Chapter 8 of Divine Realm of the Round Table

 The good news is , the Pharoh of this land , Ozymandias , choose to accept them as refugees. Yet, he can only keep them for a night. That is enough for both Chaledea and Merlin , who is now in the pseudo name Ambrose. After they departed and the little master girl wishes him to have a good dream. Merlin retreated to his own quarters. He can not have a good dream due to insomnia, slowly he began to drift away by his own thoughts.

First thing comes to his thoughts is about the prophecies , yeah , damn prophecies that ripped him and his only friends apart. Like then, here is also a prophecy roaming in this place. “The lion king shall perish in the hand of an outsider.”The lion king’s knights has been searching for any outsiders. The villagers are rebelled against the lion king’s knights, perished at the light of the holy lance. The guilt of not helping those villagers makes his heart hurts. Unlike the magicians,Merlin can’t leave them alone or use them as tools to help him find the lion king even during the course of his life ,he finds out some people, mostly mages are just irredeemable crap of a human,yet Merlin just can’t kill them due to the remaining conscious of him being human.Yet,Merlin’s emotions are playing tricks with him,ripping him apart with fear and anxiety.Due to his telepathy , he is good at sensing people’s emotions. That is why he agree to make friends with the orange haired young girl,Ritsuka ,he sense no malice , just the desire of having new friends. It is hard to sense the emotion of the lion king due to the heavy aura that makes the gravity even heavier,he sense the emotion of the lion king.He does sense anything under that armor,even Uther has emotions of hate and protection , but at the gate there is nothing under the white pure armor that reflects the moonlight of the desert, just a void. Makes Merlin horrified how much Arthur has changed. Yes, Merlin can sense Arthur, they are two sides of the same coin,sharing the same fate. When they are in Camelot, there is some kind of link around him and Arthur,Merlin can tell the creature is Arthur ,no matter what.

Second comes with the thought of death itself, when he entered this Camelot in Jerusalem, he knows that his body has reaching its limits.Like all immortality , their soul will of corrupted by time. Everyone can tell when their time is up ,Merlin is not an exception. He can feel that he will die on the foreign land,just like the fisher king once has foreseen “Thy shall wonder on foreign land and wither.”At that time,Merlin only treat it as the last word of a dying old man.Now he understood the prophecy. Merlin is afraid ,like any mortals ,he is afraid of death itself . Every time Merlin stares into the abyss, the abyss comes and consumes him. Yet he have to return the sword to its master, to end Arthur’s suffering ,to face his sins ,once and for all. Merlin sets up this goal centuries ago, yet it took him so long to accomplish it. All this time, he told himself that he could not find Arthur , yet some part of Merlin knows, they knows that he won’t going to find Arthur because he is afraid of death, even this is the only thing he can do.

Those thoughts makes him insonmia during the night until dawn comes,he does not know when dawn has come to him due to the irregular day and night cycle, the days are exceptionally long ,the nights only lasted for a few hours.No one can take a good rest after this. This land is full of strange things not even Merlin can explain this.

When Ritsuka steps into her chambers with Mash, she opens her comms. Dr.Roman’s scoldings comes as usual, “Ritsuka , you are being so reckless !!! You can’t just make friends with everyone, not everyone , including people or servant ,are friendly , some of them may end up killing you if you are not cautious enough...." Like always , Ritsuka nodded , lets his words flew by. After a few minutes , Romani realized that Ritsuka isn't listen to him as always. So he ended with the phrase below, " I don't want you to get hurt, you are the only master we have got, please just be more cautious. We can't bear to loose you like Da Vinci." The air gone silent , as they both realize the sacrifice of Da Vinci has left a hole on their heart. Even though , they have to persist , they have no time to be sad or grieving over the death of Da Vinci. All they can do is carry the weight of the wishes of the deceased and move on. Its the only thing they have learned from the singularities they have walk through. Try to soften the heavy atmosphere between the conversation, also showing some care to our one and only back up operator, Ritsuka choose to ask about the well being of Romani. Hearing this , Romani just shrugged it off :"There is no need worrying about me , the only thing you need to worry is yourself." He’s words relaxed Ritsuka for a while. Then she leaves the comm and tried to get some rest , they have a long way to go tomorrow.
