This particular work is was created on two canvases - one of stretched heavy Middle Eastern Kham cotton the second a raw linen canvas similar to the fabric or yarn used across Ireland over the centuries. . The purple colours represent my lebanese heritage and the Phoenician peoples who are my ancestors. I used vibrant yellows to represent the dazzling illuminated manuscripts created here in Ireland by the monks of the mid 8th century. The three initial piece from this series are now in London.
