Again, it’s impossible for me to pick just one wonderful woman this Wednesday, so here’s a trio of rad LGBTQ Canadian girls, whom I’ve met (or at least seen).

Vivek Shraya, who’s celebrating her birthday today -Happy Birthday!- presented one of her shorts at the Regent Park Film Festival in 2015, and then there was a very interesting Q&A with the directors, and then I ran into her at the streetcar stop and had the chance to tell her how much it touched me.

I saw Tegan and Sara at the MuchMusic Video Awards in June last year, and they (or at least Tegan) saw me! And last saturday, my sister and I went to their show in Paris and I’m not over it, so not over it! I’ve stars in my eyes and so, so, so much love for them!

And Ria Mae opened for the Quins on that very night, and she and Chris were on fire! Her voice is amazing, they are truly talented musicians and I, for one, can’t resist a girl who sings “Take your clothes off!”

I’ve said it a million times, I’ll say it a million more: Canadian girls fucking rock! (and I almost know these three!)

*I took all but Vivek’s picture; I still haven’t had the chance to see Too Attached on stage (but it’s on my Bucket List!)

I’m so happy I got to see Ria Mae open for Tegan and Sara last weekend; she and Chris were on fire! And so nice and lovely... Candians, eh? And also very hot... I’ve definitely found my favorite Nova Scotian!! Anyways, whether or not you’re celebrating, whether or not you’re single, Ooh Love is a beautiful song, and Ria’s voice is just literally music to my ears. Happy V Day!

A year ago, I saw Ria Mae open for Tegan and Sara, and she sang Gold . That night was LIT! I can’t believe it’s already been a year, but so much happened and I am really thrilled Ria is nominated at the Junos. She deserves it so much.

I’ve been listening to Ria Mae’s My Love EP on a loop since the morning, and I really, really like it. And Broken with Tegan Quin is just... it’s weirdly soothing, actually for a song this dark. But I’ve been a ball of nerves, and listening to it on repeat worked for me. Also, I think that’s maybe because, we’ve all been there, haven’t we? Addicted to someone who wasn’t good for us, or to us. And there’s comfort in knowing we were not the only one. And of course, their voices. Their voices are gorgeous and harmonize so well on that track.
