Hellfyre Club - DVT -complex magazine says! "The Los Angeles rap collective Hellfyre Club is comprised of Busdriver, Nocando, Open Mike Eagle, and milo. Back in November, they released a collaborative mixtape with the controversial title Dorner Vs. Tookie. Today, they are releasing a video for "DVT," the title song. Open Eagle Mike, Busdriver, and Nocando are joined by affiliates VerBS, Kail, and Rheteric Ramirez as they trapise through the forest, choosing to forgo political correctness as they shout out incidents such as the Newtown shooting and the Christopher Dorner manhunt, both of which happened "too soon." IMPOSE magazine says "As we learned in our interview with 2014 Rapper of the Year Open Mike Eagle, Hellfyre Club is meant to be a label, but there are some things you can't fight, like the impulse to gang up on tracks until you've reanimated the infamous posse cut. Technically the Dorner vs. Tookie title track, "DVT" features Busdriver, Nocando, Open Mike Eagle, VerBS, KAIL, and Rheteric Ramirez issuing threats that let the listener know there's nothing softbatch about art rap. It's a tradition that dates back to Project Blowed, which in its early years tested the boundaries of rap as much as its contingent tested the law. The track illustrates the stylistic diversity within the collective, as Open Mike Eagle raps about alliances to certain grocery stores, while KAIL's verse twists a story of the dirt he has no problem doing even with LAPD neighbors."
