setting: they live in the same apartment complex that has it's own little laundromat and they apparently have the same wash schedule.

elena  drops  the  laundry  basket  to  the  floor  in  front  of  a  vacant  washer with a semi - quiet thud,    wiping  the  sweat  from  her  forehead  with  the  back  of  her  hand.    one  of  the  many  downsides  of  having  an  apartment  on  the  third  level    –    and  not  one  of  the  good  ones  with  an  in  unit  washer  and  dryer,    obviously.    she  tosses  the  clothes  in,    sneaking  a  peak  at  the  person  sitting  in  one  of  the  waiting  chairs  every  few  articles.    ❛  you  know,    if  we  keep  meeting  like  this    –    i’m  probably going  to  end  up  telling  you  my  entire  life  story  by  accident.  ❜    she  jokes,    adding  the  detergent  and  starting  the  cycle.

setting: they both booked the same airbnb due to a glitch.

the  storm  thunders  from  above,    droplets  pattering  against  noah’s  raincoat  as  he  fumbles  with  the  code.    the  weather  had  moved  his  arrival  time  forward  a  whole  forty  -  five  minutes,    as  if  he  hadn’t  already  been  driving  all  day,    and  he  couldn’t  wait  for  a  hot  shower  and  a  relaxing  consumption  of  media  to  lull  him  to  sleep.    his  first  thought  upon  walking  in  was  that  it  smelled  like  someone  was  heating  up  a  frozen  pizza    –    much  to  his  surprise,    his  nose  was  right.    ❛  i  swear  –  ❜    he  holds  his  hands  up  in  defense,    backpack  dripping  water  onto  the  wooden  floor  just  over  the  threshold.      ❛  i  booked  this  place  two  months  ago,    i’ll  show  you  the  check  -  in  instructions.  ❜    he  said,    moving  to  grab  his  phone  from  his  coat.
