I am a lesbian that denied for being a lesbian by my lesbian friend because I dislike Tenko for shit attitude the men, creepy advances on Himiko and shipping Himiko with Shuichi. I grew up with nice brothers, but had a abusive dad. Sorry for my bad English grammar.

But wow…seriously? So apparently disliking a character because they have a shitty attitude makes you not your sexuality just because said character is also that same sexuality? (or at least others blindly believe it, but I’m reaching spoiler territory for those who haven’t finished DRV3 yet)

Seriously, by that logic, I’m not straight since I utterly loathe Bella Swan and Ana from 50SoG.  I’m also apparently not Filipino since I hate most teleserye protagonists (seriously, don’t watch Filipino dramas - they suck so hard).  Oh, and in Hetalia, I hate all kinds of ships - Spamano, GerIta, AusHun, LietBela, BelaLiech, TaiSey so…what does that apparently make and not make me? Seriously, that’s complete and utter bullshit, and I’m really sorry that that’s happening to you, Anon.

So what if a lesbian hates a lesbian character? In my opinion, your friend is being quite rude and highly insensitive if she seriously thinks that of you because when have you ever hated Tenko for her sexuality? From what I’m reading, never.  You hate her for right reasons: because, to you, her attitude and behaviour are shitty.  And really, Tenko’s reason for hating men is stupid (just look up her FTE’s).  Even then, there’s no excuse to hate someone because of one asshole: that makes you just as much of a prick if not more so.  That saying so, it’s nice that you have good brothers and, considering the “had” in your sentence, you are no longer with your dad or affiliated with him (that’s my assumption, though - I apologize if I’m incorrect and caused offence.  orz)? 

But seriously, what gives your friend the right to dictate and determine your sexuality? I recall that only you, yourself and you can ultimately determine what your sexuality is: not your friend, not your cousin, not your lover(s), you.  If what gives your friend the right to determine your sexuality is because you don’t like a character who’s the same sexuality as you, then really, your friend needs their priorities checked.  And honestly, if she’s going to deny your sexuality because of something fictional, then maybe you should consider being friends with someone less ridiculous.

Just because someone is your sexuality, race, gender or shares your belief, doesn’t mean you should blindly worship them.  In fact, it’s better if you can think critically without being blind to “commodity” traps like that.  Where creators and writers simply add a character for the sake of “diversity” in their piece which really pisses me off as a Filipino (and we don’t really get much recognition in social media compared to other Asian countries) because I don’t want my race to be some token character that’s shoved in just to appeal to a certain audience.  Likewise, I don’t like seeing others’ attributes to their identity being made cheap by becoming commodity characters to fill in some person’s pockets when they deserve so much more.

Wait... only gay, bi, pan and poly people can be extroverted? What is going on?

I seriously don’t know, but I’m assuming it’s from very stereotypical assumptions that give really unfortunate implications.  I could probably write an essay about these assumptions but that’d involve me delving into the minds of idiots which will wind up with me passing out from the amounts of exposure of their idiocy.  

But long story short - the stereotypical assumptions essay of mine would include the following:

- The number of kinds of people these sexualities can get attracted to.  Notice that bi, pan and poly have “technically” more possibilities compared to het and ace and even demi? Even though that gives the very horrible unfortunate implication that extroverted = will chase any kind of tail = more slutty = being extroverted or/and bi/pan/poly is slutty? And a demi person has no qualms for gender or sexuality? But of course, because they’re “prudes” since the condition is that they gotta have an emotional bond with the person first, that makes them introverted, right? (I thought we were done with the whole “bi and pan are sluts” bullshittery but looks like we’re not…)

- The colours of the flags.  Notice that gay, bi, pan and poly have more vibrantly coloured flags compared to het, ace/aro and demi? Colours and stereotypes have been through so much shit for a stupidly long time that it makes me just want to punch a bitch (particularly the pink = girls and blue = boys debate.  The biggest symbol of femineity in Christianity, the Virgin Mary, would chuckle at this).

