i think mauro is gonna be slept on HARD and thats ppl arent gonna approach his romance the right away

heres how i think of it: mauro is to the player, who the player is to the other characters

in most (not all, but most) of the romances, the player helps their LI work through their insecurities and their previously established arcs, and you come out the end witb a happy, healthy relationship

mauro... already went through his character development before he even came to azuma. from everything he says, he has a happy, loving relationship with his parents (they gave him his airship, supported his dreams, and bawled when he left). And his life outlook is very positive and healthy already (failure is a journey in of itself, and you can always try again). he doesnt NEED you to therapize him. instead, its your PC who gets worried that his wonderlust will take him elsewhere, and get in your own head to the point where you consider breaking up with him, until he clocks that and you have an honest, mature conversation about it

tldr is like, mauro is a "static" character, but dont you think for a minute thats an insult. he reveals more about the PC instead of the other way around, and i found it to be a refreshing change of pace after doing all the other routes

YESSSSS I am SO excited every time I see a Guardians of Azuma request. Not gonna lie, Mauro came in with the steel chair with that “something truly worthy of worship line”....I was shocked. I genuinely feared that Fubuki would emerge from the ocean with a gun and try to remove this new and drastic threat to his position in the Earth Dancer’s heart. 

I present D, E, J, S, and Y for Mauro. I hope you enjoy!

D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)

Mauro, to the bottom of his heart, believes that nothing born from pure love and passion is ever wrong. That said...there is one little thing he probably won’t ever tell you. Not because it’s *immoral*—it’s actually rather sweet, all things considered. It’s just extremely embarrassing to think about how he spent hours cleaning every corner of his usually-messy cabin on his airship every time you came on board for literally any reason, just in case you wanted to go in there and fuck. He would have done it, moment’s notice. So he figured he should be ready. And every time that didn’t happen—because silly him, of course not—he would wind up ruining his freshly washed sheets by himself. 

E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)

Mauro has a mild to moderate level of sexual experience. He does not have a beau or a belle in every port, so to speak, but he’s very free with his love. It doesn’t take him super long to feel close enough to someone to feel comfortable about sleeping with them. Mauro believes sex is a beautiful thing that should not be locked away behind marriage, but should also not be shared with just anyone—his lovers have to be good people who impress him in some way. He’s not interested in blindly stumbling into one night stands. He also does not care to have more than one lover at once. Naturally, someone who dazzles him into bed deserves his FULL attention!

Listen…this man committed himself to a life of traveling around with no constant companionship *and* he’s not the quick hook up type. He got  laid here and there, but definitely not frequently enough to keep up with his libido or his boundless energy. Once he’s with you? Still jackin’ it an above average rate. And you should be grateful for that. 

S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)

Mauro is never tired. It’s kind of fascinating, really—it’s like no matter HOW hard you ride this man or how much you make him rail you into the absolute GROUND, he never runs out of stamina. And for better or worse, most of the sex you’re having doesn’t fall to such an extreme. So yeah, he can go multiple rounds, no problem. He’s inclined to interpret any begging to the effect “stop, please, it’s too much” as a request for a quick little break. It doesn’t take Mauro insanely long to cum, no; rather it’s that he recovers insanely fast and takes forever to tap out. 

Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)

Pretty high, but you’d never know it until you get to know Mauro very well. He is very good at playing the gallant adventurer with no ulterior motive. He seems to always be down whenever you’re interested, and he’s always very quick to profess his admiration of you in a thousand romantic ways. However, he initially seems oddly apathetic towards initiating sex. The truth is: he’s just worried about being too much and coming on too strong. He’s never had physical intimacy attached to real love like this before. He can get a bit overwhelmed. But rest assured…he wants you aaalllll the time.

I’m writing a rune factory fic and I’m finding it harder and harder to explain to people because

1. It has 34 trigger warnings eventually

And

2. Mauro gets paralyzed so I really am a piece of shit

I haven’t finished Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma yet, so the game could prove me wrong, but in my mind Mauro is Ryker and the RF5 (specifically male) protagonist’s kid.

He’s blond like the rf5 protagonist, came from Rigbarth with Hina, and Palmo basically adopted Ryker, making him a De Sainte-Coquille by extension.

I can’t prove it, but that’s my personal guess.
