I 90% hate the show and yet I have watched several episodes. What’s with the bulgie eyed sister??

I'm actually rather enjoying it (currently), but again I've only watched three episodes so far. I'm not sure what's the deal with Shelley? I don't know if it's explained or not, but I wish she was focused on more, I love her.
