and over again, it was hard to feel for her at all.
Especially after she dumped him for the prehistoric douchebag.
So when he heard his name, Kate's pleas, it took him a few seconds to glance in her direction.
There was only one of her, held by the neck with a tight grip by the Komodo Dragon. His breath stuck in his throat, all blood going away from his head.
And for the first time since he'd met her, he saw it in her face—Kate was afraid to die.
"Hold on!" Rex shouted and landed a clean punch on Iguana, his boot scraping the floor to gain friction, running off to help his friend.
But he was too late.
Oh, he was royally fucked.
All of Kate's bodies laid dead on the floor, her innards spilling out with a low squelch.
This isn't real.
Rae was just swallowed whole by the giant, monstrous lizard, and failed to free her way out by growing bigger.
It's just a bad dream. A nightmare.
Rex jumped over a console, because as much as he wanted to save all of the major American cities, he didn't want to die in some comically gruesome way that you'd only see in a comic book.
This can't be fucking happening!
But it is. And the worst part is, there's no way out of this.
The command room was finally at peace, with the only thing cutting through the cold silence being Rex's maniacal laughter.
He was on his knees, panting, holding his bit off forearm tight to his chest, trying to slow the bleeding. Because after what he just went through, what he survived, bleeding to death would be so fucking lame.
Then he heard a gun cock to his head.
Whoever was holding the weapon—or rather, whatever, because calling these creatures human would be a hard lapse in judgement—started blathering and boasting, making Rex even more furious. The gun was digging hard into his skull, the cold of the metal biting even through his cowl.
Rex was panting, fuming with rage and not enough energy to do anything about the situation he found himself in. He was livid, but not because he was afraid to die, no. He was at peace with that. And he had been, for a while now, even if he never really vocalized it.
Rex was boiling inside because the last thing he would ever hear, would be some random, idiotic asshole's voice talking about fucking bravery.
When it should have been your voice instead.
"Just do it, you prick," he ground out through clenched teeth.
When the King Lizard pulled the trigger, Rex didn't feel any pain—he only heard the shot rip through the quiet space.
Darkness.
His mom's smile. His dad's frown.
Radcliff. Surgery. Death.
So much death. And destruction.
Eve's laughter. Her pink room.
Teen Team's base. His messy room.
Cecil's groans. Robot's reprimands.
Kate's eyes. Mark's chuckle.
Your radiant face. Your gentle hands. Your plush skin.
You.
Light.
Someone's talking.
No, actually—someone's rattling, on and on. So much, in fact, it brings Rex back to the base, his senses dulled from the pounding in his head, just above his right eye. It's so intense he feels like his skull is going to combust.
Still, he gets up to his knees, slowly and carefully, the world around him spinning wild like he downed a whole bottle of rum and rode on a rollercoaster ten times in a row.
The blood puddle grows steadily below him, and someone's still blabbing. Rex can't locate the direction of the sound, so he stands up. It was a little too abrupt, as the ringing in his ears worsens, and he presses a hand in hopes of quieting it down. But to no avail.
Rex does his best to focus his sight on the person, just enough to see it's one of them Lizard freaks. The guy's holding a gun in one hand and a phone in the other.
"Shut… up…" the redhead mumbles, his vision going from blurry to dark again and again. But the guy keeps talking.
"Shut. Up." Rex tries again, firmer this time, regaining some of his vigor with the growing, bubbling anger inside of him. Still, the motherfucker won't listen.
"I said—shut up!"
Years of rigorous training and a hefty addition of adrenaline do the job, and Rex is on the move in a blink of an eye. He lunges forward, his only fist meeting the guy's jaw with such force the joint bristles.
The green man points his gun at Rex, but the redhead is faster, and disarms him with one swift punch. The hero grabs him by the shoulders and delivers another, bone rattling punch with his knee right in the center of the villain's face. Normally, that should suffice—but nothing about this is normal.
Rex seems to be unscathed by the lack of his left hand, and lands a clean hook with it, bringing the Lizard to his knees. But Rex is furious, and he cannot, will not, stop. With a kick he makes the guy almost unconscious, and he falls like a rag doll to the ground.
This should definitely be more than enough, yet still, Rex continues, grabbing a fistful of the Lizard's hair and bringing him up.
"I—can't—believe—you—shot me—in the fucking head!" He screams, accentuating each word with a violent punch of what used to be his hand left in the face of the Lizard King.
When the villain goes limp in Rex's hold, the hero throws him across the room, and proceeds to stomp on his back, grunting heavily, adrenaline rush rapidly wearing off.
"Sir… Are you alright?" A sudden, worried voice comes behind him.
"Why would you…" Rex starts, before turning to face the GDA soldiers. "That's a weird question. I'm fiiiine. Totally good. Huh…" He looks down at his dismembered arm, blood shooting out of it, bones sticking out like a sore thumb. "Never better…?"
He chuckles in that iconic way of his, the laughter that always seems to sweep whatever discomfort he feels under the rug.
"You know me," Rex points at himself with his severed hand, a maniacal grin stretched across his bloody face. "I'm practically—"
He doesn't get to finish, only freezes like a paused frame on film, before gurgling and collapsing to the ground like a leveled building, the world around him going dark once again.
Waves are crashing gently over the shore, washing over the rocks. Seagulls are flying low in the sky, disappearing over the horizon, migrating towards a warmer, more welcoming place.
The water is cold to the touch, but it doesn't bother Rex at all. Quite the contrary—it cools down his sore, tired muscles, easing the tensions away. Sand grinds quietly under him, as he rests his hands behind him, feeling the fine-grain between his fingers, digging under his blunt nails.
Sun is shyly casting a light over the beach from behind thick clouds, painting the sky white like the spume on the back of each wave that glides over his bare feet. And his mind is quiet, for once.
Rex lets out a long exhale through his nose, whatever tensions left in his body going away. Warm wind brushes his face, few strands of hair falling out of his bun on his forehead. That's when he hears a familiar voice, and it's like the clouds have melted away, making space for the sun rays to reach his skin.
He snaps his head in the direction of the sound, easy grin stretching across his face. But it falters when you're nowhere to be seen, and he swears he heard you calling his name. The sky suddenly goes navy, and it's dark like it's a middle of the night.
"Ban?" Rex mutters, disoriented, slowly standing up from the sand. A lightning strikes across the once calm horizon, waves growing higher and more turbulent than before. He now shouts your name, turning in place, looking over his shoulders to locate you, but you're still not here. Something trickles down his forehead, maybe it's starting to rain, or it's the cold sweat that overtake him.
Rex moves his hands to each side of his mouth, hoping the sound of his voice would travel further, when he freezes. A drop, then another, jumps against his scalp, until it's a downpour. The rain is so heavy, he can't see his left hand when he straightens it in front of himself.
His eyes wander down, slowly, only to see a puddle of something dark glistening at his feet.
Blood.
His blood.
Sleep slides off Rex slowly, taking its sweet time bringing him back to reality. It's the first time in years he have slept so god damn well. But those crazy ass dreams were a total overkill. He has to cut on the booze for sure.
Bright overhead lights shine through his closed eyes, and he groans. He lifts his arm to cover the source of the murderous beam, but it doesn't seem to do the job. Rex risks a peep through half-lidded eyes, and sees the stump of what used to be his left hand.
He stares at the blank space where his fingers would have been. They're gone. But when he tries to wiggle his digits, it's like they're still here. He can feel their presence and their loss at the same damn time.
Then, a beeping that was a quiet hum in the background grows louder, stronger now. Rex takes his eyes of whatever's left of his arm with effort, and looks in the direction of the sound until he sees a machine. When he realizes he's hooked to it, his eyes widen.
It's a heart monitor. Which means he's in the GDA hospital in the Pentagon.
