I’ve been completely absorbed with Special Effects master @therickbaker ‘s new career spanning art book. His work and passion has truly inspired my life as an artist today. I can recall vividly reading any monster magazine (but in particular @fangoria) I could my hands on when I grew up in a small town in Michigan. The spectacular art of the macabre and horror movies really cut through the airwaves for me. The work of Rick made an impression on me, to the point where I devoted my life to art. Many years later I got to meet him here in LA and was pleased to create a few pieces in a tribute Art Show to him (One of my pieces “Vape Ape” above inspired by his cameo in Planet Of The Apes) and I got to tell him in person what his work meant to me.
