im loving how reader is engaged to someone with the same career bc it shows that rafe could still be with him he just fumbled so badddd. like he COULD but he couldn't and someone else did and he can't tell himself that they wouldn't work

i agree! rafe saw f1 as the world on a silver platter and he cut ties with reader believing she couldn’t fit in it. now, she’s here, engaged to his fucking boss, and regret is pouring in. especially since he doesn’t admit to anyone he still thinks about reader 🙂‍↕️

my biggest quarrel with second chance romance, especially when there's another love interest in the story, is when they make the second love interest a terrible person in order to push up the first one (aka, rafe). i want reader to have an actual reason to be in love with adrian in the first place! and it makes the story more complex, also longer, but i think it's necessary work in order to tell the story meaningfully.

i also hold grudges soooo fucking bad and i sent like 5-6 asks during hbl just to rant about how bad rafe fucked up in my opinion but this is somehow worse for me. like at least hbl rafe was a sweet guy who did things wrong while trying to save their relationship and make reader happy. but rfc rafe is simply an arrogant guy who dumped his highschool sweetheart the second he got some fame. in my opinion hbl rafe would try to win reader back whether ls happened or not, maybe he would do it a bit late but he still would. and ik we're still only at chapter 4 but it feels like rfc rafe wouldn't even think about reader if she wouldn't suddenly come into his life engaged to someone else. that's just me ofc!

i agree 🙂‍↕️ but i love how fucked up it is. at least with hb:l rafe, it was such a tough situation with some ambiguity that allows us to forgive him. but with rfc rafe, it feels so solid that all his decision came down to a selfish reason. and that’s HARD to forgive. but im gonna have fun trying to prove yall wrong 😛

and i agree. i think hb:l!rafe would’ve tried to win reader back regardless of LS, and LS just gave him an opening to do it earlier than intended.