And he's alone. No nurse or doctor present, no friend or teammate in sight. You're not here, as well. Figures.
He chuckles dryly at how stupidly poetic it is.
Sudden entrance of what must be a nurse takes him out of his sorrow. It's a kind-looking woman with the longest ponytail Rex has ever seen. She stops in her tracks when she notices Rex is awake, then goes back a few steps into the corridor and calls for more staff to come.
Great. He's going to be a lab rat all over again.
Thankfully, nothing of the sort happens. Eveline, his nurse of the day, brings him additional pillows so he can sit up straight, along with some water. A doctor so old she looks like a raisin conducts some basic tests on him, asking what he remembers and where he is, how many fingers can he see and all that jazz.
Then, she explains to him the extent of his injuries and what surgeries they had done. The part no one really seems to fully grasp is how Rex actually survived a shot to the head. Sure, she goes over the technicalities of brain mass structure as well as the angle of the shot, but Rex stops listening after she says something about a parental lobe.
Everyone expects him to have questions about his recovery process, or anything health related, but Rex only wants to know one thing.
If you'd been here at least once since he got here.
He'd understood if you hadn't.
Eveline's lips press into a thin line, her gaze dropping down. Rex thinks he's ready for the bad news, but still his heart cracks a little when she doesn't answer right away.
"You don't remember anything?" She finally speaks, her voice gentle like morning breeze, almost soothing.
Rex shakes his head; what's there to remember?
She puts her hand on his, her skin is soft and plush, unscathed. Her gentle fingers heal, bring relief, help people get back into one piece—unlike his, designed to sow destruction.
"Her and two other friends visited you recently, when you woke up after the surgery."
"Did I say anything embarrassing?"
"No, but…"
"Tell me."
"The visit was cut short, you weren't ready to receive guests."
"Why?"
Eveline sighs, and then quietly proceeds to explain the extent of his meltdown. How he acted like a lunatic, how he made you cry. The reminiscence hangs heavy in the air, making it hard to breathe, Rex's chest suddenly caving with the realization that even barely conscious, he's still able to hurt people; to hurt you.
One night, one of many, Rex wakes up screaming, and he wishes it was because of a nightmare. Instead, it's from unbearable pain, right were his hand used to be, like it's on fire. It's nothing like he has ever felt before, and he has dealt with a lot in his short, miserable life. How can something that isn't here cause him such agony?
Nurses run in short after, breathing hard, eyes open wide. When they see him, they realize there's not much they can do. Levi offers him a tranqui-something, but Rex shakes his head, barking out that he has to deal with it with a clear head, not clouded by drugs.
Annabelle gently suggests otherwise, and says they can just give him something that will let him sleep. But again, Rex cries out it's what he deserves, after all the pain and misery he caused to others, it's only right he suffers too.
"Rex, I'm sorry, but this is for your own good," Levi says quietly and pins him down to the bed with all his weight while Annabelle preps the medication. Rex tries to fight him but he's too weak; and so he gives up, with tears streaming down his face, sobbing apologies to everyone and anyone he has ever hurt.
He just can't seem to keep away from you, can he?
It's not like he was planning to kiss you, or wanted to—okay, well. He really wanted to do it. But even Rex knows better than that, so despite the shame of being caught red-handed, he's glad Eveline broke the moment off when she did.
But the nurse doesn't share his sentiment, as from the moment you left, she is unusually quiet, helping him on the wheelchair and pushing him to the bathroom with the giant tub. Rex has a shower in his room, but due to the severity of his head wound and a missing arm, it's safer to lay down and soak like tea leaves.
"I'm sorry, Rex." Eveline finally speaks when they exit the elevator on the designated floor.
He turns his head just enough to peek at her worried, red face. "What for?"
"For… interrupting. It looked like you two had something important going on when I walked in."
"Nah, don't fret," he waves a hand dismissively, "it was stupid anyway." But he fails to convince her or himself.
"Didn't look like it."
"Well, I was about to do something I shouldn't have—"
The wheelchair stops so abruptly Rex almost flies off it. Eveline crouches down beside him and looks at him, bewildered. "Wait. Y'all are not together? Like, in a relationship?"
That question was gonna come sooner or later, yet still it pains him to admit the truth.
"Nope." Rex grits, voice low and clipped.
"Seriously?" Eveline's brows shoot up so high they can practically fly away, "I could've sworn—"
"Well, I fucked it up. And good that I did. I'd have ruined her life even more."
"Whatever you did," she squeezes his arm, ever so gently, "she still was coming to your room every single day when you were in a coma, and just sat there with you for hours."
Rex widens his eyes, mouth open and closing, for once he's at a loss for words. He should be happy. Well, he is, kinda. But still, this somehow hurts more than if you just didn't give fuck. Would be fair and square, totally even. And yet, despite everything, you are the bigger person.
"She even told the big boss to shove it," Eveline adds with a wicked grin, and that earn her the slightest smirk of his. Of course you did.
"For real? You're not fucking with me?" Rex asks, just because he has to.
"Why would I be lying?"
"Uhh… Because you work for the government?" Rex deadpans, lazily pulling an eyebrow up.
"Touché," Eveline smiles and gets up, resuming the walk to the bathroom.
"You women and your fancy words," Rex mutters under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest.
"It means that you've made a witty remark." There's no sarcasm in her tone, no bite. Still, it stings, as he is once more reminded of the lack of any formal education.
"Well, I don't feel any smarter now."
"Rex—"
"It's fine, alright?" He cuts her off, adding a stern hand gesture. It's, of course, a big fat lie. Eveline sighs behind him, but says nothing. The rest of the way is spent in silence.
So is the bathing, sloshing water and gentle swipes of the sponge over his bruised skin filling the quiet bathroom.
But it can't be said about his mind; it's as loud as it gets. One could think, being bathed every day by a beautiful woman would have been the dream, especially for a man like Rex. And he wanted nothing more but to just enjoy being pampered.
Yet, the deep-rooted feeling of being undeserving of such privileges only grew with every day the staff cared for him like he was made of glass. The smiles. The kind words. The patience. But they're just doing their job.
And even if that's not the case, they can't possibly know the extent of terrible things he has done in his life. The countless, pointless murders in what he once believed was exercising justice. Not to mention all the women he had hurt in his short life, as well as all prospects of friendship ruined but one.
But here he was, his only friend he ever truly had still deep in a coma, buried under countless tubes and wires, kept in a sterile box like a research object.
So here he is, surrounded by people, yet feeling the loneliest he has ever felt.
Well, actually—scratch that. New friend unlocked. Never in a million years Rex would've guessed who that new Pokemon would be. And Mark Grayson would be the last person to bet on.
Good thing he doesn't gamble.
"Hey," Mark knocks and pops his head through the gap in the door, "is it a good time, or should I—"
"What are you doing here, Grayson?" Rex asks, that old suspiciousness of his very audible in his voice. And he's more than justified to feel this way, it's not like their last encounter was frolicking in the grass while holding hands.
But Mark ignores the remark, and gets inside uninvited. He is either tone deaf, bold or stupid. Probably all three. "Visiting my—"
"Don't you dare say friend," the wounded hero cuts in again, pointing his finger at Mark, eyes squinting so much it's pulling on his head stitches.
"Why not?" Mark shrugs with a gentle smile as he sits on the atrocious plastic chair you used to occupy while he was out in a coma.
"Uhh, I don't know…" Rex fake-ponders, tapping his chin a few times before turning to the Golden Boy. "Because we're not?"
"Yeah," Mark gulps and his smile dies down, his eyes locked on the wall like it's the most fascinating thing he's ever seen. "You're right. We're not."
In a matter of seconds, the mighty Invincible turns into a lost, sad boy. It almost makes Rex feel something, but the hurt of their last conversation still lingers, the words that spilled from Mark's mouth still stinging like a fresh sunburn.
