Though you probably already know this. :) But in Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Jack Sparrow had an enchanted compass(it's origin was never known), that was useless when it came to navigating in the conventional sense--though it did lead him or the user to what his/their heart desired most at any given moment. Interesting no?

isn't it also interesting that in the same episode where henry's father was first mentioned (in which she told henry he died) VS a COMPASS was also brought up to be the object which reunited a family

Just say, Eric turns out to be Hook's Father. Well, didn't Eric live in a castle by the sea? Kind of like King George's? The same one that Snow and Charming lived in? And Charmings coat of arms, was actually King Georges coat of arms right? And the flower tattoo on Emma's arm is the one and the same? 1/2

It hasn't been featured in any situation yet, you’ll see it more in Episode 6. Just kind of by circumstances, but yeah, it's definitely a youthful decision on her part but ends up being meaningful in the long run.
