Jo had mentioned a few more people would be joining them, but Louis hadn't expected his own cousin would be among them.

Not to mention several of Jo's other former (and for all he knew, current) lovers.

Damn!

The girls eyed Louis with interest, much to his chagrin.

Rhae: "Your friend's cute!"

Drake: "Is he single?"

Scheherazade: "I wanna know too!"

Jo: "He's...not really into women."

The girls: "Aw!"

Louis decided to approach Jo before he lost his nerve. Fortune favoured the bold, no risk no reward, yadda yadda yadda...

Louis: "You look amazing, Jo. It's great seeing you again, maybe we could get together sometime? Just the two of us."

Jo: "I don't think so, Louis. I'm sorry."

Fiona: "Oof! Awkward, cuz."

Louis: "Oh...okay..."

Jo: "I just think we should keep things strictly friendly between us."

Louis: "Friendly...yeah...sure. No problem."

As he happened to be an excellent dancer, Louis proposed a little challenge for the group: a smustle dance-off!

He'd show Jo what they were missing.

Fiona: Drat! Hope the judge didn't notice! Hmm...a quick memory charm would take care of that..."

And the winner is...

“Well, I made it!”

“Next stop, home sweet home.”

Jo had moved away from Mistvale after their uncle’s death, and had gone to live with a different relative in San Myshuno. They hadn’t seen the home front in years, and was surprised how much had changed.

Not everything, though. Some of their old friends still lived there, such as Murphy and Rhae. The three of them had gone to high school together, and made an attempt to start a band before, in Murphy’s garage, belting out other people’s music while dreaming of one day producing a hit of their own.

When they heard Jo was coming back to Mistvale, they let them know that they’d once again been floating the idea of starting that band, for real this time. They needed someone to do the vocals and play the guitar - Jo’s return couldn’t have been more timely.

It would be just like old times.

Well, not exactly. 

Instead of Murphy’s garage, they had rented an old crumbling soap factory for cheap (Rhae knew a friend of a friend of the owner who’d been trying to shift the place for years and was happy enough to take their money) and spent most of their remaining funds on instruments and related gear.

Now they just needed their big break.

Whether Jo and the band (which remains to be named) get their big break or not, remains to be seen - next up we finally catch up with Ellie and Oliver, who have been awaiting the birth of their child for a very long time...