"Listen, I came here to apologize." Mark shifts and looks up, meeting Rex's line of sight. Then he does the thing, the one you and Eve mentioned before—the famous puppy eyes. And they seem to do the trick, as Rex feels his harsh interior softening.
"I acted like a complete asshole," the ink-haired boy continues, face neutral, but the hoarseness in his voice betrays him.
"I sense a 'but' coming…" Rex mutters, crossing arms on his chest.
"Well…" Mark chuckles quickly, rubbing the back of his neck while a pale blush paints his cheeks. Of fucking course.
"Oh, come on. Spit it out."
"You know you should've been with her. But—I judged you too harshly."
Rex knew it was coming. Hell, he was sure of it the moment he heard Mark's voice today. Nonetheless, the reminder is painful, bringing him right back to that feral night.
"No shit, Mark," the green-eyed boy grits, but there's no real bite in it. He flinches when he feels Mark's hand on his arm. Surprised, even bewildered, Rex shoots a brow up, looking at Mark like he just announced he's going to become a k-pop idol.
"And for that, I'm sorry."
The words hang heavy between them, more so for Rex than for the other hero. Usually it's Rex who has to do apologies, and even then they're half-assed and insincere. But Mark's words are genuine, straight from his heart.
"Whatever, apology accepted," Rex pushes Mark's hand away, trying to hide how flustered he is by this conversation. "It still doesn't make us friends, though."
It's only when Rex hears a rustle of fabric, followed by the sound of a zipper, does he realize Mark came with a backpack. Full to the brim.
"I brought snacks," Mark offers with a lopsided grin, taking out a bag of hot Cheetos.
And that's how the two heroes became friends.
It's been a couple of weeks since you've left the hospital for good to go back to the Guardian's HQ. With the team down three people, and you getting your powers back, it wasn't up to discussion. And he knows it, he really does, but still, it's so fucking boring, just laying in bed, doing fuck all, waiting for your rare visits like a man parched.
He tried watching television, one of those reality shows Rae used to love—turns out it was a bunch of nonsense and fake drama, and he had enough of it in his life.
Internet obviously sucks, so what's left is the giant stash of interior design magazines you and Eve keep bringing, half of them untouched due to his prior busy schedule. If there's ever a time to go through them and daydream about his future beach home, it's now.
But every couple of pages Rex realizes he's not really reading or looking at the furniture, his mind wandering to its darkest corners, another thing he never had time for. And those are not welcome thoughts, yet here they come. He closes the magazine with a groan and lies back, covering his eyes with the inner part of his arm.
Ever since his parents got rid of him like a broken cupboard, he had to constantly face death. Soon enough, it became his second nature, accepting the fatal day might come anytime he leaves for a mission. And it became a soothing realization, a justification for every poor choice and the lies—why bother regretting anything or thinking twice about something he absolutely shouldn't do, if he might be wiped off the face of Earth at any moment?
So when the Lizard freak held him at gunpoint, it was like a salvation. Yes, he was royally pissed he'd go in such a lame way, but it was a relieve nonetheless, being finally free from this stupid, pointless existence.
Even though it meant never seeing you again. Which, in that moment, he felt would be best for you.
So one can imagine how lost and disappointed Rex was when he woke up. The annoyance lingered, sitting deep in his gut. But the feeling faded every time he saw your radiant face, the nurses and doctors showing him kindness despite his bratty attitude, when he felt his strength coming back.
He didn't understand it at first—resented it, even. Not giving a single flying fuck was his whole brand. Now, stripped of his agility, looks and a whole ass hand, that person felt like someone else. And in a sense, it was.
Deep down, whether he liked it or not, it was an act. A mask to shield himself from the world, giving a hefty distance between himself and anything meaningful that might end sour. Because surviving a bullet to the head was still easier than surviving yet another fucking heartbreak.
Life has given him a second chance. And Rex has to decide if he's willing to give living a chance, too.
Rex sighs as he flips the interior design magazine's last page, closing it with a gentle rustle of the sleek paper. That's it, he's done it. He has read through every single issue.
For the third time this week.
Yeah, Eve comes whenever she can, and it's more than he could ask for or deserves after all the cheating and lying and trauma-dumping that he's done on her for all these years.
Despite all that, she still visits, bringing him news and his beloved magazines.
Eve insists that everything is fine, but Rex knows her well enough to see that's not really the case. She's put being Atom Eve away for the most part since she moved back in with her folks.
Which, to be fair, no wonder she seems down. Living with a deprecating asshole like her dad is no easy job and would put anyone in absolute misery.
Still, Rex senses there's more to it than that, yet he can't quite put a finger on it.
Well, poor choice of words in his case.
"Hiya, Rex."
Speak of the devil.
"Eve! My favourite redhead, and the queen of atoms herself!"
"I thought you were your favourite redhead," she smiles and sits on the edge of the bed, small paper bag in hand. Rex points at it with a wide grin, "This f'me?"
Eve opens her mouth to reply, but pauses when she sees Rex's face has drastically changed from pure joy to utmost fear. She turns and her face falters as well the second she sees none other but Donald standing in the doorway.
His presence rarely means good news.
"Banter's here again," Donald states sadly, then tells both of them what happened and how you ended up here, again.
Rex perks up. "How's she now?"
"Still unconscious."
Eve presses her lips into a thin line, and watches Rex carefully. But he doesn't want to add any more pain, worry her even more with everything he had put her through and whatever she has going on right now. So he only closes his eyes and sighs deeply.
"Take me to her," the hero requests, already halfway out of bed.
This time, he's going to be by your side when you wake up.
The room's dark if not for a spark coming from his fingers every few seconds. It's a sleepless night habit Rex picked up while still living in what he thought to be a secret government base.
Early morning drills, countless hours spent on training any and every martial art, along with acrobatics. Much less time spent on "school", or something resembling it. Back when he still believed he had the world at his fingertips.
Back when he believed he was truly one of the good ones. But he quickly learned, you can be the good guy, or the guy who saves the world.
He snaps his fingers again, only this time, the spark is barely there.
The bright red button vibrates under his fingertip as Rex presses it again, and again. For how kind the nursing staff was here, it wasn't the fastest. What if he has a life or death situation? Which, it totally is.
"Once is enough, Rex. I was in the sterile wing," Levi smiles, seemingly unbothered by his pager blowing up.
"Well, then you're going again. With me as your travel companion, since it seems to take forever to get there on legs, let alone pushing a heavy bastard like me in a wheelchair."
"You're not that big," the nurse smirks as he helps Rex up off the bed.
"Well, every woman I've ever been with would care to disagree."
Shit. Time and place, Rex. Thankfully, Levi snorts and wheels Rex off into the corridor.
"You've lost a lot of muscle mass since you came here," Levi notes when they get into the elevator. Rex blows a raspberry and shoots Levi an incredulous look. To which, the nurse lowers himself and says, "And I've single-handedly lifted Sampson while he was still recovering."
"Ok, that's actually lowkey impressive."
"I know, right?" Levi beams just as the elevator dings on their designated floor. "Anyway, I can wheel you to Rae's, but you'll have to stay outside, I can't put you in a Hazmat. Too big of a risk for both of you."
"Ugh, fine, whatever. But I want to be left alone, alright? I want some privacy."
"Not the best place for that," Levi chuckles and glances at the security cameras in every corner. Rex groans, an overly dramatic, prolonged sound and sinks into the wheelchair.
Fuck this place, man.
Rex wakes up with a gasp, cold sweats covering his whole body. He had that blood filled dream again, but this time it wasn't his—it was Kate's. With all the time he has, he didn't stop for a second to think about her. He couldn't attend her funeral, which normally he'd have thought was a blessing in disguise. But not this time.
