Sophia Contemporary Gallery: Reza Derakshani Private view

Opening on 9 March 2016 in London’s Mayfair, Sophia Contemporary's inaugural exhibition showcases several major series of ongoing and new paintings by the artist Reza Derakshani, one of the most celebrated living Iranian artists.

Derakshani will present new works from a number of ongoing series, including the 'Hunting', 'Pomegranate' and 'Garden Party' series among others, as well as paintings from the new 'Calligraphy' and 'Blue' series, which have never previously been exhibited. The exhibition will be open from March 9th to April 23rd 2016.

Lucy Clout was born in Leeds in 1980, and is now based in London. Clout gained her BA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London in 2004, and her MA Sculpture at Royal College of Art, London in 2009.

Recent and forthcoming solo shows include Limoncello, London, UK (2016); Galleri Box, Gothenburg, SE; Jerwood Space, London/CCA, Glasgow, UK (both 2015); Limoncello, London, UK (2013) and International Project Space, Birmingham, UK (2010).

Hany Armanious was born in Ismalia, Egypt and migrated to Australia with his family at the age of 6. He completed his schooling in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the City Art Institute, Sydney.

His work has been exhibited in my museums and galleries such as Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Missouri; UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Institute of Contemporary Art, Sydney and Monash University Museum of Art.
