This week is the last week of summer camp at Reynolda House this year. It’s a sculpture camp and the kids have been very creative. Chick and I stopped by the studio at the end of the day to check out the mixed media rooms they’d created, inspired by the architecture and interior design at Reynolda. Follow Chick on a tour of some of these rooms.
Pictured rooms were designed by 1) Riley, 2) Ava, 3) Henry, 4) Isabel and 5) Sadie.
Yesterday, Chick took her work out into Reynolda Gardens. She decided she definitely should do that more often.
The other weekend, Chick and her friend invited Chick’s parents to come over and visit the new exhibition, “Chrome Dreams and Infinite Reflections: American Photorealism” just opened at Reynolda House. They each had their favorites (e.g. Chick and her mom LOVE Janet Fish’s “Eucalyptus Pods” —2006, private collection— in the first picture.) Before they left, Chick insisted that everyone look carefully at Audrey Flack’s “Bounty,” (1978), one of her very favorite works at Reynolda House.