His stomach tightens painfully, the memory of him being more focused on fucking jokes instead of his teammates. Yeah, they had bad blood, and she chose fucking Immortal out of all people to get back at him. Or that's what he used to think, at least.
The oldest superhero in the world is everything Rex isn't—calm, wise, and tall. Not that Rex is short, it's just the Guardian's leader demands respect with his 6'4" stature. But that doesn't really matter, not when Immortal can offer love and stability, something Rex knew he could've never given her.
Rex doesn't think that much about Eve, either. She used to be his whole world; and meeting her helped shape who he is today. Despite her being a great girl, Rex didn't like who he ended up becoming—cheater, liar, and a womanizer.
And now he's also completely useless, unworthy of his hero status. If he can't be Rex Splode, what else is there in life for him?
Especially, without you in it.
Texting one-handed with his non-dominant hand is hard enough. And yet, you don't even read the texts from him. Did he say something wrong?
Rex scrolls through the unanswered messages once more, searching for the thing that must have set you off, deciding he's done for, unworthy of your time. It's almost a night-routine at this point, doing it every single day he doesn't hear from you, the blue light from his phone cutting sharp through the otherwise dark room.

Rex reads the messages again, torturing himself with possible explanation's as to why you're ingoring him. Evey idea he comes up with is worse than the previous, his stomach sinking lower and lower as he ruminates over and over again. And then he starts typing, one last ditch effort.
hey so if u dont likeme anymore or ur just tired of my bullshit is all good but it'd be nice if u just told me that instead of straight ghosting me like an ex who cant let go of what he's lost. i fucking miss u and not in the way u think, but just as a person. ur the smartest, funniest woman ive ever met and without u life is just so dull and pointless and i dont see a reason to go on and u know what kept me alive back at that missile base? you. god damn u dont even know that i lo—
"Fuck!" Rex gasps and deletes the whole message, his heart running a marathon. "Get a grip, loser."
Even if Rex lost both of his eyes, he wouldn't need them to know when Cecil's paying him a visit. The sudden crackle of static, followed by a sharp smell of ozone is more than enough to know the boss literally appeared out of thin air in the middle of a room.
"I see you finally found the time to see your favourite child experiment," Rex says, unimpressed, flipping through the most recent issue of the home decor magazine.
"Spare me the jokes, Rex. I don't—"
"—have much time?" The hero shoots up a brow, still not looking at the director from the open concept kitchen layout. Why are people so much against walls and doors these days? "Oh, but daaad, you promised we'd watch a movie together."
"Well, kid, how about a new hand?"
This gets Rex's attention and he finally graces Cecil with a glance.
"I didn't know you make jokes," Rex drawls, turning a page, but paying no mind anymore to the spread in front of him. "Lame one, but A for effort."
The Director crosses his arms on his chest and smirks, a look Rex knows all too well. "Good thing I don't joke around."
The hero gives in and closes the magazine.
"You serious?"
"Am I ever not serious?"
It's too late to say it's still night, yet too early to say it's already morning. The dead hour. Time, when you're supposed to be deep asleep, snoring your worries away. Which, as you can imagine, is not the case for Rex. His phone vibrating, screen lighting up with notification after notifaction only adds to his sleepless frustration.
Every single nurse and doctor offered him a solution, sleeping pills, sedatives—hell, even benzos. But he refuses to take anything else than a regular melatonin, still somewhat stuck in his penance mode. And, for the first time in his life, he actually wants to face everything—his past and present, the whole demons package.
But he lets his dreams and wishes surface too, thinking that at least one of them may come true. That's, of course, dangerous, and he doesn't let himself do that too often. With that in mind, he turns to the side and grabs his phone, expecting some random app's reminder or a spam text at best.
The moment he sees your name on the screen, his eyes open wide and bolts upright, hitting his head on the headbord in the process.
Sunday, 3:16 AM
(5) new messages
If he opens it now, you'll know he's not sleeping as well. Which is both good and bad. Maybe he should open this in the morning, just to play it safe.
Even though he definitely won't fall asleep now. His thumb hovers over the screen as he weighs his options. It can be anything—from apologies, through acting like nothing happened, to straight up telling him to fuck off and leave you alone.
Fuck restraint. Whatever it is, he must know now.
Rex unlocks his phone while holding his breath, his heart doing backflips in his ribcage.
hey so im really sorry ive been mia, i didnt mean to. i'll make it up to u somehow. like, next time i'll come dressed as an idk a fuckin ethno rave monk or whatever
Quiet snort leaves him and his shoulders shake as he imagines you barefoot in a potato sack-like dress with neon colored hair and ripped fishnets. Or whatever the hell an ethno rave monk would wear.
or just lmk if u have an idea and i cant say no
"Oh, you're gonna regret this," Rex mutters as he takes a screenshot of the message—just in case you get cold feet.
and, um, also—unrelated, but do you think cecil has access to any kamikaze dolphins? or sharks with lasers?
Rex raises a brow.
"The fuck?"
You're definitely lacking sleep.
But—laser sharks would be fucking epic.
Before he gets lost in thought, imagining you two cruising the seven seas with kamikaze dolphins and laser sharks as your bodyguards, he continues reading.
but for real tho
i promise i'll see u soon rex. im not avoiding u or anything (though i hate that place for obv reasons) and we're totally cool. and i know its not much but i want u to know that ive been thinking about u a lot and—
His breath hitches and he slams the phone screen down.
Oh God, don't panic, you idiot. She's just being nice.
He takes a deep breath and scrolls down.
—i hope you missed me as much as i did you. your room, the whole base, its just not the same without you. feels so… cold. and lonely
Oh.
Rex rereads all of the messages a couple more times as the realization slowly washes over him, trickling down with every word he scans on the screen of his phone.
Oh.
He starts typing, but he can't seem to find the right words and deletes every sentence before he can finish it. What should he even say?
He could really use a beer right now. Or two.
Or five.
"Fuck it," he says under his breath and starts typing again, with zero filter this time.
im pretty sure ive missed u more
come over
please
The phonescreen goes black, locking with a quiet click. Rex lays on his side and at last, falls asleep with a gentle smile on his face.

The weather forecast hums on low volume in the background, wholly ignored by you. You don't need a man in a suit to tell you that tonight it's a storm of a century—you've got windows and can see for yourself.
And you're not scared of heavy rain and thunderstorms, no. Yet still, despite being safe in a brick building, a deep-rooted, primal fear bubbles shyly inside you when you watch the droplets cut through night sky like they're missiles sent to destroy the whole city.
But what you're worrying about the most, is Rex. He's still out there, still fighting whatever tragedy stroke across the country, all while being soaked to the core with the biggest downpour you've seen in your life.
So when the apartment door opens, you're on your feet in a blink of an eye, relief washing over you, that previous fear dissolving completely. With a gentle smile and arms spread wide, you strut towards the entrance, ready to fall into the arms of your most beloved, cherished person.
And then you stop mid-step, arms falling down to your sides. With one glance you decipher everything he hasn't said yet, written all over his face for you to read, like you've learned over the years. You take a step back, giving him space. But it's already too late.
Rex closes the door with his elbow, a loud bang echoing through your apartment. "Don't just fucking stand there and stare." He's already at a shouting register, a dangerous edge to his voice that makes you flinch. "Get me some towels and a change of clothes, for fuck's sake. I'm dripping like a leaky faucet all over the god damn floor—"
"Stop, Rex. Don't take it out on me—"
He groans, tearing off his soaking wet cowl and dropping it to the floor. "With the day I had, the last thing I need is you scolding me like a little child—"
"Then fucking behave like an adult?" This time you raise your voice as well, raising your arms in disbelief. "I just wanted to greet you after a long day, is that so weird?"