- Commodifying or upholding stereotypes like the “sassy gay best friend”.  Because apparently gay men can only be considered “truly” gay if they’re flamboyant, sassy prats and doing remotely “masculine” things such as going to the gym, loving sport, not being interested in sparkles or fashion makes a guy “pretend to be straight” and thus “still in the closet” and hence “not truly gay”.  Never mind that the world is filled with billions of people so no shit you’re going to have people who are different from one another.  The term “lipstick lesbian” exists because of fucking idiots who can’t seem to fathom that a girl attracted to other girls can be girly.  Seriously, how hard is that to even process in your head?  I seriously can’t even at times…

And Tumblr claims it’s filled with progressive views and progressive people.  Pffftt–! Progressive my ass.

As a trans man, you have no idea how rare it is to find headcanons on straight/bi/pan trans gender headcanons on characters. Most the headcanons are 'Beautiful gay trans man baby' or 'My strong trans lesbian girl'. It's worse some of my LBGT+ friends broke off my friendship with me when I came out as straight and dating a awesome supportive pan cis girl. I feel less welcome and feel like a thing that needs requirements in the community I'm supposed to be in. They only like the LGT, instead the B

It’s rather ironic at times how the LGBTAQ+ community (well, I call it that rather than LGBT) is supposed to be about unity and acceptance, yet it’s now notorious for policing, borderline segregating, othering, and gay-te keeping.  ADoseofBuckley coined the term “gay-te keeper” on his Scumbags of the Internet series where in that video he calls out a lesbian for shaming a bi girl just because the bi girl hadn’t had experience in dating women yet.  

Additionally, on ADoseofBuckley’s video, I noticed that there were a couple of comments from people who are LGBTAQ+ themselves that were not part of the community - some even hating it or just blatantly refusing to ever be part of or associated with them.  Many of them were bi/pan/demi along with one gay man whose account really stuck out to me.  

With his account, this man mentioned that he’s gay (I’m not sure if he was cis or trans, he didn’t mention), yes, but not at all flamboyant or campy in the slightest because that just wasn’t his style.  Yet, when he came out, everyone in the community would say stupid shit like “oh, then why are you pretending to be straight?” or “I’d never guess you were gay!” and he got irritated.  I did, too, because, in real life, I’m considered quite “manly” due to my more masculine behaviour (even my voice is considered “manly” due to being a low alto).  Apparently, that must mean I’m a lesbian, a transwoman or at least attracted to girls.

Tumblr is a confusing cesspool where the majority are idiots who are hypocritical and usually don’t stand by their beliefs.  It claims to be accepting of LGBTAQ+ people, but like what you said: only the LG and T matter, but even then, the T only matters if it’s with an L or a G.  Otherwise, they’ll be happy to tell you to fuck off.

Apparently, it doesn’t matter if the girl is not straight or cis, or if her male partner is not straight or cis, either.  You’re a girl dating a guy? Tough luck: doesn’t matter if you’re a bi-cis girl and your boyfriend is trans and pan.  You’re still in a “het” relationship so that means you’re a traitor or unimportant.

People should seriously quit being stupid because it’s seriously harming people.  Heteromantic and heterosexual means to be “romantically/sexually attracted only to the opposite sex.”  Last time I checked, biromantic and bisexual means “romantically/sexually attracted to both sexes.”  Pansexual means “does not care for sex or gender as they’re not restricted by the gender binary”.

There’s also the harmful stereotype that most people think being trans means something along the lines of “ultimate gay person” or can only be gay.  Never mind that there are straight, bi, pan, demi and ace trans people out there.  Even then, somehow being a straight trans person makes one “lesser” in the LGBTAQ+ community simply because they are straight.  I think it’s because most have some sort of beef with straight people, in general.  Though I can assume it’s from homophobia and a bad experience pertaining to it, there are some who are simply like that because they are young, sheltered, impressionable or mixes of all of these.  Regardless, I’m still highly unsympathetic towards such people because they’re simply judging a group of people rather than a person.  Don’t condemn or bash a group of people just because of one or several assholes from that group.  The only exception to this I’d have are groups like Neo-Nazis.

