“Who’s a handsome little man” you swoon over your kitten. You and Matt adopted titan about 3 months ago now. Without realizing you had made Matt jealous, he feels you’ve been giving the kitten more attention and love than him.
Matt lets out a sigh that catches your attention. “What’s up Matt?” You look over at him as you ask this. Your eyes meet his, he’s wearing a mad and tad bit sad expression on his face. “Baby, what’s wrong?” Your voice softens as you set titan down on the floor and scoot closer to him on the couch.
“It’s nothing really” He lies. It was everything, that fact that he feels jealous over a cat. He thinks it’s stupid and that you’ll make fun of him. He just feels you love the kitten more than him.
“Baby, you look like you’re ready to cry” Your now touching knees with him “What’s wrong?” You push once more, hoping to get something out of him.
“I don’t know” He whispers with a small shrug. “Do you love titan more than me?” You can barely hear him but his words send a shockwave through your mind. You see a single tear fall down his face as he speaks.
Your mouth opens and closes a few times, words never coming out. You’re unsure why he would feel this way. “Of course not” You reassure him with a soft voice. Your hands find his cheeks, whipping the tear that stained his face away.
You bring your lips to his, pouring all of the love you have for him into a soft and passionate kiss. You pull away slowly, resting your forehead on his “I could never, why do you think that?”
Matt pants softly, his breath mingling with yours “I just feel like- I don’t know” He stops talking trying to find the right words to use. “Your always giving him compliments, I feel like your always loving him more than me” He spits his words out fast like he’s afraid to admit this to you, but you take in every word that he says and it breaks your heart.
You plant another soft kiss on Matt’s lips, your hands finding their way into his hair to deepen it. You pull away Matt chasing your lips leaving soft pecks on them. “You should have told me sooner” your voice is soft and caring “I truly had no idea, I’m so sorry”
“Please don’t feel bad” he whispers, you can feel his warm breath fan your face from how close the two of you are “I should have said something, i thought you would think i was being stupid” shaking his head looking anywhere but your eyes at his confession.
Your heart clenches at his words “I would never think that” Your fingers find Matt’s chin tilting his head up so you can see his face. “Thank you for telling me, i never want you to feel that way again” your voice is just above a whisper as your voice floats through the air.
“I love you” Matt whispers, his lips brushing over yours sending shivers down your spine.
“I love you to Matt” You whisper as you connect your lips together once more, the kiss messy and full of love, your body’s mingling together. You break away from the kiss with a giggle when titan jumps up into Matt’s lap, him now feeling left out.