"Just—ah, forget it," he waves his hand at you dismissively. "I'll get it myself."
Just as he toes off his boots and proceeds to walk past you, you step in his way, stern look on your face, staring deep into his tired, green eyes. And despite being fully drenched, there's also a fire behind his pupils, the kind that should make you back away—but you don't. Not when he started this whole thing.
"You don't get to talk to me like this, Rex." Your voice is low and steady despite another storm starting inside you, putting the outside one to shame.
His chest rises up and down in a slow rhythm as he takes deep inhales through his flared nostrils, eyes narrowed, jaw squared and shut tight. And then all hell breaks loose.
"I get to do whatever the fuck I want!" Rex yells straight into your face, but you stand your ground. He inches closer, his forehead almost touching yours, and you notice the heat radiating of his body regardless of his cold suit.
A massive lighting strikes, illuminating your living room like it's noon. "We've been fighting these fucking monsters for hours in the rain, barely winning in the end! So maybe just use your brain—when I get back, you should take care of me!"
"I was going to!" You yell back as the thunder cracks outside, loud enough to startle. The fabric of his suit squelches when you push a finger into his chest. "But you immediately started with screaming and cursing me off like some fucking trash."
"Because I'm fucking tired, woman!" Rex's fingers curl around both of your arms, squeezing you tighter than necessary. "Don't I get to be fucking annoyed, or do I have to be all lovey-dovey whenever I get back?!"
"That's not the point, Rex! And let go of me—"
He does, pushing you away at the same time and brushing past you towards the bedroom, leaving wet imprints on the floor, his hair and suit dripping along the way. Only then, you choke on a sob and turn on your heel, heading to the kitchen.
The tap hums when you pour yourself a glass of water, then down it in one go. Behind the walls, you hear the shower's on. For this much fuss about being wet, it's ridiculous he'd take a bath right now.
Biting down on your bottom lip, you replay the whole fight in your head again and again as Rex washes the day off himself. Maybe you could've acted differently—but then again, he was an asshole from the first second he stepped inside, acting like an abusive piece of shit. It was so unlike him. Of course, he snaps here and there, like anyone, but this was something else. This crossed a line.
Nonetheless, you make two teas with lemon, ginger and honey and take them to the bedroom. Rex acted unacceptably, but he still deserves not to get sick. On the bed you see his pajamas laid out. Maybe when he's clean, warmed up and in a cozy outfit he'll come to his senses and explain himself, beg for your forgiveness.
Otherwise you'll be gone tomorrow.
Another thunder rolls, and you almost drop your cup because of it. You notice steam coming from the bathroom, door opened, light seeping into the hall. If not for the downpour behind your window, the apartment was quiet, shower stream cut off.
When you look up from your tea, Rex is standing in the doorway, leaning on the doorframe with his arms crossed on his chest. There's a towel around his hips, his auburn hair partially dried, sticking out in different directions, making him look too domestic for what have just happened.
"I've made tea," you offer, pointing with your chin at his bedside table. Rex looks around the space, avoiding you, and doesn't answer, only smooths down his hair back, a telltale he's nervous. Not like you needed one, he made it very clear form the moment the apartment door opened. The silence between you is loaded, heavy with regret and disappointment.
"Thanks," he replies after a while, too long for your liking. But you swallow it down, and look out the window, thankful you're inside and not out there.
And then it hits you.
Rex was there, for hours on end. Not just walking or standing—fighting for the people's safety, including yours. Saving the planet despite the conditions or the weather, something you rarely stop to appreciate.
Still, how he reacted, what he had said… It's no excuse.
Yes, he might be on edge. But you've been through this before and he improved so much since you started dating. So he better gets down to his knees right now, or else—
"I fucked up," Rex mutters, taking you out of your head. Your head snaps to the side. He's sitting on the edge of the bed, towel still wrapped around his mid-section, warming his bruised hands with the teacup. After what feels like eternity, he continues, looking up to gaze into your eyes. "I shouldn't have. I know it's a lame excuse, but today was… fucking awful."
You glance at the window as another lightning cuts through the dark sky, then at him. Words are stuck in your throat, and only now you feel it got thicker, your chest heavier as the adrenaline goes down.
The mattress shifts underneath him as he puts the cup away and reaches with his hand toward you, stopping inches from your leg, unsure whether he's even allowed to be this close to you now.
"I'm sorry. I acted like a complete dick," Rex sighs and moves his hand away. And you wish he didn't. "You absolutely didn't deserve it."
"Yeah," is all you manage, otherwise there would be another downpour, only here in your room, streaming down your cheeks. Your eyes are still on his hand, his knuckles torn and red, in dire need of patching up.
"Can we… " he pauses and clears his throat, "Is it okay if we talk about it tomorrow? I'm totally wiped out."
"Sure," you swallow thick, then take a deep breath in, fighting the tears forming up in the corners of your eyes. "We're both on the edge tonight."
Rex snorts quietly and gives you a small, yet genuine smile, not his usual smirk or fake grin. "I'm far over it, to be honest."
You put away your teacup gently on the bedside table and reach slowly towards Rex, your hand smoothing down the duvet in his direction. He notices and mirrors your movement until your fingers interlace.
"Let's go to sleep, we both need it," you suggest, letting go of his hand and covering yourself with the duvet.
Rex changes into his pajamas in silence, sipping on the cooled down tea. Not long after, he slides under the cover, close enough to show he craves connection, but far enough to honor your space.
Surprisingly, you want closeness too, as much as him, if not more. But you're too stubborn to give in, so you finish your tea and turn off the lamp, laying your head down on the cold pillow.
For a while, rain thrumming against your windows and an occasional thunder is the only thing audible between you. It would be soothing, if not for the sheer strength and fierceness of the weather outside.
"Hey," Rex whispers into the dark. "I know we're still not good, but… could we cuddle?"
There it is.
A smile tugs at your lips at his question; you've won. It's a stupid, silent contest, but you're proud of yourself nevertheless.
"Okay," he adds, voice small and hurt, even. "It's alright if not. I get it, I'm a piece of shit—"
"C'mere, you hotshot," you mumble, reaching behind you to grab him. "Hug me like you mean it."
Before you can even finish your sentence, with a speed of lightning Rex's chest presses on your back; his body solid, warm and steady against yours. His toned, hardened arms wrap around your waist, careful, like you're fragile and he's not worthy of your skin. And maybe tonight he isn't, but you shove that thought away, focusing on the rhythmic beat of his heart.
"I'm really sorry. I love you, sweet bun," Rex mumbles, nudging your ear with the ridge of his nose.
You squeeze his hand three times in return, before whispering, "Love you too, pumpkin."

Heavy smoke from the hookah curls around the room, cloud-like shapes draping over the harsh ceiling lights of the Teen Team base. Laughter echoes between the walls, clinks of glass bottles following. When you walk back in from the bathroom, everyone is already sitting on the floor in a circle.
“What’s this? Nursery rhyme time?” you scoff, sitting down next to Mark. He shrugs and points his head toward the couple in front of you.
Sprawled across from you is Rex with Eve sitting in his lap. His usual lazy smirk is plastered on his face, eyes glassy from the booze and maybe something else.
“We’re gonna play truth or dare,” he replies and downs his beer in one go. He burps and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, then places the bottle on the floor. “Kate, you go first.”
She rolls her eyes but spins the bottle anyway.
It lands on Mark.
He instantly rubs the back of his neck and blushes, looking away. “Uhh… truth?”
Rex groans loudly. “Oh come on, don’t be such a bitch—”
Eve shoves him on the leg. “Rex, shut up.”
“Truth, okay. Let me think,” Kate says, trying to maintain her nonchalant persona, though it proves difficult with how much she’s had to drink already.