Most of my headcanons for characters I like rarely involve trans headcanons mainly because of Tumblr being stupid and frothing at the mouth in regards to fictional characters that aren’t even theirs, to begin with.  However, when it comes to writing my own characters and stories, I do involve trans characters from time-to-time.  One story idea I had featured a pan trans-boy as the protagonist, but I’m a little nervous about this idea due to the more psychological aspects I want to explore (namely body dysmorphia from a virtual reality game since you live as your ideal avatar in the game).  Another idea had a straight trans-woman as a party member (she’s a Monk though Final Fantasy style) who has a close friendship with the only straight person in the group (a man who’s a Dragoon).

As for you breaking off your friendships with those people - honestly, good riddance.  They just strike me as not being real friends.  Unless you did something heinous like murder, that’s no reason to abandon or be nasty to you.  You deserve friends who treat you well not because of something shallow like your race/sexuality/gender/belief/social class but because they like you as a person.

That saying so, that’s great your girlfriend is supportive! All the best to the both of you! :D

Me disliking or hating a show with a supposed “gay” character and “gay” relationship does not make me homophobic.  In fact, I feel sorry for you if you think his.

If the product is shit, it’s shit.  Nothing can change it - no bending genders, changing sexualities, changing races or any of that crap can save it.  A shit ton of work and writing would have to take place, firsthand.

Would a gay person seriously want to be represented by a half-assed show that fetishizes their sexuality or makes it out to be a gimmick or a commodity?

Would a gay person want to be represented by a relationship that’s so loveless? Such a lack of love or meaningful relationship growth like arguments and going through problems together? Where there’s either only emotional manipulation, blackmail, “fordibben” or just meaningless fluff? 

Would a gay person want to be represented by a flat character who’s nothing but “hey, i’m gay!”, “look at me! i’m gay!”, “i’m doing this because i’m so gay!”? Stereotypes that are not only harmful but lessens the idea that people who are LGBTAQ+ are just people with strengths, quirks, and flaws like anybody else on the damn planet?

Would a gay person want something that’s blatantly just queerbait as something to represent their love and themselves? What’s wrong with confirmation? Doesn’t matter if someone’s journey is coming to terms with their sexuality or they’re already proud and facing adversity - at least their sexuality is confirmed.

Whenever I see a Filipino character, I get curious.  If they’re great, I get excited and happy.  If they suck and are just a commodity or flat, I dislike and hate them.  That doesn’t make me a “traitor of my race”.  I’ve seen people who are LGBTAQ+ get shit on whenever they don’t like certain “gay” characters or “gay” relationships and I promptly think you should kindly shut your trap since they probably hate it because the product and quality are shit.

If the product is shit, it’s shit.  Nothing can change it.

So...you’re allowed to express your opinion but not me? Charming.  Utterly riverting.

Makes me wonder if these dumbasses realize that them throwing a tantrum will just make people hate their game even more.  XD

P.S.: If you’re going to anon me and trash talk to me about Persona 5, just know that that’s not going to make me change my opinion (oh on the contrary~) nor does it make me want to invest time in your game any time soon.  ;3c

I really don’t care about it, which is disappointing since I liked Persona 4 and Persona 2.  And don’t tell me I just don’t understand JRPG’s just because I don’t like your game - Final Fantasy (Dawn of Souls, IV, VII, VIII, X, X-2), Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts (I, Chain of Memories, II, 358/2 Days, Dream Drop Distance), Ar Tonelico (1, 2: Melody of Metafalica, Qoga of Ciel), Ni no Kuni, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, Dragon Quest VIII...and this is going from the top of my head of what I played that I recall is a JRPG.
