OHOHOHOHO, FRIEND, DO I HAVE A STORY FOR YOU.
so, not so much now because he’s made several statements where he’s apologized and very recently said he’s basically embarrassed by how he used to be, and the new killers single “The Man” is about making peace with who he used to be and realizing that he’s older and knows better now, but Brandon Flowers has a history of unabashedly talking shit about bands.
i don’t have a timeline or anything but basically here’s a rundown of what’s happened in his life.
in 2006 he said he wanted to beat fall out boy to death after having an ongoing feud where pete wentz would slam him on the internet and ended up calling brandon his “arch nemesis” but brandon would later take it back and feel bad for saying that he thought panic! at the disco was piggy-backing off of fall out boy’s success
the whole thing with the bravery was brandon saying that the bravery were a band bc The Killers were a band and the singer from the bravery called brandon a “little girl” and a “kid in a wheelchair” (hit crtl+f or command +f and search “The Killers” in this link) but brandon also apparently called that guy up and apologized for what he’d said
the thing w/ green day was that brandon was offended by green day’s dvd “Bullet In A Bible” being basically anti-american according to brandon bc it was filmed in the UK where billie joe’s intentions for the song were definitely not being taken the same way they were in the US. i remember reading that billie joe clapped back but i can’t find any articles about it omg. EDIT: I TOTALLY FORGOT TO ADD THAT BRANDON DID APOLOGIZE FOR THIS YEARS LATER if you listen to this song at about 1:50 brandon sings “green day, i said some shit but that was the old me.”
the thing w/ the strokes is that the strokes and brandon also apparently said that the strokes’ debut record was better than the killers’ and the strokes were mad bc they weren’t as famous as the killers
