One of our staff members just poked her head outside because she saw a crate next to our front door. Inside were three dogs and this note. These pets are loved. Was it you who brought these pets to us? Can we help you? At PVAS, we want to keep pets out of the shelter. We want to keep them with their families. We have lots of ways that we can work with you to make this happen. We can find homes for these pets, but if you were the one who dropped them by our door, and you want help keeping the adult dog, who is very clearly a loved member of the family, please contact us. She's getting the medical help she needs right now, and we're not going to put her up for adoption until Saturday in case you decide to come back for her. If you don't, that's okay too. We'll get her a great home. While stories like this break our hearts, it also inspires us to keep working harder for the RGV. People and pets need us. We need each other.