“I have one!” Rex shouts.
Kate waves her hand like she doesn’t care. “Okay, whatever, go ahead.”
“So, Mark. How bad do you want to fuck my girl?”
“REX!” Everyone yells at him in unison, you included. Then all heads turn to Mark… waiting for him.
“You don’t have to answer that,” Eve chimes in finally, breaking the heavy silence.
“You guys suck,” Rex mutters, holding his girlfriend closer to him, though his eyes haven’t left you since you joined. His gaze is burning you alive, and the alcohol travelling down your veins doesn’t help to hide your body getting hotter.
“Mark, do you have a crush on anyone right now?” You ask, trying to get back to the game.
He glances at you quickly as his cheeks get even redder. “Yeah. Yeah, I do.”
He clears his throat and spins the bottle.
It lands on you.
“Dare,” you say, emboldened by all the booze in your system.
Rex’s eyes instantly light up and his lips stretch into a smug grin. Mark opens his mouth to say something, but the redhead butts in. “Let’s do seven minutes in heaven. You get private time with whoever the bottle lands on.”
Heat spreads down your body faster and you try to hide the slight tremor in your hands as you reach the bottle. You spin it hard and hold your breath. Everyone is staring as it turns around on the floor, slowing down lazily to a full stop on the couple.
“Jackpot!” he chuckles. “Which one of us would you like to get your heavenly time with?”
You take a deep breath and answer, trying to sound confident. “How about both of you?”
Kate’s jaw goes down to the floor and Mark gasps loudly. Rex and Eve just look at each other knowingly, smiling.
“Oh I like that idea very much. What say you, babe?” He asks, sliding his hand down his girlfriend’s back.
She glances at you, knitting her brows like she’s considering her options. “Oh, what the hell—why not?” Eve laughs finally, standing up.
She extends her hand towards you and you grab it without thinking twice. Her fingers interlace with yours and you pace behind her as she leads you to the storage room. The rest of the group follows after you three. When all three of you are inside the cramped space, Rex closes the door and leans on it with crossed arms.
“I’m starting the timer now,” comes the voice of Mark, muffled by the thick wood. “Seven minutes on the clock.”
“You girls heard the golden boy. Better make the most of it,” he smirks, brushing his hands on yours and Eve’s waists. Your breath catches and you freeze, body stricken with the realization of what’s about to happen. “You should start, the clock's ticking,” he nudges.
The adrenaline kicks in, letting you get back control over your body. “And you’re gonna watch, huh?” you guess, stroking Eve’s arms. You can feel her shiver under your fingers and that alone makes your blood boil. Her green eyes go up from your chest to your mouth and linger there.
“Can I kiss you?” She asks, cupping your jaw; her thumb brushing your cheek, your ear between her index and middle finger. You wrap your arms around her waist, pulling her closer and nod.
When her lips graze upon yours, your stomach flips; heat travels down low with the speed of light. She smiles against your skin and finally kisses you. Her tongue begs entrance and you let her in with a soft gasp. A muffled groan can be heard to your right, followed by a whine.
“Can I join?” Rex begs, voice hoarse.
“What?” Your eyes fly open wide and you break the kiss with the redheaded girl with a plop.
“You heard him,” she purrs, brushing your hair behind your ear. “Should we let him?” she asks, raising a brow. A grin grows on your face as you slowly turn your gaze towards the redheaded boy.
“Please? I’ll do anything and everything—”
“Come here, you loser.” Eve chuckles and yanks him closer by his hoodie, crashing his body against yours. Your pulse spikes when she grabs both yours and Rex’s chins, bringing them closer to her face. You close your eyes and let go, your body taking control over your racing mind.
Soft, gentle pecks from Eve are a stark contrast to Rex’s firm, aggressive kisses. He demands connection with you immediately; his stubble rubbing against your cheek. His arm rests on your hip before it slides down to your ass. He grabs it firmly and you gasp into the threeway kiss.
You feel dizzy, drunk from the beer and the sweet sensation of the lovers’ lips on yours. Your knees almost give out when Eve trails her kisses down your neck, but Rex holds you up, his hand heavy on your butt.
With his girl marking your throat, he takes you in a deep, passionate kiss. His fingers curl around your wrist and he puts your hand on himself; you can feel how hard he already is. You palm him through his jeans and he moans into your mouth; the sound like music to your ears. Mere seconds later, Eve’s hand touches yours, as she busies herself with undoing her boyfriend’s belt. After the soft click of his buckle, she takes his cock out and he hisses into your mouth, gripping your waist tighter as his girl strokes him lazily.
He grabs your shirt and pulls it up before it hits the floor. When his hand is on your breast, you can’t help but whine. The touch is electric, dizzying and oh, so sweet.
Encouraged, your hand finds its way to Eve’s waistband and you graze it, looking her in the eyes, searching for her approval. She nods slowly and her breath catches when you find her already dripping wet, your fingers spreading her folds.
A gentle knock on the door startles you, quickly getting your hand out of Eve’s underwear.
“Time’s up you guys. Get out.”
“Fuck off, Kate.” Rex replies, pinching and twisting your nipple and you swallow down a moan.
Before the handle could go down and reveal your drunk caresses, a surge of pink matter hits the door, creating a lock to keep you safe from the rest.
“Thanks babe,” Rex murmurs, kissing her temple.
“You can pay me back by lying down,” she purrs, letting go of him. He whines at the loss but obeys, buzzing with heat and lust.
“Touch him,” she coaxes, pointing her chin at his twitching cock. You sit down between his legs and take him into your hand, pumping up and down in a tentative, controlled pace.
“Can I suck your man off?” you ask, your voice quiet compared to Rex’s loud gasps. She nods and you eagerly lick a stripe up his length before twirling your tongue around the tip.
“Doesn’t my consent matter here?” he stutters between breathy moans, glancing between you and Eve.
“Shut up.”
“Make me.”
Eve digs her thumbs behind the waistband of her jeans and shoves them down along with her panties before straddling Rex’s head with her thighs.
“That should keep your mouth busy,” she breaths, as she lowers herself and cries out instantly, the sound surging through your veins straight to where you ache the most.
You lock eyes with Eve; her eyelids half-closed, dark lust behind them. You bob your head up and down, swallowing him deep, moaning in sync with the redheads.
“Hey,” Rex utters your name, “Get on top of me.” He urges, voice hoarse and raspy.
You shudder when the air hits your core, your panties thrown in the corner of the room. Eve’s breathless cries make you clench before you hike up your skirt and sink down on his cock with a gasp. A sharp grunt escapes Rex’s mouth, rumbling low and dark in his chest when he stretches you open. “Fuuuuck, you feel s’good—”
“Get back to work,” she cuts in, pressing her pussy onto his mouth.
You don’t move, settling to the feeling of him inside you when Eve curls her fingers at the back of your neck. She brings you closer, nipping at your lip before diving into a passionate, hungry kiss that’s all teeth and urgency. The taste of her makes your hips finally roll in slow, deliberate circles. You brace yourself against Rex’s torso, feeling the hammering of his heart against his ribs.
The room is filled with her whines, his groans, and your moans. The smell of sex, sweat and alcohol curls around your burning, buzzing bodies. Eve’s fingers are interlaced with yours spread on Rex’s heaving chest. You’re lost in her stark green eyes, glancing at her red, plumpy lips. Her cheeks are flushed, the color creeping down her neck. You can’t help but laugh breathlessly, at how both wrong and good this feels.
Rex’s grip on your hips tightens when you start moving faster, chasing the sweet high. He bucks up into you, syncing his movements with yours. You grab Eve’s waist and feel her riding Rex’s face with more urgency now. Dizziness clouds your head as you near your peak when Eve commands, “Touch yourself.”
