andrea was nervous. n e r v o u s was an understatement actually. she was arriving with rhys to this party, when they had made a sport of avoiding each other at every other event they’ve been at together. the last time she had talked to rhys, at the restaurant, she ended up crying the entire night. flipping through polaroids, looking at old text messages, listening to songs that reminded her of him. the talk they had at the restaurant was nice but it brought up everything that andrea had been trying so hard for YEARS to forget. it was odd that they were arriving together when they barely had any contact with one another for over three years. when they arrived, they got bombarded with questions that she was expecting, but they still overwhelmed her. they told everyone that they were arriving as friends and nothing more. but even andrea didn’t buy that, because can you ever be just friends with someone who you thought was the love of your life ? who was your first everything ? she tried to rid her head of all of it, trying to focus on having fun. or as much fun as she could have. she had to admit, afterparty knew how to throw a party, no pun intended. she then found rhys and said, “thanks for inviting me to this. i’m actually having a good time.”
