Hey guys. Posting a quick update and explanation.
Over the last few months I’ve done almost zero writing. I lost almost all of my confidence in writing for a while and I’m getting back to it. I mean like I sat down to try and write multiple times and it ended in me crying and very frustrated cause I just couldn’t get anything written or out.
It will be a little while before I go back to IINHF. OII? or Incalescent. I have a lot of emotional connection to those stories and I really want to get back into the right place mentally before I work on them more and finish them. Those stories need more than any half ass writing from me. (I know that probably frustrates some of you but I do still have all original PDFs! So just message me for them.)
So uh…. brainstormed excerpt of a new possible story? Will be ShinKami (obviously y’all are reading my post lmao). I usually don’t post bits of new writings like this but throwing some feelers out and trying to show you guys I’m still alive and trying. 🥲😂
Love you guys!!! <3 <3 <3
“Look at it this way, Hitoshi, change can be really good. And you can make more friends along with staying in contact with your friends here. We’re only moving half an hour away; you can come visit whoever you want to on the weekends.”
Hitoshi closed his eyes and sighed, plopped down onto his bare mattress as his blonde father’s words repeated in his head. Sure, his Pops may have been right but that didn’t mean he wasn’t upset, rightfully so, about having to move just a few months into his junior year. He’d finally been settled, totally and completely settled with a friend, a family, a school, a plan for his future, everything he’d ever wanted before his dads adopted him just three years before.
“You’ll settle in Tosh. I understand how you feel and I hear you. I know you do not want to move but this is important for all of us, including you and your sister.”
His other dad’s words flitted through his head in a gentle reminder that not only was he moving schools, going to be a new kid once again, but not only one, both of his dad’s were going to be teachers at his new school.
Yippee. Cause it was always so great to have your parents working at your high school.
He sighed again, something he did quite often, and then reached his left arm to the only opened box left in his room. After a second of fumbling through the contents of the box, he pulled out an older iPod, a pair of earbuds wrapped neatly around it. Hitoshi sat up, unwrapped the earbuds to plug them in and then held the device gently in his hand, observing it with a calm sincerity, a lick of unidentifiable emotion shown just in the slight narrow of his eyes and the dip of his brows. There was a crack in the middle of the screen, black scuff marks along the edges and corners, yellowing in some places and it was missing a button. It was old, well used, special.
The last gift from someone who had once been the most important person to him.
He turned the device on, scrolled a bit, stuck the earbuds in his ears and then laid back down with his eyes closed. Indigo hair stuck out from every direction of his head on the bare mattress, arms settled on his chest with the iPod held neatly between his fingers.
He listened to the music and the look of seriousness faded from his face as it relaxed ever so slightly into something more akin to remembrance or… a kind of acceptance.