Your hand flies off her and straight to your needy spot in a flash, and you start rubbing your clit in tight, hasty circles. You break on a moan when Eve pinches your nipple, twisting it between her fingers.
“Come for us,” she whispers, whimpering at your name. You dig your nails into Rex’s chest and he follows with a long groan, muffled by Eve’s folds.
Your orgasm crashes through you, jolts of pleasure ripping broken cries out of you. You clench around Rex’s cock, hard, and his movements falter, becoming more erratic. He spills into you in hot, thick ropes, painting your walls white. While you ride out your high, Eve shudders with her boyfriend’s name on her lips repeated over and over again, grinding on his face.
Silence that follows is interrupted only by your ragged breaths, slowly calming down. You ease off, flopping next to Rex and starting to laugh, while Eve gets off him, legs limp. They join you, giggling and chuckling when the realisation of what you just did hits them as well. It’s only then that the knocking becomes more noticeable, followed by Robot’s monotone voice.
“I can’t open the door. Who’s in there?”
“Me and two angels,” Rex smirks, voice rough but satisfied. “We’re in heaven.”

A huge, muscular goon shoves you inside a dimly lit room, making you trip and fall on the cold concrete. The skin on your arms and thighs burn from scraping on the floor. You try to sit up, though it proves difficult with your hands tied down.
Rex is pushed in next, and you curse quietly—of course you’ll be sharing your last moments in one cell with this asshole, both of you stripped to your underwear.
When the heavy metal door closes, he glances quickly at you then burns the rope constraining his wrists. He massages them and walks away from you, heading towards the thin mattress lying on the floor. You clear your throat and raise your arms.
“You forgot about something?”
“Oh really?” He turns to face you, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Just fucking help me, will you?”
“Only if you admit it was your fault we got caught.”
“Ugh, fine. It was my fault. Now free me, prick.”
He smirks, then kneels next to you as he grabs the rope twisted around your wrists. When it starts burning, the whiff hits your nose immediately and you shake your hands, throwing the remaining constraints to the floor.
“Thanks,” you mutter, massaging your wrists. A groan escapes your mouth as you stand up to stretch your aching bones.
Rex sits down on the mattress, his back facing you. You come up and sit as well, leaning your back against his. His skin is warm and soft against yours which is a nice contrast to the stone, wet cold of the cell.
“I’m too young and too hot to die like this,” he starts lamenting, throwing his hands up. “If I get out of this alive, I’m fucking quitting. I’ll open up a bar somewhere on a beach and serve drinks with tiny umbrellas.”
You don’t answer and close your eyes, already sick of his pathetic voice. Your mind drifts and takes you to the last time your body was this close to someone else—it’s been months since you had sex, maybe even years. You sigh quietly, angry at yourself for even thinking something so jovial. But the truth stings nonetheless—you might die here, unfucked in ages.
Your skin prickles and you shiver, the cold of the cell getting to you faster than you expected. Maybe you’ll just freeze here to death, which sounds better than being shredded to pieces by whatever monsters might wait for you behind the celldoor.
Rex shifts and catches you in a tight hug. You turn your head to him, bewildered. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“Come on doll, you’re freezing. And I run hot. Don’t want you dying here from turning into an icicle.”
You smirk. “Yeah, right. You just couldn’t keep your hands to yourself.”
“Well, you do look better without clothes than I expected,” he says, smirking back at you.
You roll your eyes but don’t push him away. His strong, muscled arms feel nice against your skin when he starts rubbing your back absentmindedly, and you shiver again. Probably just still cold.
After some time spent in silence, you feel your eyelids getting heavier and yawn. Now that the adrenaline has gone down, you feel how tired you are.
“Let’s go to sleep, we need to rest. Save our energy. And when we wake up, we can come up with a plan,” you say and look for something to cover yourself up with for the night. There’s a thin blanket folded messily on the floor in the corner of the cell. When you pick it up, it turns out to be quite small. You glance at Rex who’s already grinning and you groan.
“Guess we’ll have to cuddle,” he says, all smug and cocky, like you weren’t just hours from your possible deaths.
You don’t say anything, just lie down on the dirty, beat-up mattress and cover yourself with the smelly, scratching blanket. He’s behind you in seconds, scooping you up and hugging you tight. Your breath catches when he plants his big palm on your abdomen, snaking his other arm under your neck. In other circumstances you would yell at him, but now you need all the warmth you can get. You let your eyelids drop down—falling asleep proves easier in his embrace, and you definitely don’t like it.
Just when you were to cross the border of the waking world, his palm travels down to your hip, then to your thigh. You want to swat his hand away, but your body doesn’t listen and just lets him melt you. When he reaches your ass, something pokes your thigh.
“Seriously, Rex?” you finally snap.
“It’s not like I can control it, can I? I’m a healthy man touching an almost naked woman.”
“I knew it was a ploy to get into my pants, you sick fuck.”
“Well, you’re not cold anymore, are you?”
Your lips press into a thin line—he’s not wrong.
“Now’s when you say thank you,” he whispers into your ear.
“Fuck you.”
“You’re welcome,” he chuckles.
His palm finds your arm and he starts rubbing it gently, calloused fingertips grazing over your prickly skin. He trails it down to your ribs, playing with the underwire of your bra. His thumb traces the curve of your breast, and your breath quickens, catching up with the racing pulse of your heart. You can’t pretend it’s from the cold anymore; the heat floods your veins with his every touch. He grabs your jaw and tilts it towards him. You can barely see in the dark, but you can tell that smug smirk is there on his face.
“You like that, don’t you?” He asks, voice hoarse.
“No,” you answer through clenched teeth.
“Liar,” he says and grinds on your ass once.
“Do that again and I’ll kill you myself,” you spit.
He grinds again. “Oh really?”
“You motherfucker,” you growl, turning to face him. Wrong move—he catches your waist and pulls you closer, your chests flush. His eyes are half-closed, laced with something you’d rather not name.
“Listen, if we are to die here, I’d rather go down with an empty ballsack.”
You gasp and try to push him away, but to no avail—he only holds you tighter.
“You’re so fucking crude. And arrogant.”
“Isn’t that what you like about me?”
“There’s nothing I like about you.”
“Keep telling that to yourself. But I know you have the hots for me.”
You try to slap him, but he catches your wrist and leans in, his breath warm on your cheek. “Cause I know I have. And it doesn’t help when you’re so pissed at me.”
“Rex—”
“Let’s just have one nice thing before we die, huh?” He murmurs, putting your leg over his waist. “I promise you won’t regret it.”
He doesn’t give you a chance to reply and closes the distance, kissing you with feverish want. His tongue slides over your lips, begging for entrance. Before you can stop yourself, you let him in and grab him by the neck, making it hungrier; the mixture of lust and anger fueling you.
He chuckles and swiftly pulls you on top letting out a low, satisfied sound. You whine into his mouth when he squeezes your ass, the sound of fabric rustling between your bodies. His hands guide your hips rolling against him, chasing the friction. You let go of whatever’s left of your dignity and keep grinding, soft moans slipping through your lips. When his hand travels upwards to unclasp your bra you quickly pull it off and throw it away. Seconds later his palms are on your breasts, kneading them with practised ease. He thumbs your nipples, circling them; hardened fingertips rough on your buds.
The kiss is dizzying, consuming you completely, letting you forget about your tragic situation for a moment. Your teeth clash against his, tongues moving together in one rhythm. Your fingers thread through his silky hair before curling into a fist. He groans deep and breaks away to mouth at your jaw, trailing open-mouthed kisses down to your chest. Shiver runs down your spine when his mouth finds your breast, sucking gently, tongue sliding over your nipple. He nips you hard and you desperately clench around nothing, grinding on him faster.
His jaw is slack, lips swollen when he moves his head away to look at you. He inhales sharp through his teeth, hands smoothing up and down your sides. You’ve gotten used to the darkness and could see that he’s staring at you like you were his last meal. The silence between you is charged, bodies buzzing with lust.
“Sit on my face.” He orders, his voice hoarse.
“What—”
“Did I stutter? Sit on my fucking face,” he growls, tugging on your underwear.
You bite down on your lips before slowly standing up. Your legs tremble with anticipation when you peel your panties off and let them drop to the floor.
“C’mere, girl.” He drags you down by your thighs and you lose your balance, but his strong arms guide you down, your knees caging his head. Not a second passes when he dives in, spreading your folds with his tongue. A guttural groan escapes him the moment he tastes you and hears you gasp.
“God, you taste like a fucking five-star dinner,” he says, voice muffled. Normally you’d tell him off, but nothing about this is normal. Your back arches when he starts sucking on your clit; ragged breaths escaping your mouth. You rest one hand on the wall, sliding the other into his hair, gripping it tightly. He opens his eyes and looks at you with hunger you have never seen before. Just that makes a shiver run down your spine.
“Can I— can I taste you too?” You ask breathlessly between moans.
He raises a brow and moves you down, his swollen lips curved in a merciless smirk.
“Thought you didn’t like me,” he says, all smug and cocky.
“‘Cause I don’t,” you reply and kneel next to him. “Get up before I change my fucking mind.” You rush him, swatting him on the chest. He huffs a laugh and stands up quickly, his tented boxers right in front of your face. You palm him through the thin fabric, feeling every vein as your hand slowly slides up and down along his length.
“Stop fucking teasing,” he rasps, grabbing your wrist.
You twist your hand out and pull his underwear down in one clean motion. His cock springs free, flapping against his stomach, before he inhales sharply through his teeth.
“You were never subtle, huh?”
“Likewise,” you smile, curling your fingers around him. You stick your tongue out and lick his balls, which earns you a shiver from him. He rakes his hair before sliding his fingers into yours, pulling you towards where he aches most.
“Come on, show me what those pretty lips can do,” he says, voice laced with need, nudging your mouth with his tip. You take him in slowly, swirling your tongue around.
“Fuuuck— yes, mama, keep— keep fucking going,” he groans, tightening the grip in your hair. You glare at him, but let him move your head. He goes slowly at first, savoring what might be his last blowjob ever. You plant your palms on his thighs and feel the rising tension in his muscles as he fucks your face faster and harder. You swallow his cock deeper with each thrust, a few tears slowly running down your cheeks. Unable to breathe anymore, you pat his leg. He lets out a dark chuckle and rolls his hips once, twice more until he lets go of your head. You push yourself away with a plop to gasp for air.
“You fucking jerk,” you rasp, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. He steps out of his boxers and drops down to his knees in front of you with a stupid grin.
Before you can say anything, he cups your face with both of his hands and bites your lower lip gently before pulling you into a passionate kiss. The tenderness of his touch surprises you, every nerve in your body lighting up. Your eyes close, your body drowning in his soft embrace. You roam his body freely, feeling every defined muscle, every scar under your fingertips.
He suddenly breaks away and turns you, making you fall down on your palms. His hand lands on your ass, kneading it firmly. You twist your neck to look at him, face filled with irritation. “You know you can use your words, right?”
He waves a hand at you. “Yeah, yeah, but that’s boring. You ready?”
You lift a brow. “Ready for what, exactly?”
“Oh, come on, don’t be stupid. Want me to fuck you or what?”
“Hope you’re as good at that as you are at pissing me off, asshole.”
“There’s only one way to find out,” he replies, nudging at your entrance with his cock.
“Just fuck me already, Rex,” you snap back, arching your back.
Without needing to be told twice, he thrusts in smoothly, making all air leave your lungs at once.
“Put your head on the floor and your hands behind your back,” he commands. The change in his voice makes you oblige without objecting. He crosses your arms on the small of your back and grabs both of your wrists into one hand; curling the fingers of his other palm around the back of your neck. The angle lets him go deep when he starts moving his hips. You let your eyes close and you gape, swallowing down moans. Every time he buries himself inside you, all you can hear are his groans and insults.
“Fuck, you’re taking me—ngh—so well for such a—such a brat,” he pants out, emphasizing each word with a thrust.
“Faster,” you whisper, at which he chuckles but obliges.
The room falls quiet if not for the lewd sounds of your bodies slapping against each other; your ragged breaths syncing. Just when you are about to reach the peak, he pulls out—making you whine at the loss.
“Get on top of me, gorgeous. Wanna see them tits bounce.”
You look at him over your shoulder. “Seriously?”
“What? It’s a compliment—learn to take one.”
You roll your eyes so hard it almost hurts as he lies down next to you and pats his lap.
“Come on, we don’t know how much time we have left.”
A shiver of dread runs up your legs. You glance at the cell door, trying to catch a sound of anyone on the other side. He slaps your thigh and you send him a gaze that could kill on the spot. But he makes nothing of your frustration and grins widely.
“What you waiting for, sweetheart? No one’s coming—not including us, of course.”
“Jesus Christ,” you mutter, straddling him. You guide him back inside and start moving your hips slowly, taking your time. He smacks your ass, sound echoing around the cell and you start going faster. You brace yourself against his chest, nails digging into his skin.
“Shiiit, girl—you ride me like you were born for it. Bounce for me, c’mon—yeah, just like that.” He licks his teeth, smoothing his hands up your thighs. You grit your jaw, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of your sounds.
With every roll of your hips, his cock hits that sweet spot inside that makes your toes curl. Your movements become more erratic, chasing the high again. His grip on you tightens when you clench around him, before slamming up into you with brutal force. Your head drops down and you can’t help but let out a dragged out, loud moan.
“Yeah, I knew you’d—fuck—like that. Let me hear ya, don't be—hmpf—shy, babe.”
Before you think of something to say back, he starts fucking up into you with maddening speed. It doesn’t take long until the sharp snap of his hips tears the fight out of you. Heat coils and bursts, your body shuddering as he drags your orgasm out of you, grinding deep until you collapse against him, whimpering into his shoulder. He slows his thrusts down, cooing sweet nothings into your ear.
After your breath calms down, he suddenly flips you off him and drops you to your knees. Just when you want to yell at him, his fist tangles in your hair.
“Open that pretty mouth,” he growls, pulling you closer to his cock.
You glare up at him, but your lips part anyway. He fucks into your mouth a few times and spills down your throat, groaning. You swallow on instinct before you drown in his come, his low laugh buzzing in your ears. You wipe your mouth with the back of your hand and start laughing too—the sound bitter and raw, filling the dank cell.
Rex plops down next to you, stretching on the thin mattress with his arms behind his head.
“Best last night ever,” he beams, grin stretching wide on his face. He looks around and lifts up quickly when his gaze stops on something. “Or… maybe not the last?”
“What the fuck are you—” you start, but he’s already on his feet, striding over to your bra and picks it up, twirling it around his fingers. Not a few seconds pass when he plucks the underwire free, dropping your undergarment to the floor.
“Rex—”
“Relax, I’ve got it.” He kneels in front of the cell door and starts picking the lock, sticking his tongue out in concentration.
“You gotta be fucking kidding me. You’re busting us out and I’ll have to run for my life tits-out?” you snap, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Hey, the guards will be too distracted to aim,” he grins, not looking back at you.
You throw his boxers at his head, but he dodges, chuckling quietly. His eyes are fixed on the lock, practiced hands fiddling the wire inside it until it clicks open with a soft sound.
He pushes the heavy door just enough to peek out. You hold your breath until he turns back to you, eyes glinting with mischief.
“Come on, princess. Freedom waits—and so do your clothes.”
